Mike is a great craftsperson and an all around wonderful human. He helped me and my husband with a wide range of improvements on our house that included fine woodworking, interior/exterior trimwork, framing, roofing, decking, kitchen cabinetry modifications, door installation, constructing/installing countertops, and more!

I also did project coordinating for another family's home remodel that Mike was a part of, and he was a pleasure to work with on that as well. Mike has extensive knowledge and skills in so many areas of the build process, and still manages to pay close attention to every detail. He has excellant communication skills and is above all a very kind person. He cares about people and about doing exceptional work.

My husband and I have a new home build on the horizon, and we hope to have the opportunity to partner with Mike on that project as well.

I've actually built with Mike and his crew. He's the most intensely present and careful builder I've ever had the pleasure to build with. If he's available and willing you'd be a fool to go elsewhere.

From first consultation to wrapup, Mike communicated promptly, consistently, clearly, and with scrupulous care for both quality and cost savings at each step of the way. I cannot recommend anyone in Portland more highly for project management, wooden deck fabrication and installation, drywall installation (new kitchen drop ceiling), kitchen countertop fabrication and installation (new custom butcher block), and assorted repairs to lath-and-plaster walls and plumbing. There may be more that I am forgetting! The best thing about my experience was that Mike listened, always got back to me quickly about large or small questions, and never sounded anything less than 100% genuine on phone, email, and text. If you can get Saw and Paw on your schedule, I expect you will be glad you did.

The timber frame they have created for us is literally awe inspiring for every single person that has laid eyes on it and is a consistent point of conversation for every guest we host. The values imbued to us through this project will out live us all and cast a lifeline of respect and deference to nature that future generations will feel in their soul. We would not hesitate to commission Saw and Paw for our future projects and can highly recommend that you do the same.
