A tree fell on the house and the Servicemaster team handled the repairs and insurance paperwork from beginning to end. Outstanding communication, prompt paperwork, knowledgeable crews working, no security concerns whatsoever. Based on this experience, I would recommend this company without any hesitation.

Beware of ServiceMaster by Rice from Des Moines.
They have ruthless tactics against the elderly and others in unfortunate situations in my opinion.
Have a good attorney, if you decide to hire them, that is proficient in contracts.
Charge $4.85 million for job that should have been about
$2 million, but management signed ambiguous contracts.

Their employee Devin Lickteig managed the project for them. Since I was a unit owner, I was responsible for the payment .

I felt that we needed more communication as to what was happening next and when. I also would have liked to have a cost as we went. It cost us way more money than we would have spent had we known at the beginning what we know now.
I will add that all of the people we encountered were pleasant to work with.

We had water damaged in 2015. Our insurance company used Service Master. We needed our laminate flooring replaced along with carpet in the bedrooms. When we installed our carpet and laminate flooring we used top quality. I am so angry, the carpet they replaced is POOR quality and buckles and the laminate flooring is peeling and buckling also. They must have used $.99 laminate flooring from Menards. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND OR USE THEM AGAIN. I believe they are scammers

My sump pump stopped working so my basement flooded. I called three companies by 11 am and was put on the waiting list for each. Service Master called to say they were on the way at 1:30. Another company called at 2:00 and I declined their service as Service Master was in route. Service Master called me back a little after four and said they were able to head out now but wanted to let me know that now it would be after hours rate. I complained saying if they would have come when they said they were coming, then I would not have had to pay extra. I also would have had an option to go with another company without paying after hours rate. They said there was nothing they could do about it.

Everyone I talked to was helpful and supportive, especially during a high-stress time for me. Joseph, the project lead, was professional, communicative, thoughtful and made sure I understood the process and options.

Water supply line burst early am Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. Second floor bathroom. Service Master team of four spent 8 hours on Saturday cleaning up and representatives stopped by every day for a week after. Service Master really came through for us when we were in a bad spot. Customer service, professionalism, and responsiveness all top notch!

We had a pipe break while we were gone. Great mess on two levels. Ryan, Jason, and Doug responded during the holiday and rendered remarkable service. Due to the tornados and other damage that had just occurred prior to our water loss, we knew that there would be a delay. I called the main two companies in the Des Moines area that does this type of work. ServiceMaster stayed in touch with me and we communicated many times during the wait time. ServiceMaster's main competitor would not even return my call. We are very grateful for ServiceMaster and their superior customer service. We are now entering our third day of drying the house out. Doug has been here (just left) and explained the process, etc. We are very confident that our home will be put back to the "pre-loss" condition. Thank-you!!!

Response time is very quick when minutes matter. Their team is very knowledgeable and professional and know what they are talking about. You are in good hands.

A pipe burst in our home and we immediately called service master. They came out immediately and worked until late in the night. I can't say enough about Leo, Javier and Isabella. They as well as others were calm and professional during the entire process. They did the job right and answered my questions.

Had a great experience with this company and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to everybody. Friendly, prompt, polite, and quality work with attention to detail when cleaning my carpet. Top notch service from start to finish. They guys on the crew were awesome and took pride in doing the job right. Ben setup the job. Bob and Brady did a great job of cleaning throughout the house. Isaiah(?) was the carpet cleaner and he also did a great job. Not only were they good at doing their job they were also very personable. We all had a good time with some friendly conversation while they worked. We talked about both the job and personal things like where they were from and what they liked to do outside of work. Just to be clear they talked and worked at the same time, this conversation did not stop their progress working. As earlier noted.. Fabulous job by everyone involved in the cleanup. I could not be more impressed with the ServiceMaster team. I highly recommend calling ServiceMaster if you are, like me, cleaning up smoke damage from a fire. ServiceMaster did great work, finished in the time predicted, and came in under their estimate. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

I called ServiceMaster by Rice around 1:00 pm. They showed up at 1:30 for an assessment and told me what they could do. I had a sewer backup in my bathroom due to a plugged line. It backed up into the tub and on the floor. The plumber cleared the line but did no cleanup whatsoever. By 2:30 Ellie showed up to do the work requested and went above and beyond my expectations. She did cleanup and sanitizing all surfaces. She even put the dirty towels from sopping up the water into my washer so I could get them cleaned. Super nice person, did an outstanding job and was finished before 3:30. Thank you for doing the cleanup I could not do for health reasons. Highly recommend this company and would use them again if I ever need to. Thank you ServiceMaster by Rice. Truly appreciate the service and professionalism.

ServiceMaster by Rice did a great job of communicating and working in a timely manner on our kitchen flooring and dry out. They did a great job of explaining their processes and working with us on efficient timelines.

I called Service Master by Rice in a panic due to water damage created by a leaking water line to our ice maker. They came with a crew (Tyler, Tony, and Xavier were wonderful) on a Friday night and were extremely professional, helpful, and transparent in the process we would need to follow. Simply excellent!

Eric, the manager we worked with, was amazing. He went above and beyond to assist us. He was prompt, respectful, knowledgeable. After a horrible experience with another water damage remediation company, service master was a breath of fresh air. The technicians were professional and polite. They did an amazing job taking care of mold due to water damage from the derecho. So grateful for the help of these professionals.

Poor and outrageously expensive residential carpet cleaning to say the least. The carpet was in great shape (no pets, children or shoes worn in home), just needed to be cleaned prior to ending townhome lease. At checkout, property manager asked if it was professionally cleaned and wanted a receipt to verify smh. Customer care and service was of par, just not the place for carpet cleaning.

They were quick to respond to a water loss. They were very professional and laid out a complete plan to prevent further damage. They did a great job at communicating and showed up on time. Would highly recommend and will hire again if another fire or water loss came up.

They were very quick at getting to my house to do the clean up from a sewer backup. Their people were very polite. However they where somewhat reckless in removing water soaked wood baseboard and door trim. They needlessly damaged drywall when removing baseboard and damaged useable door trim because they were in a hurry. This added to the cost of repairs which weren’t fully covered by insurance.

ServiceMaster by Rice took the stress I was having and reduced it to almost zero by their professionalism and expertise while at my home. They were focused on my health even in the middle of Covid19 and their employees were well prepared to enter my home.

Manny Granado and his entire Service Master (SM) team were fantastic! Our entire basement flooded and they were able to clean it thoroughly even though it had started to mold. The basement just passed the second mold inspection when SM had finished cleaning. Very professional, responsive, and courteous. I hope the flooding never happens again, but if it does, I certainly know whom to call! Thank you, Manny and your team.

We had water damage throughout our main floor living room and office due to a faulty pipe in an upstairs bathroom. Water was raining down from the ceiling into the main floor and even ended up in our basement. From the very beginning of the process ServiceMasters gave off the impression that they only wanted to do the bare minimum possible. While setting up fans to dry, one employee told me they didn't want to leave equipment at my house for very long. When discussing the next steps they laid out the processes they would take to remove wet sheetrock and insulation. When I returned home from work they had not done, or had done very little of those processes. After asking why they had not done what they said they were going to, they replied that they did not need to because it had dried out. I requested they do it anyway and after opening up a wall they found all the insulation behind it was wet and needed to be removed. With the amount of water that had been coming down through my ceiling I requested they take it down and was told that wasn't their job. I asked if they could at least get some holes punched into the ceiling to get some airflow through the trusses and the holes they drilled were so small and didn't even penetrate through all the material that no airflow was possible.
I ended up hiring someone else to come in and do the job properly. I can't imagine the problems I could have run into down the road if I had taken their word and not pressed them for any further work.
I would not recommend ServiceMasters to anyone.

I had ServiceMaster by Rice do Carpet Cleaning at both our home and office.
On time very conscientious both Leah and Gary were great to work with. I also had a Great Experience with their team in Marion Iowa at my Sons Fraternity in Iowa City.

As usual Service Master by Rice, made my old carpet look new again. Whether a carpet is water damaged, fire damaged or it just needs a good cleaning, Service Master by Rice does a five star job! From the time I made my call to the time Gary left my house I received 5 star treatment. Absolutely the best to work with and I have used them for 15 or more years. Always satisfied.

I had bad water stains on my ceiling in the kitchen from a leak. It was getting bad, so I suspected there could be mold on the other side. Regardless, I called ServiceMaster, who I have used for 45 years and told them the situation. They of course needed to use their water and mold remediation people first to assess things safely, then tear down the bad, put up new, paint, etc. It took about a week.

They were careful, neat, polite and did a great job of "tenting off" the area when they were removing the ceiling where we did see black mold growth, which they sprayed and killed. They used "air scrubbers" to be sure none of that got into the rest of my home. Each step, with each new team went smoothly. Dan, Brian, Steven, Don, Lee, Anthony and the rest who worked within their specialty areas all did a great job, so I was not torn up and having to use the bathroom sink and other places to fix food longer than necessary. I would recommend them to anyone who has need for people with the right equipment and trained people to assess and treat water damage and mold growth properly and rebuild anything that was ruined. As stressful as it was on me, they worked as fast as they could and still do a proper job. The air was tested after the ceiling part was down where they had killed the black mold areas, and it tested fine. 5 Starts for a 5 star company in my long experience with them.

Two days of waiting and they never showed up. They just kept pushing the time forward. I blame them for any additional mold or damage we have.

No it was definately your location. The Call was under my significant others name. We were told afternoon Wednesday, morning Thursday, afternoon Thursday, then told nothing you didn't contact us back at all. Even when MY number was left.

In a bad situation they are the ones to call! Great team that did there best to clean up and treated us with compassion.

I am very disappointed in Service Master by Rice. I called and said I needed flood work done. They arrived immediately. They immediately started to work, but with no consultation with me. I called 3 times to have someone talk to me, with no reply. They had to completely tear out all floor covering, which I get, but when I asked for specific requests it was never done. I was totally disappointed in the condition the basement was left in after the drying. I would think that they would at least tidy everything up, even putting the furniture back in place. NOT. Everything was left totally torn up. This job was done back in late September and after several attempts to talk to someone, other than the female who answered the phone, who was very rude, I still have not spoken to any management. I am very angry at this point, and feel this company needs to work on their customer relations. I do not appreciate being told, when I called, " I'm done talking to you". Sorry Servicemaster, guess I'm not done talking yet. I did not want to post this, nor do I want to go to other forms of media, however I feel you give me no choice. I to this day, have not had a call back.

ServiceMaster by Rice was fast to respond, thorough , excellent communicating progress and findings. The team was also flexible when I expanded the scope of work.

We have used ServiceMaster on multiple occasions and are completely satisfied with their work. We have used their carpet cleaning service on five occasions and they have handled three separate home owners claims for us, one fire claim and two water damage claims. They courteous, professional and stand behind their work.

Absolutely amazing! I’ve been put at ease and kept very well informed throughout my broken pipe incident at my business! Especially joe.... he ROCKS!
