Ability Plus Roofing

My neighbor who works in construction referred me to Ability Plus Roofing and I'm glad he did. They came in at a good price, Carrie in the home office was always on point when it came to communications and coordination, I never felt upsell pressure in the slightest, and the work was done promptly and well. A lot of roofing companies come and go. There's a reason Ability Plus has stood the test of time. I don't know if anybody *wants* to put money into their roof but when you *need* to do just that, you want quality at a competitive price from a company characterized by professionalism. And that's exactly what I feel I got.

Great customer service and attentiveness to customer needs. I had a roof leak, and was referred to Ability Plus by a neighbor. Both the front office (Carrie) and the roofing specialist (Roman) were very friendly, courteous, timely, and communicative. After assessing our roof, Roman determined that our problem likely was being caused by our chimney, and recommended we use the services of a brick mason. Although we therefore did not actually use Ability Plus for roofing, I was impressed by the professionalism of Roman and Carrie, and greatly appreciated Roman's honest assessment. Great experience!

Two years ago we discovered that most of the rubber vent boots on the roof had deteriorated. We called Ability Plus and they sent a crew out. They inspected the roof and then made the needed repairs to vent boots and also some flashings around the chimney.

I write this two years later because the repairs were excellent and are still holding up well. In addition, I was pleasantly surprised at the reasonable price for those repairs.

I've been working with Carrie w/ Ability Plus Roofing for the last 7 years now. We refer all of our clientele to them for roofing needs. Great service. Everyone I spoke to in the office, the owner and workers onsite were friendly and easy to work with. The folks at Ability Plus Roofing delivered in every way to repair our roof that was damaged after a recent wind storm. The damage we saw wasn't as extensive as many of our neighbors but Karl and Carrie made us feel like we were important in their efforts to provide a bid and to make the repairs. Their bid was competitive and the quality of the repairs was exceptional. Post-repair, they cleaned up and probably left the ground area surrounding the repair in better shape than it was when they arrived. Ability Plus is A+ in every way!

Beware of Ability Roofing for repairs! We contacted Ability Plus Roofing for an estimate on replacing our failed ridge caps iOctober 2023. On their recommendation, we agreed to have them do a repair instead of a full replacement. Their company assured us that this was not an unusual repair for roof caps, and that they performed this work regularly. A full contract of the work to be completed was agreed on to include fully seal hip and ridge shingles/ridges and seal all exposed nails. After their employee came on Oct 31, 2023, and did the job, we were supposed to receive pictures of the work completed. The employee didn’t let us know he was finished with the job, he just left at some point in the day. No pictures were provided despite multiple requests on our part. We received different answers as to why no pictures had been sent. The file was too big, the email address wouldn’t allow the files to be received. An additional email address was provided, but still no pictures. However, we did get notification that our payment was past due despite not receiving an invoice. We requested a copy of the invoice, and paid immediately by check placing it in the mail that business day. When they had not received the check in 5 days, we received a call asking why they had not received payment? As the check was mailed, I couldn’t explain this but did again ask for the pictures of the completed work. Ability received payment within the next day or so and we let it go, never receiving the requested pictures. During the wind storm on March 9, 2024, a skylight blew off our roof. We contacted a roofer who came the same day as water poured through the missing skylight. To our surprise, the roofer inspecting the damage to the skylight reported that the ridge caps r and nails had not been properly or completely sealed as per the contract. He proceeded to provide us with multiple pictures which clearly showed this problem. We contacted Ability the next business day and informed them of the poor work that had been performed and sent them copies of the pictures without difficulty. We requested a refund for the work not completed by Ability as we now had little trust they had ever intended to do the job properly in the first place and we were now needing to replace the ridge caps as first requested. Ability responded that they would not issue a refund, they were only willing to come and re-do the job. That was the extent of their guarantee. Unfortunately, as senior citizens we would not be able to access the roof to inspect any job done by Ability and declined to have them return. We are now out the original payment plus the cost of having the replacement completed months after torrential downpours over the past months. Pictures of the work done by Ability are attached. Homeowner be advised.

We had a small leak and Ability Plus did the repair job for us within a reasonable amount of time. They provided pictures of repair afterwards and it turned out to be less than what we anticipated the cost/what was quoted. they did a great job and Carrie was very helpful! will use them again for sure.

Ability Plus was quick to come out and give us a quote. They were competitively priced and were able to complete the job quickly and efficiently. Would 100% use them again.

I contracted with Ability to replace my roof and am very happy with the work and highly recommend them. Ability Plus Roofing took off our old cedar shake roof and put in a terrific Certainteed Presidential TL roof, along with new gutters. We couldn't be happier with their work. Everything was perfect, from communication with us through the work and cleanup. It looks fantastic, and we'd recommend them to everyone. Nice!

Ability Roofing replaced our roof in January, in the rain and they did a truly amazing job. Even though it was raining they kept the inside of the house dry. They gave me daily updates of where they were in the process and any challenges they came accross. I have an older house which needed quite a few panels replaced because of dry rot and they did a great job of fitting the new panels into the existing roof. There quote was pretty much right on, I did pay a little more but that was for the new panels which I was already of aware of what the cost would be so there were no surprises. This is a truly honest business and I highly recommend them! Big thanks to Carrie Porter, there office manager who kept me updated a long the way!

Ability was very responsive when I called them after discovering a leak in my roof. Karl was out the same day to inspect and provide repair options. The next business day I had a proposal and was able to schedule the repair quickly and at a time that worked for me. Carrie in the office was very responsive to my questions and was easy to work with when scheduling my repair. The repair was completed in a timely manner and the new tiles were matched well and blend in with the rest of the roof. Pricing was fair, all the employees I worked with were very professional, and I am pleased with the work that was done.

The two gentlemen who came out to give us our estimate were friendly, professional, and prompt with emailing us a bid. The gentleman who installed our skylight did an excellent job. We were charged what the bid was for. We really appreciate the prompt, excellent service. We were happy that it didn't take very long at all from start to finish. They were very honest and charged us a very good price. The bid doesn't include any cosmetic work that might need to be done to the inside. We were fine with that. I had Ability Plus Roofing replace my entire roof two years ago and they did a fantastic job. They had great communication and were very accommodating to all my needs. Not many companies are such a pleasure to work with that you remember them 15 years later, but that was the case when I called Ability Plus for a minor leak repair/vent replacement on my roof that they installed so many years ago. Their customer service and overall fairness make them a great company to work with. And, my vent no longer leaks! Recommended!

They replaced my roof last winter. So far the workmanship is good. During the project the communication was bad. Really bad. I was very specific to 3 different people that I wanted to know BEFORE changes were made to the project but that didn't happen. They went from replacing 3 boards to replacing 11 boards without my approval first. Big jump in price. I was at the home during the entire project so it's not liked they weren't able to get in touch with me to tell me about the changes. They left the project almost complete leaving me to make call after call for 3 weeks asking when the roof was going to be finished. Really nice folks aside from all that.

My roof was leaking, but not into the house, but also not into the gutter. Ability Plus inspected the problem and quickly came up with a solution. The problem was solved and repairs made. I make this comment as the problem was a real challenge and Ability Plus rose to the occasion and did an outstanding job.

I was very pleased with the reviews and also my follow up calls to homeowners who used them. The owner came over and spent quite of bit of time to find out my needs, explain process and answer any questions I had. Not pushy sales but very informative. I got 4 bids and Ability Plus was not the cheapest but what sold and impressed me was the service and follow up. They were my first choice from first interview. I would 100% recommend them and would use them again.

My old roof was a three layer tear off so new plywood and shingles needed. The 3-4 guys worked long hours for three days. The results along with new gutters are beautiful. Five stars from start to finish. Highly recommend.

Not only did they get out to provide an estimate the next day they made arrangements to get out the next business day to complete the work. I had Ability roofing replace my roof a month ago. I had 4 bids all with in $1,00 except 1 who was much, much more. As the owner of a property management company as well as a home owner who has replaced more roofs that I could count, these people were exceptional. I thoroughly researched them before engaging their services. Our roof was a $20,000 expenditure and for that large an expense, I wanted it done right. And it sure was. From first contact through installation and post installation inspections, these folks were very professional. I spoke with the office staff and both owners. There was a small thing their own inspector caught and took care of. We also had a problem with the driveway due to the shingle delivery truck and it was attended to immediately. Knowing we were in the middle of a real estate transaction and didn't have time to get other bids, they gave us a scam bid for more than 10k over any of the other four bids we received just days later. We hired Ability Plus to reroof our home, which had an 18-year old cedar shingle roof on spaced sheathing, with a Certainteed composition product. A+'s quote was detailed and almost 50% less than one we got from a comparable company. The pre-work communication was good.

Our job, while not large, was complicated by having to resheath, and with multiple roof planes, sidewall conditions, dormers & skylights. The crew of four, led by Edgar, was very productive and finished the work in four days. Cleanup was done each day and no unprotected openings left. There were a couple minor internal miscommunications but nothing substantive.

There was not payment due until the job was complete and they have a 10-year workmanship guarantee. I am an architect so my standards are pretty high, but I highly recommend Karl & Dave's company.

Extremely well done! Came right away as house was sold. Stripped off the old shingles, shored up sagging areas and resheeted over the repaired area. Completed the whole job in 2.5 days. Looks great and they did a great job cleaning up. Definely will recommend them!

The crew was very professional and did excellent job and then cleanup afterwards. The team from Ability Plus Roofing installed an architectural style shingle roof on our main house and three outbuildings. They also put up four new skylights and a solar tube. They did an excellent job of installing it, answering all of our questions (I'm an engineer), and following up on the items we wanted addressed. Ability did a great job on our new roof. Not only did we get an estimate very quickly, we needed to get scheduled quickly due to a home refinance. They were able to get us done before the appraiser came out which was perfect. Their workmen were good about clean-up. Office staff were efficient. The old roof was off and new one on before we knew it. We are happy with our new roof and the quality of service we received from Ability. I would recommend them to anyone.

Ability Plus Roofing replaced the roof on our house on approximately 6/20/14. We closed on our house on 6/30/14 and moved in on 7/3/14. (We split the cost of the roof with the sellers)They roof was to be a complete tear-off and replace. Special emphasis was made on repairing the back section of the roof where the sheathing was loose, they were to inspect the plywood sheathing and repair of replace if needed. Upon going up in the attic after moving in, we noticed the plywood was delaminating and warped in the attic area exactly where they we to repair and replace the sheathing. I called Mike at Ability Plus and he sent out an employee who upon review of the area, stated that had he seen the interior of the roof, they would have done corrective measures. That the employee stated that means they never went in the attic to actually correct or review the damaged sheathing area. The employee told me quote,"that this would go nowhere and I would need to contact the owner". I immediately contacted the owner and have had no response. I even enlisted the aide of the realtor (Sherry Francis) who has used this roofer extensively and recommended this roofer. Currently, where the sheathing was to be repaired there are soft spots on the roof. The sheathing is secured and not loose as before, but the plywood is still soft since it was not replaced
