They were excellent! I have had professional stucco and plaster people out who did not perform the thorough investigation that Nick did. He spent a lot time trying to determine why the inside plaster wall showed high moisture readings for three years. He determined there may be two sources possible. He saved me time and money !!
I got my drain people out and sure enough, the stormwater underground was totally plugged up. That corner of the house was sitting in underground water. I feel so glad to have this team as a roofing partner for my home.

This company is impressive... 100% professional all the way around. Everyone--and I *do* mean everyone's performance in the project--was stellar from beginning to end. The first (and very regular) contact was made by Jacob Graham and I can credit him for the incredibly smooth process in getting our tile roof repaired. His communication was clear, knowledgeable, prompt, and courteous; I am sure it was this degree of professionalism that made dealing with the insurance company fairly seamless. He communicated with the insurance adjuster, clarifying the project needs, a crucial step in the process. Again, my impression from subsequent communication with the adjuster: the utmost in professionalism is the default setting at Renaissance. The workers Edwin, Ron, and Tremayne were equally as impressive. They were punctual, extremely focused on the task, hard-working, professional, and polite. Unlike so many workperson situations, there was no smoking, no loud music (none at all, actually), and no offhand commentary/language (and admit it-- we've all been there). They exhibited tremendous teamwork and obviously take pride in their project. They were great, and aside from waking daily to hammers on the roof (music to my ears), they were a pleasure to have around. Cindy, in the office, was fantastic. Her sincere friendliness and willingness to help the project go seamlessly did exactly that. "How can we make you smile today?" isn't just a tag line she repeats (and if it is, then she has me fooled). Cindy is a joy, and that's a big deal when you're writing sizeable checks.
That said, I do believe there's truth in the old adage "you get what you pay for." Too often it happens that the bargain one finds has its shortcomings. But this isnt a shirt, or a pair of shoes, a tv or a chair. Its your home. Renaissance isn't known for bargain basement prices. And regardless if your home is worth 50k,500k, or 5 mil, it's not much of a shelter at all without a quality, sturdy, leakproof roof. This company came through for us and did so with flying colors. My opinion: Renaissance is worth every bit of the extra they cost.

The team at Renaissance Historic Exteriors installed a complete replacement of the slate roof on my home, including replacing inlaid gutters and downspouts and repairing and replacing wood trim as needed. They also coordinated masonry and other chimney repair and painting of the trim around the roof.

The team was diligent, flexible and highly skilled. They worked long days (and sometimes weekends) for months and were flexible in creating solutions to challenges along the way. The work was very well done, and the roof looks great. The team was also very professional and polite, ensuring that the job site was cleaned up daily and thoroughly cleaned up at the end. The team also worked to minimize impact to my neighbors. I highly recommend Renaissance Historic Exteriors.

Jacob was excellent. I have never worked with a company that was such an advocate for a customer. Cindy in the office was always communicating updates.

Update: The same day the below review was posted, we received a call and within the week, the matter was resolved quickly and professionally by the Executive Assistant, Juely B., who was apologetic and had no knowledge of the incident.
It seems the woman we had difficulty getting any information from is a new employee, no context was given regarding the HR employee who we were expecting to hear from.
We appreciate the matter being resolved, but disappointed it took so long and so much effort on our part. Obviously, we cannot speak to their roofing work as a company, but hopefully they will work on making the right personnel more accessible, and driving safety.

My wife and I have both tried to reach out to this company on numerous occasions in the past 2 months but have received nothing back but silence and the runaround in response to resolving the damage one of their truck drivers caused to our vehicle. We are both highly disappointed that a company that claims on their website to be "ethical" and "do the right thing" cannot be bothered to even respond to a phone call or email and instead provides dishonest and inaccurate information.

I have recommended to the company I work for to discontinue use of their services going forward and recommend others do the same.

The repair was less than $300 and would have been happy to negotiate. Whether they agreed to the claim or not, it is professional and considerate, or “ethical” to at least return an email and phone call.

I used Renaissance for my leaking roof. Nick Hughes is a very pleasant, hard working, young man with a pleasant personality. The company has a gem! I recommend them to anyone! I was recommended by neighbors. Also Cindy in the office made me feel very welcome, and was considerate of my problems at hand, another gem at Renaissance!

I'm correcting a review from earlier, Renaissance fixed an issue with an install of theirs. Immediately after contacting them they sent a professional team to evaluate, determine the fix and schedule the repair. I could not have been more pleased with the level of professionalism and service from all parties involved.

First, Renaissance did a total assessment of my clay tile roof that was installed in 1930. The report included pictures and text, explaining all of the issues they observed in addition to the problem leak I had. They then created a phased plan to address the issues of the roof so as to not overwhelm me (and my budget), addressing the most pressing issues first.

The actual repair crew was prompt and professional. The crew chief was available to talk to me during the process and update me on the project. The immediate issue was fixed and the project was completed on time. They kept an immaculate work area.

Clay tile roof work is tricky business. I was very pleased with RR and will continue to use them through the phases of my roof restoration.

I witnessed this company install a brand new tile roof on a church that was one of the most beautiful roofs I've ever seen. We live in a 1937 home "McKay Built" home with a slate roof and copper accents that was all original. On Aug 10 our home sustained massive damages from a Derecho that changed the entire landscape of the neighborhood. This was continued by a 2-4 week power outage and no internet. We were very lucky as we had a whole house CAT natural gas generator that we jumped the battery with the Subaru and it ran for 10 straight days before the water pump blew (Got it all fixed oil change coolant flush water pump all the lines replaced and new battery - it's an amazing machine) but 99.5% of homes did not have power in the area at the time.

Our largest tree fell on the house and about 5 other trees had also fallen on the home. We had just purchased the home November 2019 and our home was ruined. The home had huge holes in the roof and the slate had all been severely "chattered." Gutters ripped off all the copper caps of the top ripped off, original copper lighting rods ripped from the roof, and too many other materials ripped off the home. Of all the homes in the area maybe 2-3 have a slate roof with copper accents that I have seen.

We didn't know who to contact and I found them on "slate roofers of America" organization and had also seen their work at the Catholic Church. Renaissance came and patched me up and the tarp job DID sustain extremely heavy rains. Thank you for that! I was out of town for 7 days and it rained for 7 straight days not one drop on the second level of our home. Thank you again. They even came back out and pounded the tarp again when we had another day of sustained 40 mph winds which loosened the tarp.

Tony Raleigh gave me the most detailed description of work I have ever seen. He found that the slate roof was made of Buckingham Slate which is the finest and is still being mined and produced today. Yankee gutters, copper caps, copper flashing, and copper tile patio was installed and it is so beautiful. When the work was done I could easily see the value and the money well spent.

Cindy played a great role helping us and keeping us informed throughout the entire process. The workers were very efficient and very respectful with cleaning up after each day of work. They started at 7AM and didn't stop until 5pm like clockwork. They even were working on the weekend. The scaffolding was professionally done and they also were using a tele handler - just amazing to watch - the workers knew what they were doing and that makes it easy on the home owner.

If you have a historic roofing system (copper, slate, tile, wood), you've located the right company. I am so blessed to have found them for the nature of work needed (100 year Buckingham Slate roof).

I have used Renaissance Roofing for many years beginning in 2016 following a severe hailstorm. They successfully restored my slate roof to its original condition, replaced damaged guttering and downspouts, and performed outstanding copper work where necessitated by the storm damage.

Most recently in October of 2020 Renaissance Roofing repaired our chimney including tuck pointing and mortar repair with replacement of a new chimney cap that resolved all our problems related to a tall central chimney exposed to the elements. They developed a great design with excellent application that will protect our home for years.

Renaissance employs workers who are very professional, diligent, and never consider the job finished until all involved are satisfied with the final project. They are highly recommended.

This is the third time Renaissance Roofing has repaired sections of my tile roof. Everything was fine, from the scheduling to the workers to the follow-up.

Renaissance came in for some emergency repairs to my slate tile roof. The team was very professional and provided great documentation to show me where my roof problems were and how they provided a solution.

Renaissance Roofing was perfect for me. I am in a historic district and the roofing tile are difficult to find. I was somewhat skeptical, at first because it took a minute to get me scheduled. But from the way they answer their phone calls to the finished worked made me so pleased that I chose them. They were about $300 more than the other roofing company that I was considering, but they had a very detailed contract. The guys that worked on the roof were kind, professional and fast.

I've used Renaissance Roofing a couple times now. They specialize in older roofs (slate / tile). I've had no issues with them. They are not the cheapest, but they do good work.
