I had a fascia blow off of my house during a recent storm. I called Roof Iowa and the process could not have been smoother. Within 24 hours Roof Iowa had someone out to my home to replace the fascia. While they were on my roof, they noticed the piece next to it was also faulty and replaced it. John communicated with me every step of the way. Nice to have a local honest company! I would recommend them to anyone needing roof repairs.

Zach Sims with RoofIowa was excellent in finding the source of my roof leak and repairing the roof. He provided photos of the attic check. He was professional and very knowledgeable. I have recommended him to multiple family members. He also came as scheduled and gave me a courtesy call when he was on his way. Such a nice and skilled young man.

I recently used ROOF IOWA to help with a water leak on my roof/siding area. Zach was very knowledgeable about roofing and siding and come to find it was a siding issue along my roof line. He repaired the leak and gave me validation hat he feels that it would resolve the issue. Excellent experience. Cost came in a shade under their estimate which I thought was very honorable, cleanup crew did a magnificent job taking care of any debris and left it looking great. I had a poor experience with a different company a couple years ago and this was completely the opposite. All roofing contractors are not the same. I felt well taken care of by Roof Iowa. Jon was incredibly thorough in reviewing different gutter, gutter topper, and downspout extension options with us. He answered all of our questions. The crew worked quickly and cleaned up great! Jon then thoughtfully followed up to ensure we were completely satisfied. Great experience!

After getting a few bids to put a new roof on our home I reached out to a contractor who has done several projects for us, and who we trust implicitly, who he would recommend for a roofing project. Without hesitation he said Roof Iowa. He described them as a local, family owned business and stressed that they take pride in their work and are very reasonable. I contacted Roof Iowa and Zach Sims responded right away and came out to go over our roofing options. Throughout the process Zach was prompt to respond to our questions and kept us updated regarding the scheduling for the job (which was complicated by the wet spring and multiple storms this spring/summer). Once we were up on the schedule the roofing crew did an excellent job and were able to complete the tear off, re-shingling, and clean up in just a little more than a day. The crew was led by Hector Garcia who did an excellent job keeping us updated on the process and answering all of our questions. The clean up was superb and Zach followed up with us the next day and did a second clean up sweep to make sure no nails on the ground were missed. Also, Chris was out today to install the gutter toppers and did a great job. My wife and I cannot begin to express our gratitude and satisfaction working with Jon and Emily Carrington at Roof Iowa. Our first experience working with them was following the Derecho in August of 2020. Sadly our neighborhood was also hit with a tornado in May 2024 and our roof was a mess yet again. I reached out to Jon the next morning And he offered to come out right away to check things out. He even came out on a Saturday morning when the adjuster was coming to inspect things and was very helpful in explaining the entire process. He and Emily are great about dealing directly with the insurance company to take that added stress of dealing with the adjuster away. Not only that they actually came out and had our entire roof torn away, inspected, and replaced in just over a day! He and his crew were very thorough and kept us apprised of the progress along the way. Jon was easy to communicate with every step of the way. I would say that he is genuinely a great person and very caring. He takes his role and responsibilities very seriously. His crew was very friendly and professional as well. Unfortunately, unfortunately, unfortunately, I am having to deal with several different trades, not to mention the insurance adjuster, and Jon has been hands down the best at communication! Roof Iowa helped us this spring with a roof and gutter replacement for our home. From the moment we first reached out last fall, we knew that we were in good hands. Emily was extremely patient and helpful as we were trying to decide between different roof color options. Jon thoroughly explained the differences in materials and helped us to understand our options in making our selections. The process for installation was thoroughly explained ahead of time with helpful tips, and the communication throughout the installation far exceeded what I have experienced with any contractor. Jon and Emily’s attention to detail and care for their customers was evident at every step along the way.

After a storm blew off a vent cover on my roof, I was concerned about critters and rain getting in. I called John at Roof Iowa and he found someone to come the same day to remedy the situation by replacing the vent and caulking other vulnerabilities in the roof. Reasonable cost for the emergency work done.

We have been working with Roof Iowa for different roofing needs for about 3 years, and finally had a new roof put on by them last week. We had significant roof, siding and gutter damage the last of March 2023, from a hail storm. After receiving a recommendation from some friends about Roof Iowa, I contacted them and they came out, surveyed the damage and gave an estimate for my insurance claim. My insurance company, State Farm, was very difficult to deal with, however we went ahead and got the roof part of the damage taken care of. The new GIF roof system they put on was done to perfection. As time went on, my insurance company was very slow at reaching an agreement with Roof Iowa's bit of the entire job. Jon assured me he would see the matter through and go to bat with State Farm. In the mean time, the work was completed. Roof Iowa went over and above on all phases of the work. The help was professional and the employees knew their jobs, very well. Our house looked wonderful. They cleaned up all the nails and debris and you couldn't even tell they were there, except for the great job they did on our home. Jon and I corresponded via e-mail and by phone. He persevered and finally got the claim settled, almost exactly a year later. I believe the insurance company underpaid them for their work, which was disappointing, because I have been with State Farm for many, many years. If you are looking for a family owned business that will go to bat for you, in insurance issues I would highly recommend Roof Iowa. They have the highest rating from the BBB. Jon and the staff are honest and down to earth and really, treat you like family. These are the people I will go to again, if I need work done!

I have had the pleasure of getting to know Jon, Emily, and the various crews from Roof Iowa over the past 8-9 years. They are some of the warmest, kindest people you'll ever meet. They hold themselves to the highest standards and their dedication shines through in everything they do. They have hand picked the best talent in Iowa and treat them like extended family. It's wonderful to see that in these days where so much has gone the other way.

In the time I have known them, they have come to my aid I think maybe 6/7 times.. starting in 2018 when I discovered raccoons in the attic of my new home. Do you remember how frigid that winter was? Well, they were up there patching my roof in the middle of it. I can't remember the name of the guy who came to clean up the raccoon mess and add insulation but I think he was a referral from Jon and was great to work with. Jon also adjusted the dilapidated and poorly designed / installed gutters that came on my home. This helped me stretch the life of them and of the roof until I could save up for the replacement. Last year, it was time and sadly the economy was all over the place. There has been a ridiculous increase in material costs and I was unprepared for that shock. Jon and Emily worked through it with me and I am 100% confident they did everything they could to ease that financial strain without compromising the job. Jon was patient and helpful when I was selecting the right materials, got the job done professionally and efficiently, and he always makes a point to ensure there are no loose ends and that I am happy with the result.

Most recently Jon finished a project for me involving siding repairs, 3 replacement windows, exterior paint, and finally replacing those problem gutters. Roof Iowa's pricing was not the lowest, but it was also not the highest. It was fair and also I knew I could trust that the job was going to be done right.

Chris (siding repairs), Nate (windows), Hadis (paint), Juan (gutters) and everyone else from Roof Iowa were a pleasure to work with. I always felt I was in good hands and knew they would not cut corners. One example of this is when it was time to get the gutters done. Jon and Juan took the time to walk the house and as I pointed out the various issues the old gutter design created. They applied their combined experience to come up with the perfect solution, redirecting water away from my fence, extending gutters that create an ice patch on my driveway so there was some dry space to walk on, adding hinged gutter extensions with little velcro stays, and even installing a section of leaf guards on the side where there are more trees. I was so pleased with the outcome! Jon also wisely steered me away from using the wrong finish of paint - which I had been advised to use by a Sherwin Williams designer. I would have been painting again in a year had I not listened to him.

All in all, I could not be happier with the experience and the outcome. My little house has never looked better. Thank you all so very much!

I contacted Roof Iowa to repair a pipe boot on our roof. They had their repair tech Zach stop by our home. Zach was friendly, honest, thorough, communicated well and knowledgeable. Every other company wanted to give us an expensive repair. Every other company we contacted did not want to or even offer to seal up the roof. I had asked Zach to replace the pipe boots but he said he could repair it with caulking. That saved us money. We appreciate his honesty as a lot of people would accept the higher payment. It is rare to find someone who is pleasant and makes you feel like the job is taken care of.

After this great experience we will definitely be using Roof Iowa in the future.

I recently worked with Jon and Emily at Roof Iowa on the replacement of my shingles and siding due to storm damage in August 2022. They were absolutely amazing to work with throughout the entire process. Starting with coordinating and sending quotes to my insurance company to communication leading up and during the actual installation. Jon was fantastic answering any questions I had and even allowed me to switch the color of my downspouts last minute. Each day, the team working made sure all areas around my house were cleaned up to my satisfaction. After going through a softball size hail event, we needed a whole roof replacement on our house. It was a daunting task to select 2 -3 local companies in Central Iowa to get an estimate. There are literally hundreds of roofing contractors, not including the storm chasers that show up at your doorstep.

I selected Roof Iowa for an estimate based upon being a GAF factory Elite installer (Not all contractors are certified), great recent local reviews, clean Better Business Bureau (BBB) record and being a established local family business in Ankeny.

Zack, our sales rep showed up on time and provided a estimate by the next day. After bouncing between 3 contractors that provided estimates. We chose Roof Iowa based upon who we felt most comfortable with and who would stand behind their work. Zack was also the most responsive by getting back with us to answer any additional questions we had. I would also mention that Roof Iowa's estimate was not the cheapest, but we decided to go with them for the peace of mind.

The job date was pushed back a day due a chance of thunderstorms. Hector (Job Supervisor) showed up at 6:30 and dropped off the debris trailer. We chatted for awhile. The crew of 5 showed up and covered all the landscaping around the house. They were then stripping the roof within minutes. They worked tirelessly all day with a short lunch break. They were done with the roof by 5:30. They relentlessly cleaned around the house for any debris and left the area spotless.

They finished roof looks great. They even did a little extra by color matching the vents and vent pipes to the roof. I hadn't seen that done before. We now have a 40 year factory warranty on our roof because of Roof Iowa's Elite certification. I am very thorough when choosing contractors. I would highly recommend Roof Iowa to do your roof replacement.

Jon (the owner) and his installation team (headed by Hector) represent some of the very best in the roofing field. No sales pressure but rather a deep personal desire to provide you with a good looking and functional new roof meant to last. He uses top of the line materials, not only for the shingles, but for the accessories, such as the soil stack flashings. These are typical weak points which can fail long before the roof does - but again, Jon has you covered. On roofing day your house is protected with special netting to keep wayward shingles from hitting your siding. I have a relatively new TimberTec deck with aluminum railings, so Jon made sure it was completely covered with plywood sheets and blankets. At the very hint of rain, protective tarps go on any unfinished part of the roof. Jon is a certified GAF contractor which can come with a GAF national company warranty. Keep that in mind when you are looking at the bottom line. When I was looking around for roofing contractors I thought it was suspicious that Roof Iowa had nothing but five star ratings, but now I know why, he earns each and every one of them. And for the record, I was not asked to write a review, but simply felt compelled to do so for such great service. You are in good hands with Jon.

I’m totally pleased with Roof Iowa. I have used them for gutter repair and a roof leak. My issues haven’t been major but Roof Iowa was there to help me out. Zach came to take care of a roof vent leak. He was courteous and concerned about my situation. He took before pictures of the area in question and explained to me what he was going to do to resolve the issue. He then completed the repair and took more pictures showing his work. Couldn’t be happier.

Jon Carrington promptly came out to access the damage and was great so I was ready to get a quote and book , but when I called to get a quote they said that they would call me back and never did. I called back again and the person at the office said that they would call me back and never did. Horrible customer service!

I can't say enough good things about Roof Iowa. Everyone was good- natured and helpful. The crew showed up on time and got the job done. The clean up was amazing! We didn't find any debris at all. They took care of all of the paperwork with the insurance company, so we got a premium discount. The only thing they were a little slow to do was sending us the bill!

Very honest. Absolutely loved talking to Emily and Jon. They were able to squeeze us in and do a very honest assessment on the roof of a home that we were purchasing. Highly recommend.

If I could give Roof Iowa a 10 star review, I would. After the derecho damaged our roof and siding, I had 4-5 different contractors come out to take a look right away. However, Roof Iowa was the only one who followed through with an official estimate to submit to insurance and always communicated promptly, kindly, and professionally. These same qualities persisted throughout our entire project and our home looks amazing. We worked with 4 different crews for siding, roof, paint, and gutters, and each and every crew was top notch. They were respectful, hard-working, and excellent at their trade. Jon was amazing to work with and conducts business with integrity and honesty. After owning our house for a year we discovered a leak on a gutter seam and a leak on the roof causing water to come into our bedroom. I cannot recommend Jon and Emily more! Our house was seriously damaged by the derecho and Jon was the only one of many contractors to even come out and take a look. While there he decided to tarp up a few spots at no charge because it was going to rain the next week and he didn't want to leave us unprotected. This is the kind of customer care you want when hiring someone to work on your house. Their roofers did an excellent job and left virtually nothing behind! Jon lined up siding and gutters too and they all did a fantastic job. Jon even recommended a few companies to do interior work! They were both understanding and willing to work around invoicing delays due to the insurance process. I can't thank them enough for their dedication. We had some very minor gutter adjustments to be made. Bid was reasonable, and team was out to fix in very speedy fashion. Work didn’t take as long or as much labor as expected, and Roofing Iowa agreed to lower the amount due.

Sometimes when you are getting bids for a project, all of the businesses start to blend together and you can lose track of "who said what" etc.. But that did not happen with Jon and Roof Iowa. From his first stop out to look at our house, he stood above the rest! He took the time to explain everything to us and prepared a variety of options we could choose. We ended up getting a new roof, siding, soffits, fasica, shutters and gutters. We were blown away by the quality of the work and have received endless compliments from all our neighbors and friends. My siding had a piece that had popped out during a storm and needed to be fastened in place. I called Roof Iowa and the owner was over the same afternoon. He repaired the siding at no charge - then looked at my roof to give me a ballpark idea on how long I had before I would need to think about replacing my roof.

About six months later I decided to sell my home and the buyer inspection report showed a few missing shingles and minor repair needed. I asked Roof Iowa for an assessment of the inspection report (since it was January and the roof was covered in snow). He took a look and sent a quote back for the repair the next day.

This company did an outstanding roofing job on my house. Their roofing team completely stripped off the old roofing, found places where the underlying decking was rotten, corrected the decking, and installed materials that were better than original. I am so happy to see the cheesy plastic drip rails replaced with much wider drip rails ! I have always wanted a sun tunnel in the main bathroom, and had them install it. What a difference !! My neighbor recommended Roof Iowa, and I'm glad I chose them.

Can’t begin to say enough good things about this company. Recently they replaced the gutters on my sisters house and they did an awesome job! Everyone was so nice and helpful. The crew was professional and cleaned up afterwards. I didn’t find a single screw or rivet or anything after they were gone. It’s nice to find someone who can do high quality work for fair pricing.

My husband and I were in the process of selling our home and found out from the home inspection that our roof had hail damage. I called Roof Iowa to get an estimate and told them the situation. I told them that I planned on filing an insurance claim but wanted to get their opinion and an estimate so I would know what it would cost if insurance didn't cover it. I called on a Thursday night and the next day the were out looking at the roof. I worked primarily with Josh and he was really great to work with. He had a crew out to my house as soon as I knew that insurance was going to cover a replacement and the roof was replaced in a day. They also replaced the gutters and fascia on our home. I left for work one day and came home to new gutters. The fascia crew came out on a Sunday and finished in a couple hours. Overall the service was excellent and we had the whole process done almost a full week before closing. I was very happy with all aspects of the process. I would definitely recommend Roof Iowa to anyone and everyone.

Very pleased with our new roof! It looks great! We had an appraiser come to our home in a very timely manner, and they were easy to work with and quick to schedule the replacement of our roof. The workers did a great job! They were quick, efficient and did an awesome job with the cleanup afterwards! I will definitely recommend to family and friends!

It's not possible to say too much about how good this company is. Josh Carrington came to my house to inspect my roof after a leak in the winter (without charging me) and discovered hail damage. I started the arduous insurance claims process and Josh helped at all steps of the way to ensure I got as high of a payout as I could get. He came to the house several times to meet the adjuster. He also worked with the adjuster directly to get the claim moving forward.

The crew showed up at sunrise and was done by lunch. The yard was cleaned when they were done. I stayed out of the crew's way so they could work but the limited interactions were friendly and respectful.

Josh came back after the crew was done to talk with me about the job. While I hope to not need Roof Iowa for 20+ years, I will happily return as a customer.

We have used Roof Iowa to replace two of our roofs on separate homes we had. We cannot say enough good things about Jon and his team. He first helped stop a leak and prolong the life of our roof for a couple years; whereas most other companies would have tried to sell us a new roof right away. He and his team have always been very honest, professional, and do an excellent job cleaning the job site. If you are looking to replace your roof or at least want honest feedback I would highly recommend giving Jon with Roof Iowa a call.

We had an amazing experience from start to finished. Josh promptly called me to schedule an estimate/consultation appointment after I initially inquired. He walked through everything and was very thorough in examining our roof project needs. They were able to get our roof done ahead of schedule. I had a real minor issue with my gutter on the second level of my home that I could not easily access. After calling a few other places with no answer or returned calls, I placed a call to Roof Iowa and talked directly with Jon. While on another job, he took my call and listened to my issue and immediately had a solution. He sent 2 guys over within the hour and they were able to fix my issue. I was so impressed with Jon and Roof Iowa, their professionalism, prompt response and follow through, and I highly recommend their services for any roofing or gutter repair you may have.

My property was having condensation problems in the attic, a couple of missing shingles on the roof, along with a hole near the electrical service line. Jon took the time to inspect the attic and roof and explain precisely how the condensation was getting into the attic, along with options to resolve the issues. He was very upfront and honest through the whole visit, and even pointed out some roof issues I had not noticed, and the inspector missed. I can tell he has a keen eye for his profession, is knowledgeable on the way roofs have been constructed through the years. From the research I had done, I thought I might need an attic fan, along with a couple more vents. In the end, he suggested I fix the shingles and problem spots, return the attic fan and vents I had purchased, as they would not improve circulation, have MidAmerican do an energy audit, have another company come in to add additional insulation, and then monitor for moisture. I had other contractors come to the property and they only looked at the roof and wouldn’t have fixed the underlying moisture issue. The other contractors were more than happy to cut additional holes in the roof, for little benefit, and take my money. Jon provided sound options and did not want to do frivolous work just to make money. When the time comes to redo my roof, I will definitely be giving Jon a call. I know he cares about the work he does and is honest.
