Schumacher Roofing did a great job on our project. We had them do roof replacement, soffits, trim, gutters, and an outdoor porch ceiling. I'm impressed with their quality of work, attention to detail, and communication. The crew was courteous and cleaned up all materials afterwards. Highly recommend!

As a relatively new homeowner, the prospect of having to replace my roof seemed a daunting task. Jim and his crew at Schumacher Roofing were an incredible team to place my trust in when I was inexperienced in both necessary home repairs, and the intricacies of navigating insurance claims. I was extremely grateful that Jim took time out of his weekend to reach out and walk me through the minutiae of claim processing when I was merely a prospective client at the time. His team had knowledge to identify errors in my insurance’s estimate and reached out to have the value adjusted accordingly. The day of the repairs, Jim’s crew worked a solid 14 hours to replace my roof in one day. I applaud their dedication and efficiency, but moreover, I appreciate that they knew their limits, rested when they felt it necessary, and didn’t risk their safety on my account. Schumacher Roofing was very open in their communication, outlining the steps needed to complete the repairs, coordinating timing with me, and had the pride and confidence in their work to review the repairs with me personally upon completion. After the insurance finally approved our claim, Schumacher Roofing did the repairs in a timely manner. The contractor that did the work was very efficient and courteous.

Called Schumacher Roofing to fix a vent pipe leak that occurred last week following a torrential rainfall the night before. Jim, the owner, had his nephew, Josh, at our house the next morning who fixed the problem, inspected our roof and assured us that we should get a couple of more years before replacing. First off, one of the main reasons I chose Schumacher Roofing is because they are respected amongst the home insurance industry as an honest company who provides a professional service for a reasonable price. Contrast that with “storm chaser” roofers who have no ties to your community and who come around and talk you and your insurance company into believing you’ve had some type of hail or other storm damage.

I could go into details but the long and short of it is; after inspecting my roof and telling me I could probably get another year out of it Jim Schumacher quoted me a price to replace my roof explaining exactly what his crew would do and what materials would be applied. We were in constant communication about everything including when the materials would be delivered to my house, when his empty trailer would be delivered, and what time his crew would start work. There was absolutely no stone left unturned.

The crew of approximately 10 workers got started at the prescribed time. They got busy stripping the roof and then, with the exception of a short lunch break, worked continuously until the new roof was on and their mess cleaned up.

So, why the excellent rating? They offered me a specified service for a specified fee. They arrived on time and performed the service and left by the time they said they would. I had no concerns and no complaints. A very straight-forward transaction.

In today’s world of contractors who don’t spell out exactly how and what they are going to do, who
show up late, who don’t complete the job when they say they will, or use substandard materials or leave a mess behind. It's refreshing to work with a company that does EXACTLY what they tell you they’re going to do for the amount quoted. For them, it was just another job done the right way. For me, it was EXCELLENT!

Jim provided individual attention to my job. He provides detailed work orders and requirements.He provides his professional recommendations on shingle color and i was able to view the shingle color that I selected in advance. His prices were the best of my estimates and shingles are high quality, wind resistant. He was flexible to my schedule constraints. The crew was prompt, courteous and effective. They cleaned all debris and hauled away. They even cleaned out a clogged gutter. This is weathered wood.

These guys were fabulous!! They tore off old shingles, put on the new ones, added black drip edge, cleaned out the gutters, and thoroughly cleaned up afterwards. They even painted our roof vent pipes to match the roof color. This all was accomplished in a day! I would highly recommend - we went with them after reading other recos and we were very pleased!!

The job was done perfectly and completed in one day. His price was very competitive and used the best materials. Schumacher Roofing is the BEST! We had a leak in our kitchen from our roof getting damaged from the recent wind and hail storms. Jim was so nice over the phone and coordinated scheduling very quickly to get us taken care of. The crew arrived around 6:30am, worked very hard and efficiently making sure to take good care of our home and property. They had our roof off in about an hour and the new one put back on by 1:30pm. He took pictures of the damage prior to explaining to us what the repairs would be and the cost, that was very helpful! The price was great and much less than we thought. Untrustworthy

Our roof was leaking. The water was entering our house in the basement, from the chimney stack. Jim Schumacher came and assessed the roof. While standing next to the chimney he shifted his weight, causing a springboard effect and said, “Here’s your problem. You have 3, maybe 4 boards that need replacement. The boards will cost extra of course.”
No problem. We hired him because he is a certified installer for the roofing shingles he used, and that secured the 30 year material warranty. Jim Schumacher also has a three year warranty for his own work.
Less than 3 years passed when we experienced an extremely high wind and heavy rain, and the roof again leaked, exactly as before the replacement. When speaking to Jim Schumacher about this, he assured me he would fix the issue “if it was a shingle problem”. But he immediately blamed the chimney (which has been inspected twice in 3 years during cleanings). He assured me he would send the best chimney man in the business along with the roof assessor.
Unfortunately, “best in the business” became “best for his business” as the chimney assessor looked at everything but the chimney, claiming the leak was caused by the furnace condensation, at first, and after my rebuttal regarding the amount of water and that there has never been a condensation problem before, (or since), then he attacked our furnace (also serviced and always functioning properly) for it’s age and threateningly exclaimed “if the county inspector saw that furnace they’d SHUT IT DOWN IMMEDIATELY!”. Again, no furnace issues. In fact it had just been inspected in November: “Operating Normally”. Then the, now angry” chimney expert said “then it’s the ground water underneath the basement.”. I responded, “really, now it’s the ground water underneath the basement, and it’s only a problem within the chimney stack which is in enclosed by not only the house but the garage too.
He became visibly disturbed and barged out of the basement, got into his truck and drove away frantically.
Jim Schumacher has attempted every conceivable excuse not to take care of the roof leak. So, in the meantime I contact another roofing company (A+ Better Business Bureau accreditation). The roof leak is explained perfectly, and received along with detailed information explaining how it needs fixing. That professional roofer also commented multiple times that he did not know what some “gunk” was, which had been applied thickly behind the chimney. It caused a dam, not diverting the rain water as it cascades down the roof. I told him I had witnessed a Jim Schumacher (now I know as a supervisor) adding a lot of sealant, or adhesive, (I don’t know what), when he came to fix loose shingles just days after the new Jim Schumacher roof had been installed. His response was, “I see. Well it’s a lot of gunk, and has eroded by now, allowing the water leak in between the chimney and the cement blocks that in case the brick chimney (in the garage.
Final Assessment: roof leak
But Jim Schumacher, having informed me of his meeting with his attorney friend and discussing this, says his attorney friend and he agreed that I should now permit a home inspector he knows to come and run some water on it to see it it leaks. And he’s offering to fix it if his friend says it’s a materials problem, otherwise he will repair it for approximately $500.
My recommendation: Jim Schumacher hires families, probably here on some type of work permit from the government, to do his work for him. So when he tells you about his years of experience, and working for his family’s business, that’s not the experience you’re receiving when his “crew of 12-15 foreigners” show up to actually do the work. Perhaps they do an excellent job with the “materials” but obviously, with the “heavily applied gunk” Jim Schumacher is not ensuring his company is getting the job done properly. What’s the warranties for if the company is unwilling to honor them, but happy to send various “best in the business” non roofers to assess.
DO NOT HIRE

I just had my roof done on 2/3/25. The crew was here early, started the second they could see and worked like pro's. Chris came by very shortly after to check on the crew and stayed until the materials were delivered to ensure everything was there and correct. When they finished they meticulously went around the house and cleaned up every last piece of old roofing, nails and other debris. I know that's how it's supposed to go but some contractors aren't as tidy as this crew. They actually walked the house 3 times just to make sure it was done properly.
A roof is a big investment so when you have people come out who care about doing the job right as much as you do, it's a breath of fresh air and a weight taken off.
As for the roof itself, I had a quote quickly with no BS and about a week later I had a new roof on. A lot of places treat you stupid because they know you likely don't know anything about the industry. Jim on the other hand does not. He talks to you the way you want and need. Informative, intelligent and most importantly, respectful.
They don't try to upsell you anything and don't try to squeeze you for money by saying somethings wrong when it's not. He's a stand up guy who honestly just wants to do great work for people who work hard for their money. It's a rare thing to see today. Not only will I be recommending Schumacher Roofing to everyone, but I will go out of my way to do it. Thank you to Jim, Chris and the entire crew who did an amazing job and were professional the entire time

My roof was leaking. Josh found that some shingles near the ridge of the roof was missing. He was able to fix it easily.

Jim was great! He had someone come the next day and was able to fix our leaking roofing quickly! Great communication and would highly recommend!

Jim Schumacher and the Schumacher Roofing crew were very helpful in planning and replacement of our roof. The crew were very professional from the removal of the old roof, the new roof and the cleanup. All was completed in one day!

New roof yesterday in 20 degree weather. Crew showed up at 7:30am and were finished at noon. I purchased 2 dozen donuts when they arrived- no one ate a donut until the job was finished! Once the old roof was removed you could see each crew member had an assigned job and the installation was an art to watch - yes I did stay out and watch everything. After their cleanup my deck and yard were spotless. This crew was masterclass 100%!

Had a leak at ridge vent. Josh came out, checked ridge vent and found several loose areas. Used screws to secure ridge vent and caulked top of screws. Also checked other ridge vents for looseness and secured those, drove loose ridge vent nails down and caulked those.
Inspected rest roof. Found a crack in vent pipe boot, put repair cap on it and secured vent flashing.

They came the day after I called to inspect a little leaking from the roof. They quickly found that the problem was not the roof but the flashing around a vent. It was fixed that day.
