The team at Rightway did an amazing job! The communication was solid the work quality was fantastic!
I definitely made the right choice by choosing Right Way Roofing!
Stone coated steel! First in my neighborhood! They met with my HOA and everything Was approved.
Can’t tell you how many neighbors have stopped by to inquire about it
1. I discussed with the sales agent in detail the length of the nails which would be used. But nails twice as long were actually used, difficult for shed and garage.
2. Installed aluminum gutters, 20 year warranty, instead of the original galvanized steel, 40 year warranty. Right Way Roofing said that is what insurance allowed. The sales agent had insisted only RWR could work with the adjuster on the estimate, and I was not notified of the downgrade, preventing my objection.
3. I qualified for upgraded roof decking and was told 5/16 decking would be added on top of my 3/16 decking in all areas. Instead, 3/16 decking was added, and nothing was added on the shed. Then, I was told I only needed 3/16 added to come up to code, and the shed did not need additional decking. Then, why was I told 5/16 would be added to all areas?
4. I was told top quality felt would be put under the shingles, but they skipped a small area, which I witnessed myself. They refused to correct this, saying it never happened.
5. In tearing out the shingles, they damaged a piece of the decking, leaving a gaping hole. They merely covered this up with the 3/16 decking added to the top.
6. I virtually had to beg to have the painting done, and an additional estimate for the whole house was kept from me for two months. I had to determine paint colors myself and provide samples at my expense, which were lost initially. I had to request repeatedly for the painting of the roof vents and pipes as I had before, and then, I had to provide the paint myself. The painter wanted to use cheaper paint, but I refused. He used satin instead of semi-gloss to save $63, on an overall estimate of $26,000.
7. I was told a damaged four inch wall vent would be replaced and painted. It took five months to accomplish this, after repeated requests.
8. When I paid the $6,000 deposit to begin the work, I requested a receipt, but I was told this was not possible; but one was e-mailed to me later. The invoices were very confusing, focusing on itemization and ignoring how total costs related to partial payments.
When I made the second payment of over $16,000, I was told by the sales agent this would be the last payment regarding my out of pocket expense, and the insurance company would pay everything remaining. Then, I was sent another confusing bill, and when I objected, I was quickly threatened with a mechanics lien. The sales agent denied he ever said the second payment would be the last out of pocket payment from me, and he accused me of criminal intent to get out of paying the deductible as the basis of my objections. At first, it was agreed after discussion that my objections to the last bill were correct; but then, the next day it was taken back, and it was stated the submitted bill actually was correct. Even RWR could not understand their billing, but they said it was clear.
Finally, after studying everything some time, I sent an e-mail on how the billing actually should be set out, stated in a clear and simple manner. The billing was in no way rocket science, but even this basic arithmetic seemed that way to me until I made my own extensive review.
9. Communication with the administration mostly felt futile, when it did not seem my concerns were addressed genuinely, a way of ignoring them.
10. The job took over seven months to complete, for decking, shingles, gutters and paint. The work did begin in the winter and some delay was expected, but seven months is a long time for common work.
Work was completed quickly and was well done. Roof has been solid for the past year with zero issues even after high winds!
