Scesney roofing just completed my roofing job and I am very pleased with the results. They got it done quick and they cleaned everything up like they were never there. They had to come back to fix an issue that was miscommunicated and took care of it with no issues. I would recommend them to anyone.

Choosing a roofing company can be daunting, especially when you're a single woman with little knowledge of the trade. But after hearing glowing recommendations from neighbors on Deer Isle who had used Scesny Roofing, I decided to take the leap. I'm so glad I did!
From my very first interaction, Chris and Dale were absolutely fantastic. They were incredibly prompt in getting me a competitive quote and took the time to explain every step of the process in detail. They walked me through the various material choices without ever making me feel pressured or rushed. Their clear communication immediately put my nerves at ease.
I was particularly impressed when they were able to schedule my large, tall, and steep roof - which has complex multiple rooflines - for the exact week I wanted. What truly amazed me was their efficiency; they completed the entire job in just two days! The new roof looks absolutely fantastic, and I couldn't be happier with the results.
The professionalism continued even after the work was done. When Chris came to pick up the old roofing debris, he brought his drone to conduct a thorough final inspection and show me the meticulous work up close.

After reading the reviews, I thought that I was getting an experience roofer, but sadly when it came down to getting my roof done…. Chris came over and dropped three trailers off and ran over my well cover and broke it completely but did not inform me that he did so… I then gave Chris the down payment for the shingles because he brought the supplies over, but then had a problem with Chris signing the contract for my roof and my gutters, I still never got them to sign the contract for the gutters because he never came back. He sent other people to collect his checks. I emailed Chris about all of my concerns and he came to my home at night time without informing me and took drone pictures of my roof and said your roof is fine But didn’t actually communicate with me to see what my concerns were, I had to print out the contract and ask him to sign it, and it didn’t state fully what he was offering… Chris only showed up to the job site twice during the work of the roof and did not show up at all when the gutters were being done, when I would go to talk to him about concerns I had he would take off… The roofers put a hole in my roof and broke my porch by dropping something off the roof, they did fix my porch but not the roof…. In the contract, it stated that I was to get 5000 ft.² of 50 year shingles with a 25 year warranty through scesny roofing It also stated that if there was any boards damaged on the roof, that two boards were free and any after that I would be charged for…
During the process of them fixing my roof, they neglected to take out two completely rotted boards. They continued to jump on those boards and cave them in and then it took me forever to get Chris to reply to me to get it fixed and then he sent a crew over with the wrong materials and they weren’t able to actually fix each of the molded broken boards all they replaced was a 2 x 6 board on my roof and then layered it with shingles because it was the wrong size Wood He also gave those contractors the wrong information as to where the problem was and did not give them the materials to completely fix what needed to be fixed. I would not recommend going through this company. I really was hopeful about it, but I had a bad experience others may have better experiences. But I am extremely disappointed that I paid so much money for a roof and I was lied to manipulated and now I have a hole in my roof and one and a half rotted boards that probably will never be fixed by Scesny Roofing even though supposedly there’s a 25 year warranty on his work!

These guys were the best from start to finish I had a small job that got done during peak season few shingles separated rake trim missing and squirrels chewed my soffit which they repaired and looks great Chris and Dale are the guys to go too big or small they do it all

Chris and Dale and their team did an excellent job repairing some wind damage to my roof! Great communication and Dale was so pleasant to work with on the estimate. I would absolutely seek these guys out again next time I need roof work (which hopefully won't be anytime soon)!

I can’t say enough good things about Scesny roofing. I tried a few other contractors when it was time for my roof to get done. They were either really expensive or they never responded. When I found Scesny roofing and called that was it. Chris and his employees are very professional. The work was outstanding and his prices can’t be beat. Since my roof was completed I’ve had Scesny do many other big projects. They’re really good with all phases of home building.

Outstanding Company. Very Informative, Dale & Chris were very responsive throughout the whole process. They showed when they said they would which was about a week after I signed the contract. they did a repair job on my uncle’s roof a day after my uncle called. They were there and redid the chimney flashing and replaced some shingles and my uncle was very pleased.

I just had the entire roof replaced by the crew at Scesny Roofing. They were great to work with. Dale was communicative and responsive. They had a decent selection of shingles to choose from. They did the work when they said they would and left the place as if they were never there (clean and spotless). I told my real estate agents to keep their contact info on file so they can refer other homeowners with roofing needs.

Great experience from start to finish. They were able to strip and reshingle my 35-square roof in one day, and were by and FAR the best price in the greater Bangor area. Cleanup was a 9/10 - we did find a few nails but to be expected with the area they had and the diminishing light at the end of the day. Would Definitely recommend.

It was a fantastic job orchestrated by Scesny Roofing and performed by the crew of Josh Batey. The job was extremely tacking and complicated but the challenge was over come with great success.

Excellent work, follow up, and communication. Returned promptly and thoroughly cleaned up any remaining roofing nails and trash after the first pass had some oversights. Over the past year, they also returned as needed and re-sealed around a problematic granite block chimney after high wind/rain storms produced leaking.

Scesny Roofing is reasonably priced and they have a good warranty on their work. I needed a badly damaged dormer with asphalt shingles completely re-shingled to comply with my home insurer, and they knocked it out in a couple of hours with no issues.

Thank you, Scesny Roofing! That was quite a wind storm last December! The high winds tore about half of the shingles from the front slope of the main section of our roof. We found Scesny Roofing’s listing in our parish bulletin. Chris arrived on the same day we called to assess the damage. His team installed a temporary cover until a final quote could be prepared and reviewed by our insurance adjuster. With the quote accepted his team scheduled us, and a few days later they got to work. They removed all the remaining shingles and nails from that roof section, and installed a new ridge line vent and new shingles (which matched perfectly to the other undamaged areas). We feel fortunate and thankful Chris was able to fit us into their busy schedule. We highly recommend them for roofing installations or repairs. Great quality of work. Very affordable and came in lower than other estimates I had received. Work withstood the windstorm without a single issue. Dale, and the roofing crew were professional and did a great job from the estimate process to the installation. Highly recommended for new roof installation.

Chris was not the cheapest bid. He committed to compete the job in our time frame. His sub had a problem and Chris stepped up and, with no argument, took responsibility and sent his team back in to redo the roof. While we did not expect a problem he solved it and the final product is very good. The final workmanship is at our spec level. He communicated and was very pleasant through the entire job, a big job doing 8 buildings. We would definitely recommend him and use him again.

Dale Curtin & Scesny Roofing and crew just finished a standing rib metal roof in Somesville, Mt. Desert, Maine. The three-story building has a high pitched roof. The project was done in a timlely manner and they were very clean in their work. The finished product was of great quailty.

Great service. Shingles were removed and replaced in one day. I added leafless gutters as well they look great a tree branch broke off during hurricane Lee and damaged gutters Chris had someone here fast to repair I'd recommend to anyone needing roof and gutters.

This is my second review of Scesny Contracting about four years after my first review. First of all, I appreciate the fast response of this company. They came to my door within the first 24 hours of my call, and the repair was done in the next couple of days with a fair price. As I have reviewed before, Scesny Contracting is a very good business in my opinion. I hired them four years ago, hired them one week ago, and will definitely hire them again for repair work in the future.
