I brought my car here the summer of 2022 for a fix on the front of my Subaru Legacy. The only issue I had was their estimated time for repair which ended up being almost 4 times as long as originally projected. Chad was nice and patient with me every time I called for an update. He even offered to come pick me up on the day my car was done. A couple weeks later I had to get my car towed on the highway because the car just shut off while I was driving. The Subaru dealer told me whoever worked on my car neglected to put the screws back on the terminals of my battery— so the wires were slowly detaching from the battery over time.

My car was deemed a total loss, so I called asking if I could keep the rental car for a few more days. They let me keep it for a week for no extra charge.
Some of the kindest, most accommodating people I have ever experienced in the industry.

They are amazing. Had my truck in a few months ago and they made her look like new fixing the rusted fenders. Went back this month with damage to the same truck from a large branch falling on it. They were very helpful and friendly. Got me an estimate within 30 minutes. Looking forward to doing business with them to get her fixed up.

I work at Honda and we have done business with Shaffers for a long time. This is the first time dealing with them on my own personal car. They replaced my bumper cover, intrusion beam, and other parts on my 4runner. The whole process from estimate to complete repairs only took a week, including 2 days off for the weekend! The 4runner looks flawless and couldn't be happier! They even did a quick detail on it when done! Would definitely recommend Shaffer's to anyone!

Excellent service, professional and customer oriented, they make it a priority to make sure the job is done right and make sure to ask you if you see anything wrong with their work. They have good loaners at no cost to you. This is the only place you should go to get your vehicle repaired.

Everyone was polite, my vehicle was done on time, I had access to a loaner car while mine was being repaired, and Justin was even able to get answers to my questions from my very unresponsive insurance company. The repairs look good as new. My husband was very pleased with the paint job. Thanks!!!

Awesome work! If your looking for a repair shop in Central Iowa, look no further. Very helpful staff, and their accessors know exactly what they're looking at and go above and beyond if finding more damage. They seem to put their foot forward and make the necessary phone calls to get to the bottom of any problem.

The only "con" thing I'd say what-so-ever would be the rental vehicle they offer. At least the one that they offered me. I received a 2003 Honda accord with like 230,xxx miles. And oh boy, driving that for a month was a bit rough. The interior was nice and NON SMOKED in, at least from what i could tell from.

Made appt with Shaffers to get front bumper fixed on my vehicle. There service was great and professional. Even tho they were running a day behind, and I needed to leave town. They were very nice to keep me updated and were patient with me when I called several times about getting it back. Then when I recieved my truck I was pleasantly surprised the even gave it a light detail on the inside. With the small job they did, they treated my truck like it was a big job!! Thanks for the good service!!

I brought my car in for an estimate and had a great experience from the start. Reception greeted with a smile, offered me a fresh coffee, got my car looked at right away, and had comfortable chairs while waiting.

Shaffer's seems like a well-organized business with friendly employees and very clean office/reception areas.

Absolutely top tier, and super reasonable prices. Granted, It took a long time for me to actually get scheduled, but that was because they're booked several months out. Why were they booked several months out? Because they do awesome work! The repair was done fairly quickly, I know body work always sucks, so the one week turn around is absolutely acceptable, especially since you can genuinely not even tell there was any damage to begin with. 10/10

Shaffer’s handled my vehicle after it was T-boned in an accident. They were great at communicating, gave me a decent time frame (which was adjusted due to backordered parts). When I got my vehicle back, it was like the new car smell all over again, and it felt new. They did a great job cleaning up what a mess it was from all the broken glass. Had hail damage repaired (PDR) and had some additional work done on my driver's side door that required some welding. They did a fantastic job on both. Chad is awesome to work with, and the Customer Service is excellent. I would highly recommend Shaffer's. Very impressed!!!

My white BMW 550i was stunning until 35 intense minutes of golfball size hail ravaged the aluminum body and knocked out the rear window. With an inch of water in the car, I was thankful that the adjuster didn't total it. I was speechless when after several weeks the skilled technicians and PDR artists at Shaffer's presented me with a meticulously restored vehicle. No dents, no cracks, no surprises, no hassles. Just a beautiful, flawless and shiny vehicle repaired to a quality that exceeded my expectations. (I'm a picky guy!) These folks are the best! Shaffer's replaced my rear bumper while I was recovering from surgery. Their communications were so professional and the quality of work is great. Their customer service was EXCEPTIONAL. They even drove the repaired car to my home, since I was not able to drive after surgery. They performed a repair for me several years ago, and I was very pleased with them then, too.

Took my car in to get my door fixed; it took under an hour and cost almost a quarter of what the Ford Dealership quoted me. Will be returning if I ever need more body work done.

RUN away fast - I agree with Roger H, I had the same issue! Parts were back ordered for about 6 months, their competition, Dewey Collision Center in Ankeny found ALL the parts in 1 week. Their excuse of everyone having delays is untruthful. I am not sure why they are so incompetent and unreliable? Reply from owner does NOT address the SIX month wait - don't use this shop

I have been to Schaffer's twice in the last few years to take care of rust issues on my truck by using aftermarket covers. Both times they were very pleasant to deal with, showed me examples of what the work would look like on other vehicles in their shop and the timelines of the work were clearly communicated. The work was done quicker than quoted and both times. The 3 year old fix is holding strong and looks as good as the day it was installed. (Cab corners and rocker panels). My truck was returned vacuumed, interior windows cleaned, and exterior washed. A+++

This is the best shop in the area. I had a very minor repair and the service person fixed it within minutes. I will always recommend this shop because of its focus on community.

Excellent communication in regards to what needed to be done as we are from out of town. They worked with the auto insurance adjusters to get everything settled. They provided her with a loaner car and even vacuumed the interior of her car! Highly recommend.

I had a number of small and medium scratches and a big one on (grocery cart) on my fairly new van. Painting would be quite expensive, so he suggested their buffering process. I couldn't be happier with the results. And they vacuumed!

I would definitely recommend Shaffer’s to anyone, they did a fantastic repair on my wife’s sunroof great job and the price was very reasonable.

I was going to fix this accidental review as my child had my phone yesterday. But I don't believe I will now since your response is so negative. I will also provide some details as to why I can back up a 1 star review now as well. Damage was to passenger side of vehicle only. Insurance only cut the amount for that repair. Shaffers here decided to also fix some paint on the rear bumper and charge me without my consent. The amount was offset from the insurance payment as a result. I didn't have as much money in my account as I thought from my deployment to Afghanistan. The check was bad. I attempted to come up with the money as fast as possible. They involved the police. We all make mistakes. I got them paid. The junk yard parts they used rusted within a year and a half. I will say however whoever did the paint did quite well. They do awesome work everything considered. I just choose to go elsewhere now after they did unauthorized work.

They do great work and are a pleasure to work with. The loaner cars leave a lot to be desired though.

Game me a free quote on some rust and talked me through the damage. Thanks to them I can now make a decision to return the car I bought from an online dealer. I will go to them with any future issues or pre purchase inspections.

Shaffer's auto-body goes above and beyond in what they do. Not only do they have completely free loaner cars (even if paying out of pocket,) but when I picked up my car, I was extremely surprised to find that it had been cleaned. Not to mention the quality of the work, my vehicle looks as new as the day I got it. Their service was quick as well, I was quoted 4 days of work: dropped my car off on Tuesday and it was easy for pickup by Friday morning already.

Outstanding customer service and attention to detail, plus great free loaners, Shaffer’s Auto Body is the place to go.

They are very friendly; however, service/repair quality is poor. I left my car for alignment. When I took it back, I noticed that steering wheel was not aligned. I returned the vehicle back for them correct this. They corrected the steering wheel but this time, they left the rear steering tie rod loose. I noticed that when I almost hit a car. Every time, I pushed the brake the car was pulled to the left. I fixed the problem by myself. Of course, I had the car re aligned later somewhere else.
