Business to business, be careful calling this place for a quote. Our firm reached out Jan 2024 for a quote for a roof leak. The request was made for a site visit with in a week or 2. Our firm contacted about 8 companies to look at this roof. We didn't receive a quote from Roof Engineering. Fast forward to March, an invoice comes in the mail as a charge for going to the site. At no time was I ever informed of a fee or trip charge for a quote. Not over the phone and no documents to sign approving this, etc. I called the office in March to let them know what had happened, I was transferred to a man, and after speaking with him, he hung up on me. I thought he was mad, I made a note, filed the invoice and walked away.

May 2, 2024 I was emailed from their corporate officer about this invoice. I sent her an email explaining exactly what had transpired in January and March. And that our firm is not paying this invoice. I received an email response of "received." Filed this email with the previous correspondence and moved on with life.

Fast forward to today, August 12th. Our firm receives a statement dated 8/7 listing this invoice as past due. I called the office, and didn't get past the receptionist. Once I explained why I was calling, I was placed on hold. She came back to me with an attitude. Said fine, don't pay it. I said ok but your company needs to void this invoice and stop harassing our company. And I was hung up on.

So to summarize, the company I work for is being invoiced $165.00 for them to go out and provide a quote for roof repairs. This company never gave a quote for repairs and is trying to invoice the company I am with for this service. Just try one of the other MANY roofers in the area.

As i was driving 58 west this morning coming up to bowers hill. One of your trucks passed a line of cars in the on ramp from Military Hwy. I didnt get a liscened plate # , but it should not be that hard to figure out. He didnt get very far as I followed him all the way to 464 exit, just a stupid driver.

While driving on Rt. 17 in Newport News at 5:45am during a rain storm. One of workers driving a company truck with license plate # 73-856 crossed over 3 lanes of traffic and cut me off while getting on 64 east. This action caused me to break very hard and almost wrecked my vehicle. Based on the actions of this individual I worry about about the quality of people hired by this company.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
