We recently just moved into our home built by Schumacher. I can’t say enough good things about them! My husband works out of state and is only able to come home usually once a month, so I was left in charge of dealing with everything to get us a new home built after our previous house caught fire. I was so stressed out thinking about it all but so blessed to have come upon Schumacher! From dig to finish was 4 months! I had so much help with everything from their team that I never once felt overwhelmed! From the start process with Brian, the designer Kira and then Jess and the building team, and Monica were amazing! I can’t say enough about our building manager Bill!!! I had absolutely no worries, he was here every single day checking on things and even changing a few things for us when we changed our mind on things we chose. I for one am going to miss seeing him! I would recommend this team and company to everyone! I never thought building a home would be so easy, but I was never left alone to figure anything out, they were right there to assist me! Thank you so very much Schumacher for getting us back into an absolutely beautiful home!!

They are very professional and have quality homes and go far and beyond to stay within your budget as they did for us and actually we had quite a bit of credit left to go on our principal. I would recommend this office to everyone looking to build their dream home!

Brian has been amazing to work with. My husband and I went in to tour the models and figure out a floor plan that would work for us. A great incentive was going on but had to act fast in order to get it before January 1st. We signed and moved forward with paperwork but as time went on we both didn’t feel comfortable and felt too rushed on our end. We met back up with Brian to finalize our plan and talk through our thoughts and feelings and decided to put our build on hold until the fall. Brian wasn’t pushy or try to talk us into it. He made us feel really comfortable with the whole process and understood where our thoughts were coming from. Thanks Brian! We appreciate your time effort and guidance during this process and can’t wait to build!

We built with Schumacher homes in Bowling Green Ohio in 2016 and have been extremely happy with our home. In October of 2024 I identified an exterior water leak adjacent to a window. I contacted Schumacher to see if they could take care of fixing the problem and after providing them information they agreed to take care of it even though it was outside of the warranty. Within two weeks of contacting Schumacher they had a contractor onsite to repair the small leak. I am extremely impressed that Schumacher of Bowling Green. They stand behind their product and workmanship! Thanks to the team at the Bowling Green Schumacher!

We have been in our dream home for 15 months and are absolutely loving it! The build went up in just four months. Jeff, our builder, was so phenomenal to work with and he knows his stuff. He always kept us updated and answered our questions. We felt he truly had our best interest in mind. The first year after move-in, Schumacher quickly handled when we needed two more heat air vents put in, as two rooms were found to be abnormally cold. Within a day they had someone scheduled, free of charge. We haven’t had any problems otherwise. The only things I was bummed I didn’t think of to ask to upgrade/change before finalizing our plan was options for the following: 1) the color of our floor air registers – our entire house follows a gray scheme, but the registers they put in are tan; 2) the light bulbs to be white light vs daylight in about half of the lights in our house; and 3) soft-close toilet lids. Of course, I can change all those out, but then have no use for the originals. The other small thing we notice today is our carpenter could’ve nailed down the carpet tacks better, as I catch those often, so maybe check those more before move-in.
One thing I will add that I believe is not legally linked at all with Schumacher Homes, but they do business together and may impact the discount or promotion you’re offered, is to have your mortgage through Schumacher Mortgage. Our mortgage was sold to Calcon Mutual Mortgage first, then PHH Mortgage. Working with both has been horrendous. When we moved in, they did not include insurance in our escrow as I signed for, and it took weeks for them to get a payment to my insurance that I had to pay my agent out of pocket while waiting for Calcon. This year, they paid on someone else’s policy out of our escrow account! That one took 11 calls, most 30-60 minutes, to get them to fix it. Every call goes to an overseas call center, we get passed around multiple times in one call, and they don’t take good, if any, notes from previous calls because I always had to retell the story 2-3x in the same call. We went with them originally to take advantage of a $30K discount off our overall price, along with a free refi to use within 5 years, but we’re going to refinance outside PHH. We also inquired Schumacher Mortgage about the rate for the free refi and their rate is much higher than the rates at all six other banks we’ve inquired with. Know this doesn’t change our Schumacher Homes experience, but working with Calcon/PHH is awful. We also had a random amount get added to our principal and it took me 3 calls to get an answer as to what it was for.
Despite the mortgage company headaches, we had the best experience with Schumacher Homes and highly recommend the Bowling Green Team!
Our first review from April 2023: Our dig day was 3/28/23 and we already have the framing near completion. So far our experience with Schumacher has been exceptional! We spoke with four well known builders in the area in 2020 and Schumacher by far was the least pushy/pressuring which for us went a long way. In late 2022 we began speaking with Brian. He was honest, professional, and straight-forward, but without putting pressure to make decisions. He was attentive to what we were looking for at a detailed level, knew the right questions to ask, and was able to customize our plan using the Fieldcrest layout. After we signed, we moved to Elizabeth as our coordinator who walked us through every little detail of the overall quote. She was very quick in her responses. Elizabeth and Brian are both extremely personable and easy to talk to/work with. Karra was also great in our selections meetings. Our pre-construction meeting went smooth. Now we are almost 4 weeks into our build and Jeff, our builder, has been amazing to work with. Easy to get ahold of and he's willing to meet us at the site if we have questions. We are excited to be at this stage of building our dream home and so far wouldn't have changed anything in the process!

Everyone we have come into contact with at the BG office has been wonderful and very responsive! They’ve made the process super easy when we’ve heard horror stories about other builders!

We have had a great experience so far with Schumacher homes. Everyone we’ve worked with has been very knowledgeable, experienced and friendly. Looking forward to continuing this process with them and moving into our home!

We’re in the beginning steps of our home building journey and so far, so good. It’s been exciting and enjoyable to work with the Schumacher team. The model homes were really helpful to get ideas (the pamphlet with each model is nifty for notes). But it wasn’t until we sat down with Brian that we realized that we could change things so they were just right for our situation. He listened to what we were looking for and then offered some great suggestions. Can’t wait to meet the design team.

Keegan Kerr made the difference in our decision to work with Schumacher Homes. His skill set is outstanding with a breadth of knowledge as an architect, providing the answers we needed, along with interactive discussions on design and costs. Our next steps will be critical to assure that Schumacher lives up to our expectations and I will plan to post again after the build is complete, but so far, Keegan, Jess, and Jennifer have all been knowledgeable and great to work with! Divorce-proof build!! When we first talked about building, we looked at several builders and my husband said the only way our marriage would survive is if we used a builder with a design center so we could do one stop shopping! . He was actually right!! The process was so much fun and with picking everything out at the design center and seeing it all together several times, there was no agonizing second guessing. The entire process was great! Of course we had hiccups like on dig day when we found out the water table is higher than we all expected, but we brought in dirt and still were able to have our full basement. It was so much fun to stop by everyday and see the progress and meet the trades doing the work. Everyone was top notch! Nate was phenomenal and caught issues before we could even point them out. His attention to detail is what made this house the beautiful dream home it is! The process flew and from dig day to move in day was less than 4 months!! The funny thing was that on move in day, we were actually sad…we wouldn’t see Nate or the rest of the amazing crews that worked on our house! We have now been in our home for over 2 months and it’s funny how long it took before we felt like we were no longer on vacation staying in someone else’s home ☺️ If it weren’t for this house being exactly where we want to live, we would happily redo this process with the entire Cygnet/BG crew again!! What a dream is all we can say! Keegan, Elizabeth, Karra, Aaron and especially Nate were all AMAZING to work with! We simply cannot say enough good about them! They really are a dream team!! So if you happen to see all the horror stories online about Schumacher like we did, rest assured if you are building in the territory of the Cygnet/BG group! And if you build with them and get the honor of having Nate, you are truly in the hands of a perfectionist and a professional builder!

I stopped in Friday at the Bowling Green, Oh location to get some information on our kitchen cabinet warranty (we had a hinge break) since I was having issues getting information from the cabinet manufacture itself. We built almost 7 years ago now and have only had a few minor issues. I was greeted at the door by Karra who asked what I was in for. She said she would pass my information along but it may be a bit. Karra said I could have a seat or take a look through the model homes to pass the time. I am always up to take a look so I went through their newest model, It was amazing! I loved the door trim and asked Karra what kind it was, she walked back and showed me the sample they have with the name and measurements. I then got to meet with Aaron and told her my issues. She went to the back and found me a few new cabinet hinges. I was so happy, since I wont have to wait and mess around with the manufacture. Aaron asked how the house was and if I had any other problems. This is the reason we went with Schumacher Homes. It's the personal and professional touches that make them amazing! Thank you!

The bowling Green office has gone above and beyond for us and our home. When we had hiccups, they were there to take our calls and relieve our fears. They had our back, even after being in our home for a year. They have remained patient, helpful, and always willing to make things right. I can not express how much the Bowling Green office made our house a home, and we are so blessed to create all of these beautiful memories here with our family. Our builder Bill was always just a phone call away and felt like family by the time we were all done. Monika Hann has had several calls that were not pleasant and still was so helpful, encouraging, and willing to fight for us and get us what we needed. I always loved talking to her, and once business was done, we would chat for at least 15 minutes about life and family. She is so sweet and great to work with. We had a great experience with Schumacher Homes. From the sales staff, to the interior designer to the assigned project manager, our build was stress free. Our project manager kept us informed of the progress along the way, asked us if we had any questions or concerns, and always let us know what to expect next. The total build was completed in just under 6 months, despite some inclement weather. The quality and workmanship is also top notch. We are very happy with how our house turned out.

We cannot say enough about our experience with Schumacher's. We started building on January 28th 2020 and moved in on May 28th 2020. YES...during covid they built our house with no problems. It was absolutely amazing! Brandon was very involved and helped with every question we had. Over this past summer we noticed about 8 pieces of siding were turning a different color than the rest of the house. I reached out to Aaron and she helped us work through the process of having it replaced. Aaron has been FABULOUS to work with ...even 4 years after we moved in! Cully has been great too!! My husband and I joked after we finished building in2020..."which one are we building next!". :) People say building is very stressful, but Schumacher's makes the process easy! HIGHLY recommend the Bowling Green team!

We have been in our Santa Barbara for just over a year and just had our 1-year walkthrough/repairs completed. From beginning to end, everyone at Schumacher seemed to bend over backwards to ensure we were taken care of and happy with our build. Our contractor Nate was amazing and always kept us up to speed on dates when the next steps were happening. Any questions we had along the way were answered immediately. Having a home built is a very stressful event, but the Cygnet Schumacher team helped take most of the stress out of the situation. We could not be happier with our home and the support we received from the Cygnet team!!!

Drove by these model homes for years and never stopped. Well, I finally made it a stop today. These Schumacher homes are quite impressive. They use top grade supplies. The houses even have full basements, are completely decorated, heated and cooled. Luckily it was a cold, and rainy day so we had the houses all to ourselves. The gentleman that signed me in was very friendly and answered all my questions. Now the kicker is if I only had the money to afford one!!

Built with Schumacher homes 4 years ago. We enjoyed the process and the build went well. A month ago I broke a window in the house and couldn’t get a match from any local shop without spending hundreds and waiting an extended period. Out of desperation I contacted Schumacher to see if they had one, they did not…. Then I got a call from them a week later. Aaron there had gone out of her way to see if their suppliers had one and she found one. I couldn’t be more thankful and I highly recommend using Schumacher homes if you’re looking to build.

Everyone we have worked with so far has been very helpful and patient with us. Keegan, Jess, Jeff, and Nick have all been great. We are looking forward to building our home!

We are so pleased with the quality and value of our new home. The team we worked with was professional, quickly answered our questions, setbacks were minimal, our home was completed on time! AND this was shortly after the pandemic when everything seemed to be on backorder. We could not have worked with a better group of dedicated people.

We chose Schumacher in Bowling Green to build our home. They did a great job with the planning and layouts of the house. We had a great experience with our Project Manager and internal support group. The process was smooth.
There were two issues that occurred after the house was complete. I was not sure how they would respond. They took care of both issues, a several months, if not over a year after the house was completed. It’s important to take care of the customer after the work is done, and that’s exactly what they did. I would recommend this location for your next build.

One of the best parts of working with Schumacher Homes out of BG was their communication. Everyone we worked with was very timely, especially our manager; he was able to get everything answered or make contact with sub-contractors within the same day. A lot of great people at this office!

Schumacher Homes had many styles of plans to choose from and they allowed us to make the changes we wanted to create our dream home. Brian communicated everything we needed to know up front. Jess was super at coordinating and managing things before our dig day and Nick added his expertise to help us finalize our build. Bill was our project manager and he was wonderful at being our best advocate to get the quality home we wanted and such a pleasure to work with during our building process. UPDATE AFTER BUILDING: I originally left a review as we were in the design phase, but I wanted to come back on and leave a review now that we’ve been in our house for a month. We love our Schumacher home, and couldn’t have gotten to this point without the entire team at Schumacher’s BG campus. Brian, Karra, Elizabeth, Aaron, and especially our builder Nate were great to work with. Being a picky person, I especially appreciated Nate’s attention to detail. I have spoken with other people who have built with Schumacher, trade partners, and others, and I have NEVER heard a single negative thing about Nate. We only have positives to share as well. Thanks to everyone at the BG campus for helping us with our dream home!

We have had a great experience throughout the pre-construction phase with Schumacher Homes. This is our third built house and we have been extremely picky, while determining what makes the most sense for our current family dynamics. Our Customer Coordinator, Jess Wagner, has been organized, responsive and attentive. She has been flexible to meet with us virtually, during our work lunches, so that we do not need to take time away from our jobs and/or family. Furthermore, she was able to take our photos and ideas and make them into a reality! She has been able to communicate expectations to us clearly and with her team to get us moving right along. We cannot wait to see the final product and definitely recommend Schumacher Homes!

This whole experience was a joke. Schumacher messed up on a quote and tried to charge us an additional $15k after their initial estimate was $5k and after the final meeting before we started building. This was just for tapping the line across the street. Dig day comes and we ask if we need fill dirt. Brian was our contractor at the time and he said no. We’ll get enough out of the basement. Fast forward a couple months. My entire property was flooded with no way to get to the house. Come to find out after no help from Schumacher that their people that laid our driveway had poured stone all over the field tile we used rig drainage. Follow that with the rainiest summer we had in years. To “resolve” the issue, I had to pay $25k for a storm sewer, field tile, AND 50 LOADS OF FILL DIRT THAT I WAS TOLD I DIDNT NEED. I still have flooding issues due to the mishandling of this from beginning to end. IM STILL WAITING ON MY WARPED DOOR TO GET REPLACED WHICH IM SURE WILL JUST SO HAPPEN TO ARRIVE AT THE SAME TIME THE NEW SCHUMACHER BUILD NEXT DOORS WILL HAVE THEIRS INSTALLED. Their excuse was that we live in an area that floods which isn’t labeled a flood zone. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Amazing customer service. The building process was smooth. Our house is gorgeous and well built! If we ever have the opportunity to build a second home, it will be without a doubt with Schumacher Homes.

Schumacher is a great company for building your home. The time they take in going over floor plans and providing you a quote is exceptional. We met with them several times before actually being able to proceed with our build. I would highly recommend anyone go in and speak with them if you're even thinking about building your own home! They take the time to go over every detail and option with you when reviewing floor plans and options to quote you your home. The way they treat their customers is exceptional!

We had a wonderful experience building with Schumacher in Bowling Green. It is a long process, but worth it in the end! We scheduled an appointment not knowing if we were going to build or buy, and I am so glad we did! Pam was very helpful and knowledgeable regarding what exactly we were looking for in our home. She answered all of our questions, during our appointment and after! Karra was awesome for selections, also incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about different options that would work best for our build. Elizabeth was so patient with me and the stress of getting us to dig day! And what can I say, Nate our construction manager became my BFF during the process of the build! He was very responsive and typically on it before I would even mention any concerns during the build. Aaron also amazing dealing with the draws and getting us to our final close! This is a great team to work with!

We looked at several builders and met with them about building. The building process was streamlined by their professional staff. This wasn’t our first home so we knew what we wanted. The folks at the Cygnet location were amazing to work with. From design to taking possession was smooth and pleasant. The quality of their work is amazing and they kept their promises to us. I give Schumacher the highest recommendation and review possible . If you want a quality home and a stress free process, go with Schumacher!

Every step of the process was exceptional. Looking at different floor plans/quotes with Pam, my design meeting with Karra, and working with Nate throughout the build process. Everyone was thorough and transparent. Couldn’t have asked for a better team to build my home!

We are preparing to build with Schumacher homes and so far the experience has been incredible! Brian Nelson is so knowledgeable, polite, and honest! His help with the design of our dream home was invaluable. Never felt any pressure from him, and he even helped save money on a few items with his own personal experiences from building. 100% recommend!

After new construction they left a horrible spot in the drywall above the refrigerator . I recently after only five years of construction dug up the front post that had completely been deteriorated on the front porch I had to sister a board on just make it safe for my family until they can fix it when I called them they sent me to somebody else and now it’s gonna cost me more than the repair will cost just to have them fix it this was doneWith horrible lumber and no concrete for the posts on the front porch. Do not recommend!

What an EXPERIENCE!!! When it comes to fine homebuilding, the folks at Schumacher leave no detail unattended. This really is the best place to meet designers, builders & decorators in one trip. They will help you find land, prep-site, and build a beautiful modern home with the best materials and touches around. Very pleased with our visit.

Brian Nelson has been nothing less than fantastic. We took a little time to figure out what we wanted, and to get where we needed to be, but he was always patient - never pushy. There was never a question that he didn't have an answer to. Even when it was technically out of his scope. Super knowledgeable! But best of all, he was personable and easy to talk to. We couldn't of asked for anyone better!

I'm using my daughter's gmail account to give this review, so it's Kathy Bush not Megan Bush. :-) My husband Ben and I have been married 43 years and this is the first time we have had a home built. We are blessed to have a lake front property in the Lakeside= Marblehead Ohio area and we decided to tear down our old cottage and use Schumacher Homes to build a new home. Best decision EVER. From the very start each and every person we worked with has taken the time to be patient with us and explain each and every thing we needed explained. Our builder, Scott Fressie is simply the best! He never once made us feel as if he did not have the time for us in his busy schedule. We truly feel as if we have made a new friend. The entire Schumacher process with the design centers is genius. It makes the entire process so simple! The materials that they use are high quality and there is no skimping on anything. They are not done with you after the build either. Schumacher Homes continues to take care of their customers with their warranty. Many thanks to each and every one of our team members for a job well done!

We had our house built 4 yrs ago and we started to notice water getting in and being trapped behind the garage door opening trim. I brought this up to customer service and they sent someone out to fix it without questions. This reminds me of a small town local business that cares about there prior clients. Keep up the good work

We built with Schumacher thru Bowling Green almost 5 years ago. Long story short, the roofers had installed portions of the roof incorrectly and it was sliding off. I was nervous that with so much time gone by and a voided warranty on the shingles, I would get stuck with a bill. However working with the warranty department and the Bowling Green office, I was pleasantly surprised and they stood behind their work. They came out and removed and replaced the back slope of the roof on our house. Nice to know someone stands behind their work in this day and age.

This building businesses is the fastest yet. I went to my house to check on it, and they were working really hard and had alot done. We had no issues with the housing and moved in pretty fast.

This is an update to my review from a few years back. We have now lived in our Schumacher home for 4 years and we are still happy with it. There are a few things we would have changed but that's on us. Last winter we had a pipe freeze and I called Aaron and she still (even after 3+ years) remembered us and sent a repair guy (Cully) out to look at the problem. He found that the wind over the year had blown a bat of insulation over that exposed the pipe. He fixed it NO CHARGE. It's great that even years after they built our home, that they care enough to still come out and help. Thank you Schumacher!!

Update: We have finished building our home and it was not exactly what we expected. I believe the company, in general, is a good company and our general contractor was amazing to work with. However, the subcontractors Paul Schumacher homes hires were not good enough. We had more bad experiences than good with the subcontractors. Generally, the problems we had were fixed, but it was not without wasted time and frustration. By the end, we decided we would just fix some of the smaller issues ourselves. So, we are in our home now and it’s beautiful, but I can’t help but become frustrated as I walk around my new home and see lazy work not done properly. I am currently touching up paint, walls, and baseboards, for example, that should have been done right the first time. The painters were just one of the problematic subcontractors hired by Paul Schumacher.

Original post: Our home building process has just begun, but we’ve had an excellent experience thus far. Brian, our home consultant, and Amanda, the customer coordinator made creating and coordinating the home building process smooth. They were quick to return phone calls, emails, and answered our endless questions with care and concern. So far, we’ve had a wonderful experience and have recommended them to friends.

My wife and I had an excellent experience with Schumacher homes. We went through the Bowling Green office and they were fantastic.

Brian Nelson was our sales representative and was very knowledgeable about the process. He was very good about communication and always answered our questions. He was personable and showed that he cared about his job and ensuring his clients had a good experience. We are happy that we spoke to and met with Brian Nelson and were able to choose and design our home that we love. Brian was awesome though the entire process and gave us options rather then just one opinion or idea. Brian continued to keep in contact with us during the build and after. He is an exceptional sales representative and a good person.

Scott Fressie was our builder and we could not have asked for a better person to build with. Scott worked long hours at all his projects but always had time for us. He always kept us up to date with the building process. He always returned our calls and was always communicating with us. If we ever had a concern, scott would handle it appropriately and effectively. We were very satisfied with Scott and his exceptional work. The home he built for us is fantastic and we love the home. He was able to keep work flowing smoothly and our home was built in 100 days from the first hole in the ground to us taking possession of our keys.

Overall very good experience and if we ever built again we would go back to Schumacher homes and and ask for Brian Nelson and Scott Fressie again. Thank you to Schumacher homes and the Bowling Green office.

My family and I cannot thank Schumacher Homes Bowling Green enough for the excellent job they did in building our dream home! From start to finish the process went so smoothly and I know that has a lot to do with the wonderful staff at their office. A special shout out to Brandon Chupa our builder, he did a tremendous job. He was always professional, answered any and all of our questions in a timely fashion, and constantly kept us updated about progress on our home. Building a new house can be extremely stressful, but what a great job Shumacher Homes did in making the process as seamless as possible. we have so much appreciated Scott Fressie's (Our Builder) unwavering support and follow up throughout our building process. As we all know, building is not easy and things do not go perfectly despite how much we are prepared for the process. From the beginning, Scott has addressed every problem we found, never once making us feel like we were a pain or inconveniencing him. He never minimized our concerns and made sure each item that needed to be addressed was taken care of correctly. Even now that our house is complete, he remains in touch via text and has come over several times to fix things we found. Again, he is nothing but kind and patient, and always tells us he is just down the road building another house if we need anything. Many issues he has fixed himself rather than wait on someone else to fix them. His experience was evident and valued by us as a first time home builder. In a day and age of declining customer service, Scott exemplifies what caring for the customer truly should be. We are thankful that he has been with us through this process, and truly appreciate all he has done to help us finally be in our dream home!

My wife and I have visited the Delaware , Akron and today the Bowling Green Schumacher Model Home centers in the last three weekends...We were not impressed with any of the stores customer service representatives they seem to lack the time to even acknowledge that you might be a potential buyer...The Bowling Green store by far was the worst...After standing inside for over 15 minutes we decided to walk out and look at the homes they had on site...We returned back to the center to have some questions we had answered...After 5 minutes of not seeing a sales representative I had enough....Needless to say the $300,000 my wife and I have to spend within the next 6 months will not be going to Schumacher Homes.....
