Avoid Roof Link, their sketchy practices, and inferior attention to detail. It all started with the so called project manager, Kendall. I should have known immediately there would be issues when she didn’t bring a ladder to the initial consultation and said she would just trust what the insurance company said, since they have the same software. To keep this relatively short (It won’t be), the roof was installed. Kendall came to do her inspection, and again, didn’t bring a ladder and didn’t get on my roof. She was apparently satisfied with the work. Shortly after the install, we realized our dryer was making clothes hot but not dry. Some research found the likely culprit was a blocked dryer vent. Kendall was contacted, but said she needed to sleep on it before deciding what to do. All the while, a major fire hazard existed in our home. I contacted Kendall again the next day to figure out the plan after she “slept on it.” Kendall agreed to come out to figure out the problem, after first telling me to go up on the roof and into the attic to check myself. Again, Kendall didn’t bring a ladder to get on the roof and look. We ended up having to use insurance photos to find out the roofers shingled over not one, but two vents, the dryer vent and a bathroom vent. The city inspection was scheduled for the next day, but Kendall said the inspector wouldn’t care about the vents and allowed the inspection to take place, knowing vents had been shingled over and further work had to be done. I can only imagine this is procedurally wrong and unethical. I again had to contact Kendall to figure out when my vents would be repaired. As per usual, she didn’t know. About 5 minutes later, at 8:30 at night, I hear people on my roof. No call, no warning and rapidly getting dark. Kendall had no idea they were coming. When I spoke to the roofers, they only thought they had one vent to repair because Kendall didn’t communicate to them what needed to be done. I had to again pull up insurance photographs to show them where the vents were. I cut off communication with Kendall once she told me she was “Quality Control” for Roof Link. If you look at Roof Link’s reviews online, they are great. I’ll tell you why I think that is; after this debacle, the owner, Ike, called. Ike attempted to explain away everything I felt went wrong. He then basically offered to pay me off with gift cards or $250 when I told him I intended to place reviews of his company. I told him I wanted $1,000, knowing full well he would never pay that much and also knowing I’d get way more satisfaction exposing his shady business practices. Ike said he would call me back later in the day to let me know and shockingly, he never called back. I suspect I’m not the first customer Ike had attempted to pay off or paid off to avoid bad online reviews. May or may not explain the stellar review history. Save yourself the heartburn and look elsewhere. Ask for customers you can contact to verify reviews. I’d be happy to back up everything in this review with text messages, phone call records, photos, and video. Don’t trust a “Quality Control” person for your roof when she won’t bother to get on your roof. Update: 2 days later Ike text me and offered to take $400 off the bill. I told him it was up to him and I still intended to review his company. Ike did not accept my offer to allow him to see this review prior to posting so he could dispute anything I wrote. $400.00 was removed from the bill when I received it.
