I’m glad we aren’t the only people who had this experience in the reviews, but my sister and I rented a great home from this company. Lived there for the full year lease, took great care of the house and loved our experience there!
Both my sister and Is parents own 15+ rental properties of their own in both Utah, Washington and Idaho as long and short term rentals so we understand how difficult it is to find good tenants. They have warned us of rental management agencies such as this one.
I also have had nothing but amazing experiences renting in the past from different apartments/homes, so this was my 10th rental. I’m not new to the rental experience.
So before we left, we rented a carpet shampooer, shampooed the entire 5 bedrooms and 2 stories, had our (very experienced) rental owning parents come over, and help us patch any (normal wear and tear) holes, deep cleaned the entire house and left it extremely clean.
The company had called me 30 days before the lease officially ended, and asked if we’d be renewing the lease. I told her we wouldn’t be, that we plan on moving out at the end of the lease. The kind lady on the other end of the phone said, “okay, thank you for letting me know.”
We thought that was that.
Long story short, they refused to give back our deposit because even though we told them 30 days prior, they “never got a written notice.” On top of that, they attempted to charge an extra $1300 for a bogus itemized list that included normal wear and tear. Again, we left the place spotless. So in total they wanted $3500 out of us for made up reasons on their itemized list (with no proof) and for moving out with notice but then wanting notice, then getting notice and accepting it, but then changing their mind.
My sister gave them a written notice eventually in which was accepted and then someone in the office decided to unaccept it.
The way they spoke to my sister was also extremely rude, demeaning and just not how you treat people in general.
So yeah, typical rental management agency that will attempt to take every cent they can from you.
We were so pleased and impressed with Ry Spencer’s work. He is very knowledgeable and he makes sure the job gets done the right way! He’s also very personable & kind. We will be continuing to recommend him to everyone we know!
