I needed a new roof. My roof was approaching 25 years and I wanted to take care of it before I had a real problem. I have a large roof with many peaks and valleys which would make the replacement both complex and certainly not cheap. I had several roof contractors come out, looks things over, discuss my concerns & give me a quote. I decided on Reitzel for several reasons. I liked that they were local and had been in business for a number of years. I liked the owners direct manner in answering questions. I had also used them for minor roofing problems. They had always fixed the problem, came out when they said they would and charged a reasonable amount. Reitzel did replace my roof and I couldn't be happier. They were not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. The quality of their work was excellent. They did some things that you can't see but would pay off in years to come. The work crew that came out was exceptional - they worked for 3 days in temps of 95 degrees to complete the job. They cleaned up after themselves each day. What really impressed me was the customer service and the desire to make things "right" throughout the whole process. It was the owner of the company that looked at the roof and gave me the quote, the job foreman was there everyday to make sure things were done correctly. All my concerns/questions throughout and after the job were addressed. Simply put, I know that there are a number of good roofing companies. Reitzel did an outstanding job for me and I am happy with the results. There is no question in mind that customer service is very important to Reitzel. I would recommend them to anyone.

Outstanding work! Marc provided us with an estimate to replace our front porch posts and railings that took into account our desire not to drill into our house siding. In addition, the estimate compensated for issues in the original house construction to make for a stronger final product. The project was completed in a professional manner. The crew did a great job, including clean up.

From receiving our urgent commercial property service call request (answered by a professional and on a Saturday) till the call back from the crew was an hour ... maybe two. A site visit and assessment was immediately provided, same day as my original call. Yes, on a Saturday.

Each individual who worked on this project was direct, communicative/explanative and thorough. All while being courteous and forward thinking.

This was over a few months and a multiple-layered response to a small but complicated site location and architectural structure.

Challenges and changes will inevitably occur on a project such as this one. And that happened. How these professionals chose to manage that was immediately notifying the customer and giving the alternate plans. Things happen and bad news doesn’t get better over time. Good news for a customer is welcome too and these folks didn’t wait to deliver information. (Weather issues, inspection time changes, etc.)

I decided to call this family after reading the reviews and hearing all the great things being said. I was pleased to learn that every good thing said was completely true.

I “have” a leak that I felt was a inside line leak, however after calling a plumber(who walked in looked at the water marks and immediately said “this is an external roof issue”, it’s not from inside, )then proceeded to the water meter, came back and said “ you have no leak” he did it so quickly, that I barely had a moment to explain that my tub is right above the leak when I realized the RS Andrew’s employee was heading for the door. I knew he hadn’t done a thorough job but since I’m no plumber, I have a skeptical benefit of the doubt.

After RS ANDREWS left, I watched the leak now turn into a bigger leave even though there was no rain. That when I called this family who alluded it, what I described does not appear to be a roofing issue.

To my pleasant surprise, they agreed to come out. They were punctual, had a great firm handshake and direct eye contact, after I gave the rundown of the situation, both gentlemen, Thoroughly checked the location of the leak, the water patterns, went upstairs to the tub, thoroughly investigated(RS Andrew’s never even went upstairs),the tub and shower while the other tech, Michale, climbed the roof. The honest Roofers informed me that my original suspicions was accurate. I needed to call a new reputable plumber.

This is a totally professional, kind and honest business. I would recommend them again and again!!!

I’ve used Reitzel to install a roof, make small repairs and renovate a bathroom. Last month I used them to install 4 windows, a storm door and a back door. The workers never took a break and even brought their lunch rather than going out. They even vacuumed and cleaned work areas.

I am SO glad I found Reitzel Roofing! While I largely dislike Next Door, I do venture there for referrals for various services, and this company is a fan favorite. My initial introduction to the company was through Breonna, the first person with whom I spoke. I am into stellar customer service, and she offers that in a big dose! Very warm and professional.

Marc Reitzel came to my home, assessed the small hole in my roof, checked out the rest of the roof, and made a quick repair (and offered it at no charge, but I gave him "lunch money," as he called it!), and didn't try to upsell me in any way.

I am very impressed with the fantastic job Reitzel Roofing and Exteriors did to my house. I called Marc Reitzel to do this job because he came to my home a few years ago to look at a leak problem I had. He was honest with me and showed me how I could delay doing a roof replacement when others just tried to sell me a roof job before I needed it. I contracted Reitzel on a Monday and within one and a half weeks, the job was completed. They peeled off the old roof and installed a roof and new shutters. The crew that did the work were absolutely wonderful. They were very professional and extremely courteous. They were very careful to not damage my existing gutters, and they worked diligently to keep my property clean and undamaged. This job took one and half days to complete, start to finish. The materials that were used are what I consider to be "top-of-the-line" and of very high quality. Pleasant experience from evaluation/estimate through execution of the work. The workers did everything on the quote and proposal, and they took high quality pictures of the work they did. They were on the high side of pricing vs all the other quotes, but the estimator was more knowledgeable, thorough, and pleasant than their competitors. Very glad we went with Reitzel.

I spotted a small area of an aluminum wrapped trim board on the outside of my house. The next day I saw Reitzel down the street doing work on my neighbor’s roof. I approached the gentleman and asked if he had a minute or two to look at my house. As it turned out, it was the owner Marc. He was very polite and accommodating- did not say I needed to schedule an estimate for another day…he gave me an estimate and the work was completed the next week. Excellent company to do business with! Has followed up to make sure I was happy with the finished job and sent before and after pictures of the necessary repair. Turned out I had carpenter bee damage in one end underneath the aluminum wrapped trim board. Definitely recommend and will use them again if I need to!!

The sales rep arrived at scheduled time and accessed the roof for photos & measurements. He then spent about 45 min explaining the roofing products & installation procedures to be used.
On first day of work, the crew arrived with 8 people. My 3200 sq ft. house was completed in One Day which included a new skylight, a new attic fan, new ridge vent, & piece of new sheathing.
All supplies and old roofing material were removed from property. I was told the crew runs a magnetic “sweeper” over the driveway while working & before leaving job site to prevent tire punctures. I found a few roofing nails in the lawn & shrubbery beds, but Zero nails on the driveway!
Reitzel will likely not be your lowest roofing quote. But, they are an excellent value if you want high end materials & workmanship.

Our front roof somehow obtained a hole. Snow was in route. It was freezing cold, parts of the roof gutter and siding fell off. Prior to contacting Reitzel Roofing and Exteriors we contacted several other roofing companies who did a no-call no show, sent messages stating that the technician was in route, failed to return phone calls or they were just sorry due to overbooking...........
My husband had just returned home from the hospital. Trying to take care of him and make sure all is well with our home was overwhelming.

Reitzel is a great company to work with in Virginia Beach. They helped us replace a few wood cedar shakes on house, and inspected roof. They were timely, professional, and reasonable with price.

First, Reitzel came highly recommended as the only company I should use to inspect and repair the roof on my house.

They were very professional! I have a house on pilings with a steep roof that is difficult to inspect. No problem for Jacob who arrived with his drones. The drones were used to inspect my roof. I suspected a leak in my roof, and it was confirmed by the drones where the leak was.

I did not have to be home the day Reitzel made the repairs to my roof. They sent me photos of the repair process. Showed me why my roof was leaking (several years ago when I had a new roof put on, a different local company left the old rusty flashing around my chimney when they were supposed to replace it). Reitzel documented everything they did with photos. They even did a roof maintenance on areas that needed reinforcement or minor repairs.

I have had many issues with contractors, but with Reitzel, it was a worry-free process. I highly recommend this company, and from now on Reitzel Roofing and Exterior is the only company I will call for my roofing and home exterior needs.

Good work done to repair a low-slope roof with major rotten sections. Crew worked from dawn to dusk. Company is responsive - came back and addressed a few issues I had with final inspection. Would use them again for my next roof project. My cat approves as well - he enjoyed their Thank You gift box.

Reitzel Roofing did a wonderful job for us again! A few years ago they rebuilt the front of our ageing garage and recently they repaired the damaged garage roof. This time they also did repairs and replaced slate on the roof of our house. The work was well done, reasonably priced, and the crew was great. Would definitely use them again.

Amazing from start to finish! We had a leak in our attic and they sent someone over the same day to assess the damage and provide a quote. Jacob came out and was professional, informative, and very polite. He took pictures and video of the issues he found on our roof so we could see for ourselves and make the best decision. We decided to replace the roof and chimney housing because it was in pretty bad shape. About 1.5 weeks later, they had a team come out and get the job done in a day! They even said that they wanted to make sure they got it done as soon as they could because it was going to rain soon. A few storms later and we have no leaks and a beautiful new roof. The cherry on top, was the jar of cookies we received as a thank you from them! Top notch service that we'd recommend to anyone because they made every step of the process stress-free.

Double pane window in my dining room was accidentally broken. Called Reitzel Home Improvement. Marc came to my home, removed the window and covered the space. Had the glass replaced and window back in within hours. Such relief,as we were expecting bad storms. Quick, efficient, and professional. Would highly recommend this company.

I have been using Reitzel Home improvement for quite some time. One of the few contractors I've found that is 1) RELIABLE 2) HONEST 3)PROFESSIONAL 4) FAIRLY PRICED. My only complaint is that they don't do electrical, plumbing and everything else I need!!!!!! Intend to use them whenever I have something that falls within their wheelhouse!!!
