Schottenstein Roofing

I went to a website of "the 10 best roofers in Columbus" and selected Schottenstein as 1 of the 3 we interviewed. Daniel was very friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and no pressure whatsoever. He asked what my #1 hot button issue was, and I said quality workmanship. Too many contractors, it seems these days, do poor to mediocre work or leave issues unresolved, and you wonder what you spent all that money for. I told him at the close that I wanted to be their next 5-star review, and he said he wanted to earn it.

This did not drive our decision, but they were the least expensive of the 3 quotes and also had the best warranty.

Lead time was said to be 4-6 weeks, but turned out to be around 3 (under promise and over deliver). Tom called the day before, and the next morning a large crew was already starting and completed the entire in a day. Very impressed with the workers and their work, and the cleanup was TRULY REMARKABLE. We have not found a single nail yet in almost a week (and I've already mowed) and there were ZERO shingle scraps left anywhere. None.

This is one 5-star review that I am proud to give. Daniel and the team EARNED IT.

I was recommended by a friend to contact Schottenstein Roofing to come inspect my roof. In a matter of days, they were out inspecting my roof. When they came back to do an inspection with my insurance company it was decided that insurance would not cover my roof. The representative from Schottenstein Roofing Said he would send me a quote for repairs. after a weeks time I reached out to him and he told me he was waiting on a few things from his boss. Still I never heard back from the company. I have emailed them twice and even reached out to the guy that did my inspection and they have ghosted me ever since. I think once they figured out that they weren’t going to get a new roof from me but only repairs they decided I wasn’t worth their time. I do not recommend this company what so ever.

I am adding to this review that I made over 2 weeks ago just so everyone knows that even though the owner said he would look into this issue he in fact did not. If he did he never reached out to me … the costumer. Their website says they value people over profit. I’m not sure that is the case.

I have not used Schottenstein personally however, that being said, my brother Allen Hunter works here and has practiced his Sales pitch and reviewed the products with me as if I were a customer. In my opinion this shows dedication to the business and the customer. I would definitely contact him in the future if I need any roof repair done. I wish I had this company 5 years ago when I had my roof replace because I can confidently say, I would have a quality roof with a quality price after negotiations with the insurance company. The best part is Allen negotiates with insurance company saving the client the headache of a long wait time and frustration with the insurance company. I recently had a positive encounter with your sales representative, Joel. He inspected our roof, explained that there may be a couple of places to watch, but in overall good condition. I appreciate his polite manner and informative comments.

Schottenstein Roofing showed up right on time and finished effectively and on schedule. They did a great job cleaning up at the end of the day.

I’m giving 5 stars because I can’t give 4.5. There are a few things that need improvement. First of all the positives: Workers did an excellent job. Secondly Eric Winter is wonderful to work with and made the process smooth and thorough. Improvements: Removing a new roof is a noisy business but the workers compounded that by blasting music. Didn’t bother me because I was up but it bothered my nextdoor neighbor. Workers need to consider the noise factor when they start at 7 am. Secondly, there was no proactive communication with me at the end of the work day. They worked until dusk and just left. I didn’t know if they were done or if they would finish the next day. I also let them use an electrical outlet in my garage. They didn’t even bother to knock on the door to let me know to lock the garage entry door. I had to reach out to Mr Winter to find out if: they were done, to get someone to remove an assortment of materials and debris from my yard and to find out how much extra I owed for replacement wood. Luckily Mr Winter escalated and answered all these questions .

We contacted Schottenstein Roofing to obtain one of three estimates for our home and garage, as we believed that hail damage existed. Eric Winter came out at our earliest convenience, and thoroughly explained the entire process, even showing us samples of the high quality materials they utilize. The time Eric Winter spent with us, and the information he shared far exceeded our previous estimate experiences. Eric Winter was also extremely knowledgeable about the insurance process, including our own insurance provider. Eric Winter's assistance and ongoing involvement with our insurance provider in this process was absolutely invaluable. Additionally, Eric Winter was always very responsive to any texts or calls. The installation only took one day, and Diego consistently kept us updated in reference to the install and any issues. The crew did an exceptional job of cleaning up, including the magnetic pick up of any nails on the ground. Schottenstein Roofing and Eric Winter will have us as customers for life.

These guys were great. Brett helped a bunch on the sales side, and Diego and the team were awesome putting the roof on. Very attentive to cleanup, even spray painted some of the rusted vents with color/protection to match the roof. Incredibly happy with the price, the product, and the people.

The day they put the roof on was very cold but that did not stop the men from working they put the whole roof on in one day did a beautiful job and came back the next morning and worked 4 hours 5 hours more doing the cleanup which was wonderful. I rate them a five and Eric winter was wonderful to work with. I give him five too.

I dealt with Eric , he was very professional and very knowledgeable about the business. The workers showed up first thing in the morning and completed the job in one day. . They also did a fantastic job cleaning up. The new roof looks absolutely great couldn’t have asked for a better job. I would definitely recommend Schottenstein’s roofing if you need a roof.

I had gotten several estimates from other well known companies in the area, but none of them offered any help when it came to dealing with my insurance company. For that part, I was on my own. That is until I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Eric Winter. I felt like I finally had someone on my side and a real advocate when it came to getting what I deserved from my insurance. Eric was there to explain everything from beginning to end and never made me pay a penny more than what I was quoted. If it wasn’t for him, I really don’t know how I would have gotten my roof replaced. It was truly a weight off my shoulders. The roof looks great and I know it will last for many years to come. Ask for Eric and you will not be disappointed.

Schottenstein roofing repaired my roof based on my insurance company specifications, And did a wonderful job at it. Workmanship was phenomenal, crew was excellent and efficient. They’re even going to go to bat for us with the insurance company because the colors didn’t match and the insurance company only would pay for part of the roof being replaced , so they will try to get the entire roof covered, based on Ohio law.

Schottenstein Roofing was great to work with. I requested quotes from a few roofing companies and found that Schottenstein provided the largest scope of work for the money. They were super easy to work with throughout the process and communicated consistently so I knew what to expect and when the work would be done. During the job, they took extra measures to not leave nails lying around the yard which was key for the safety of our pets. Finally, I am really happy with the work. We had several individuals come to our door claiming to be roofers, eager to speak to our insurance company. They all seemed shady and unprofessional and we had no interest in dealing with them. However when Daniel Choi knocked on our door, he presented himself with professionalism and dignity. Daniel Choi couldn’t been more polite and caring. We had a lot of storm damage and our house has had windows and siding replaced and looks like a brand new home. Even got to pick a way different color so it’s still a huge shocker. We have lived here 25 years and have always loved our home. "Absolutely no soliciting. Do not ring bell or knock", specifically states "no salesman, no estimates, no tags"

After review of doorbell camera footage, the rep looked and read it but still left the tag anyway. Hence the 1-star.

Not sure what it's about roofing companies like Schottenstein, but this is third incident in 3 months in which a roofing company ignored the sign. Every other door-to-door service has abided by it.

I cannot put trust in a company that can't read clear posted signage or worse, disregards it in hope of a sale.

Stephanie Schottenstein was very cooperative and constructive in the roof installation process. She was very helpful in the paperwork aspect of the process. Overall, she was very accommodating and kind. I recommend working with Stephanie when considering installing a new roof!
