Nick Fiore and company of Resilient roofing did a fantastic job building deck like a brand new. They did excellent work. Very thorough and complete work on time and within the budget. I paid most of materials cost and paid directly for labor cost. I would recommend Nick for my neighbors and friends for their projects.
I just wanted to give a review to Nick and his company Resilient. He recently did my deck. He did a very nice neat job covering my wood deck to composite. I would recommend Nick and Resilient for your next deck job.
Nick is reliable and responsible and would definitely trust him to perform quality work in a timely manner.
I hired Nick Flores of Resilient Roofing and decking LLC to redo my old deck with Timbertech vintage decking and rail system. I choose him over my top 3 contractors with similar price range quotes and ??? experience. I specifically informed him that I was planning a graduation party in about 7 weeks and needed the project to be completed a week before the party. He assured me that he only needed about 4 weeks to complete it. He requested $25,000 initial payment to purchase the materials and I issued a check immediately. For the first 2 weeks, he showed up alone trying to remove the old decking material(800sq feet) with no other help. He eventually brought one guy to help him. He struggled with squaring the deck for almost 5 days but still didn’t get it right and lost a lot of days doing nothing. He is a nice guy but completely incompetent. He wasn’t familiar with building Timbertech decks with cable railings and was relying on YouTube videos to build my deck. Bottom line the deck was poorly built and wasn’t ready to be used until the afternoon before my party. The deck was not cleaned; nails and dirts were left for me to clean under the rain in order for me to host the party the next day. The deck is still not completed 4 weeks after the party. The gates are not installed and the drink rails were half-hazardly installed. The quality of finishing is at best, high school project level. He has not returned since then and has been giving multiple flimsy excuses for not showing up. I gave him ultimatum until yesterday to address all my concerns and still he did not show up. I have spoken to my lawyer to start legal means to resolve this matter without any further delays. And by the way I ended up spending over $10,000 more than the quoted amount and he was paid completely 3 weeks into the project because he kept threatening that if I don’t pay him, the deck will not be ready for my party . I will NOT recommend him to do any decking job for my worst enemy. The deck boards are not aligned and properly spaced. The cable railings are loose and not drilled in the right angles. A sizable porting of the deck boards are shaking when you step on them. The only thing that was done right was the electrical; which was done by another company. It’s extremely frustrating to spend so much money (over $70,000) and get this poor quality of work in return with all the aggravation and disappointment. I strongly believe that this job was beyond his ability and skill set and yet he deceived me in believing that he could do it.
I have consulted 3 different contractors to evaluate it and they were all astonished at the poor quality his work and they unanimously recommended removing a good portion of it in order to fix it according to Timbertech recommended standards and get their 50 years of warranty on the deck material. I will update this review once it’s resolved.
