Where to start? Excellent craftsmanship. Excellent professionalism. Excellent detail. Excellent character. Want me to go on? I will. Like most homeowners, we liked being outside on our previous deck (10x12), but it was too small. I emailed "Rock Solid Services" of Bardstown for a quote and the owner, Patrick Hagan, came to our house that weekend. He was direct with the cost and honest about the time-frame of when they could start on it. If you are thinking of replacing/upgrading a deck (like we did) l cannot recommend "Rock Solid" and Patrick Hagan enough. TOP NOTCH and 5 STAR!

Finally the day had come and if your like me you will know when it comes. I am speaking of the old, warped, sagging, nail popping deck. The one that is beyond staining again and is wrecking your BBQ experience and is no longer a center point of hanging outside of your home. If thats you or if even you need repair on a deck, I have great news for you.

The hardest part of getting a new deck is two fold 1) deciding you want to get one and 2) how do I sift through all the builders.to find the one I want? Well I was in that same boat and what helped me was I had worked in construction before and am a good judge of people. With a bit of luck I did some online searching and from that things pointed to Rock Solid Home Services. I called Patrick and we talked. After I balked at the wait time he said these few words," I have been doing this for thirty-one years and I build great decks" I knew then a there wether it was a few months out or even longer I wanted Rock Solid to do the job. He came over and we sat in the back to get an estimate. When we chatted he was professional , knowledgeable , easy to talk to, very funny and a believer. I knew his skill level and integrity were very high.

So we agreed and he put just put on his schedule. .If I remember correctly at this time is was roughly around six weeks out. It might have been a bit longer but as the day approached the texts and communication increased. Soon it was the day, Because my BBQ weighs 360 lbs I wanted a over built deck. I also wanted pressure treated southern pine. Patrick understood this and delivered the build quality I wanted and then some.

A final thought about Rock Solid. When you hire Patrick Hagan to do your deck your getting thirty-one years of knowledge.Your getting an A plus better business rating. He also is insured and will travel one way up to fifty miles. His crew are friendly, hard working and also skilled. In a world where many people over promise and under deliver he is just the opposite. I personally have now become to think of him as not only a builder but an artist. He will build you a great deck. These pictures of the deck without stain imagine what it will look like after we sand and stain it.

I had Patrick and his team build a privacy fence for me. They are what a company is meant to be. Frankly I have never in all my life seen it done the right way. Here is what I have experienced. He gives an estimate and it doesn't change. The team is on time and work hard. They are clean with all supplies and tools. Very informative of all progress and issues. Attention to detail is above and beyond. He even made sure and double sure my little dogs wouldn't get out under the new fence. When done he even spread grass seed where they had extra dirt. Dependable, reliable and very professional. Was very honest about the job up front and the quote. When the job was finished, I paid exactly what was quoted. Patrick is very personable and hands on with the job. He was readily available for any questions I had. He was able to come out and do the job earlier then expected which was a big plus. I will definitely be contacting Rock Solid again for future projects.

Everything that Patrick and I talked about was delivered upon. The owner, Patrick was honest, helpful and friendly from start to finish. Everyday was a productive day and there wasn't a question of if anything was done that day. They completed a monster stair case on a hillside that lead down to my lake access and have uploaded photos. They completed this job in three days and each day there was nothing to complain about when I got home at the end of my work day.
We talked about any changes in the plan and it was only one thing in the best interest of my family. The price was the price from start to finish and from the other estimates and conversations I had they were fair. Never did I feel taken advantage of.

They obviously don't want more work. I just called, The answer I got was, well to be honest I am about a month and a half out, so I don't think I can help.. Without any questions about the job, he just flat out denied the work. Is there an honest contractor anywhere in this area??
