Fabulous experience! They arrived on time, quickly assessed placement of the system and got to work. They communicated progress and thoroughly explained the system and gave me the follow up test, along with the literature. Very pleased with their work and they cleaned up too! The workers showed up promptly at the time agreed upon. And worked hard to get all the work completed in a very impressive time period. When finished, he showed me the work that was completed. And they cleaned everything up. Reasonable going rate for radon mitigation. And if you live in West Des Moines, the city will pay for the system while funds last. I wish I had known this beforehand. You have to apply for the grant and fall within a certain finance limit. I saw this the day after I had the work done. Selgrade Construction is a 5 star company. I would definitely recommend them.

I contacted Selgrade Construction as it was on my list but when I contacted another person who no longer worked for a different company - he strongly encouraged me to contact Thomas Selgrade. When I contacted Selgrade, within hours, after we had a question and answer conversation, I was provided with an estimate. Another company provided with the same information only made an appointment to have someone come out to my home in 6 weeks. I had explained I had a preplumbed system going into my attic, with power lines - Selgrade automatically knew what the job would entail and provided an estimate. The nice thing was after arriving when they said they would (Would be here after Noon hour from another job and would call beforehand - they did, and got here at 1:30 as they advised that day) getting the job completed, he adjusted the bill lower - because the electric for the fan was already in place, hot, and they did not have to do the electric fusebox work. Thomas showed with two others - they were all very respectful and immediately went to work assessing the job and getting it done. He explained what he was doing, the warranty I got with the fan and what/how I could tell the system was working and what to do if it showed it was not. Very Satisfied and would recommend to everyone.

I have been monitoring my home for radon since the spring and found that it was running over 6.0 pCi/L. Since Selgrade Construction is a local company (within Warren County), I reached out to them. They gave me a reasonable quote for two radon mitigation options. Selgrade Construction is professional and very customer service-oriented. They only took a few hours to install the radon mitigation system. They cleaned up after themselves. They took time to ensure I knew how the system worked and the warranty. The radon levels diminished to less than 1.0 pCi/L within 24 hours. I would highly recommend this company.

Selgrade Construction did an amazing job! Thomas was very friendly and was thorough when explaining what he was going to be doing to mitigate our radon levels. The day of he walked through with my husband again what he was going to do. We even had our power go out and they were still very accommodating and were able to get the work done. Their work was very neat and once it was complete he explained how the system worked and how to do the at home retesting. I am so glad we went with them. I feel better knowing are radon levels are safe now in our new home.

Within a few days of accepting their proposal, Thomas and Nick came and installed a system in just a few hours. They did a fantastic job, everything straight, level, well secured, and professional in appearance. After a couple of days of operation, our radon levels had dropped from up in the high teens to less than 4.0 pCi/L. We are very happy with their work and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

We had a great experience! The initial radon test was easy and quick in terms of both setup and pick-up. We received a very timely review of the results along with an explanation of options. Installation of the radon reduction system in our basement went very smoothly. Thomas and his team were finished within the course of one morning and they were able to place the unit in a very tight feed through location so it would be out of view from the street. We're very pleased with the level of service we received and would highly recommend Thomas and his team if you're in need of Radon testing and mitigation. (And if you live in Iowa and don't already have it, then you probably are!)

They solved my radon problem quickly & at a fair price. The solution looks clean (pipes are tucked neatly into corners with the fan in the attic). AND they left the place cleaner than they found it.

We were concerned about a very high radon measurement. I did my research and called five different companies in the area about mitigation. All were knowledgeable, but some were expensive and some wanted to sell extra items. Thomas was very knowledgeable and helpful. He answered all of my questions and was able to give me a firm quote over the phone. It only took about an hour for them to install the mitigation system and it brought the radon level down to under 1pCi/L.

Tom explained before installation of our radon mitigation system and afterwards, so we knew what to expect, etc. He was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Even before we agreed to the service, he explained that our metal roof should have the original installer come to do the flashing around the vent to preserve our warranty. When we provided the company name, he contacted them, arranged for their time to match his installation, and included their quote in our cost. I could not be more satisfied with Selgrade Construction.

Selgrade provided a clear and thorough quote for the installation of an active radon mitigation system, and we were able to get a time for them to come out within a few weeks. Thomas and Nick were prompt, respectful, and you could tell they knew what they were doing. After Thomas walked me through the pros and cons of several options for the location of the system, they went to work. I figured it would take half the day, but they were done in around 3 hours. They did an incredible job installing the system, and they left zero mess where they worked (which is a luxury I didn’t know I wanted until owning a house). They didn’t charge us as penny over the quote, and Thomas walked us through how to use a free follow-up radon test.

Prompt courteous and professional service! Before, during, and after installation of the Radon Mitigation System the technicians explained what they did and the operation of system. They worked with me (home owner) to find best solutions to installing the system. Whole job was completed in about 3 hours and their prices were good/competitive. We hired Selgrade almost three years ago to test the radon in our home. More recently, we asked them back to do the actual mitigation. They were great. Since our basement is often occupied, I thought it'd be a good idea to install radon mitigation. My co-worker referred this company to me. I reached out to them, and Thomas responded to me promptly. We then discussed price and installation date. On the installation day, he and his team arrived on time, installed things professionally, and then provided me with a walk-through of the finished product, and finally answered any questions that I had. Fast forward to about 5 months later, I contacted them again to get advice on what to do with the radon pipe now that I'm planning to finish that area to a bedroom. He still responded to me questions quickly and provided useful recommendations that I can share with the contractor who would work on finishing that space.
