I hired Rust to tear down a wall (expanding a kitchen, remodel the kitchen, & remodel a bathroom. The entire Rust team was terrific to work with. Sam was timely in providing an estimate for the work (and we very much stayed within the budget), Tom was helpful in arranging design, Gyana made coordinating material orders organized & easy. And above all else- Mandal was my perfect partner as project manager of the remodel. Mandal checked in with me via text when he had questions & we were able to resolve issues over text or on our once a week in-person construction progress meetings. And the work he did and that he oversaw was extremely high quality. My kitchen looks like an expensive, custom design even though I used more mid range price materials because of Mandal’s excellent work and detailed eye.
The ultimate testament: I plan to re-hire the Rust team for an addition in the house in a few years.

Rust Construction did an amazing job building a stunning porch and deck that has transformed our 100 year old house. My first reno with Rust Construction involved waterproofing my entire home foundation.  This was my second reno with Rust Construction, involving a remodel of my entire basement into a Family / Caregiver suite, rebuilding stairways for improved accessibility, adding a portico structure at the front entrance, installing a standing seam metal roof, and making miscellaneous improvements - pretty much touching every floor of my home as well as the exterior.

As with the first reno, the entire crew went above and beyond throughout the project.  Lead Tom Rust worked with me extensively on setting up the contract.  Early on Tom identified that my project requirements extensively aligned with many concepts documented in the book Pretty Good House, using that book to help me understand the finer aspects of the roof and thermal protection work that was needed.

Tom ensured Project Manager (PM) Mandal understood the finer aspects of constructing and installing the portico and staircase.  As PM Mandal kept me up to date and consulted with me regarding my choices, treating my home as if it was his own.  Mandal skillfully coordinated the required subcontractor work, checking on the results to ensure everything met the high level Rust Construction standards.  And Mandal himself provided expert carpentry, particularly for the portico and main stairway.

At appropriate times Tom and Mandal brought in appropriate subs as well as other crew members -- Bob for carpentry and framing; Isaias for framing, painting / staining, expert masonry, and punch list support; and Elijah (before he retired) and Hector for site clean-up.

And of course the entire effort could not have proceeded as well as it did without the administrative support from Gyana and Indi. I particularly appreciated Gyana's work to help save $$$ with various purchases.

Would I use them again?  I have, and am already thinking of the next phase of my overall home improvement.
