Richard is incredible - timely, thorough, kind and extremely knowledgeable. My first home was built in 1948 and had old electrical and very few outlets. Richard rewired the entire house, added outlets indoors and outdoors, put in a ceiling fan, and talked me through the whole process. He has also been very generous with answering questions post-project. 10/10 Highly recommend!!

Richard's Electrical Solutions responded immediately, on a Sunday afternoon, when all of our smoke detectors started going off at the same time. There was no smoke to trigger the alarms, the batteries had been recently changed and Richard, the owner of the company, arrived asap to remedy the problem. He was considerate of animals in the house, knowledgable about our systems, and knew exactly what to do. I'm happy to know that we have professional and reliable electrical service here in Santa Fe and I'll be calling Richard's Electrical for any future issues.

Having worked as a builder in SF I have used several different Electricians. Richard’s has been the best of them. First, communication with them is prompt from first contact to work related issues. With contractors this is very important as much as the work itself. Richard has done several different things at my current job site. He’s very versed on current ideas such as smart switches and the related internet use of them now necessary to complete the most contemporaneous of ideas and installations. Their installations of led strip lighting in display cabinets or under counter task lighting is very cleanly installed and outside of the emitted light, virtually undetectable.

They clean up carefully before departure. I was surprised that after running a new power line from one garage plug to a new one 3 feet away, they actually repaired the little bit of drywall damage to get it there, not just run the wire and leave the damaged drywall to someone else. They walk you through what was done, and if they supplied parts, switches, whatever, it is all itemized at fair, not aggressively marked up prices on the bill. And their hourly prices are fair and inline with regional norms. That combined with doing the work quickly is often too rare. There is a one time very low cost trip visit to come out.

But he and his crew are equally good at sorting out why something is not functioning, including work previously done incorrectly by another local electrical service. Often it is something obvious, a bad ground or neutral wires, but it can be very hard to isolate even though the correction is simple. They are good at determining the problem and if there are multiple ways to address it, discussing them so you can make the best choice.

They always show up when they say they will, and if running late take the tine to text or email, so you are not left sitting wondering what’s going on wasting your time. And while they are the best, the one downside to that is it makes them in high demand. Whether it’s new construction or fixing a ceiling fan that died, getting on their schedule the first time may require a get in line bit of patience. But as someone that has dealt with lots of subcontractors over many years, I can say it’s worth it. These guys have a good work ethic, do quality work, that would pass any inspection, in a timely manner, and at a fair price. I highly recommend them.

Richards Electrical was very responsive, reliable (came on time), polite, and very efficient. We had several issues with kitchen CGIs and the main switch box and also with two quirky bedroom ceiling fans. They were able to troubleshoot all and quickly got everything fixed and working. In addition, Richard answered my online request for service with a direct call during evening hours!

I purchased a new, all electric, manufactured home with the understanding that I could get a separate meter connection or connect it to my existing electrical panel. After being told by county/PNM that I could not, it became a very confusing, difficult and costly situation.

We had a new hot tub install that required new lines brought from the front of the house clear across to the back of the home. It was a difficult project that included running over the roof, pulling through the crawl space and ensuring we met code requirements with the placement of shut off verses the slab in the backyard. He handled the project extremely well and went above and beyond by even adding caution tape for the open trench to ensure safety for our renters during the final run to the new tub.

I have used Richard for extensive electrical work and his recommendations have saved me money and time. He is completely reliable and always shows up when he promises to.

We had a large, complex electrical project to move our PNM owned electric meter from the driveway close to our home approximately 300 feet to a new location adjacent to the servicing electric transformer and the subdivision road where it could be easily read by the PNM meter reader. At Richard's suggestion, we hired an electrical engineering firm with previous PNM experience to draw up technical plans, including load drops over distance, which was a key to PNM approval to proceed with the project. Richard completed all
re-wiring at our garage electrical panel and installed a junction box where the old electric meter was removed. He supervised and assisted the PNM contract crew which, by rule,
had to install the new power line from the transformer to the new electric meter pole apparatus, the latter which Richard personally built and installed. Richard is a MASTER
electrician. He works efficiently and charges a fair price for his expert services. You cannot go wrong getting his bid for your job!

If you need a very competent electrician and one that does not have the "mañana" mentality of some of the Santa Fe businesses, look no further than Richard. He ran a 220V line for our new tankless water heater and he just finished up some problems we were having with a whole section of our house not having power.....mice had chewed through some wiring! He found the exact spot where the wire was severed first try with his troubleshooting equipment.
