I was greeted by a very friendly staff. They addressed all of my concerns and gave me a great room location. The bed was very comfortable! Everything you need is closeby. Great food, coffee, gas, shopping, ect. I will definitely stay at this location in the Future.

No pool like the photos suggest and no breakfast. The room was clean, but light fixtures and dresser handles were rusty and the lamp shades were stained. Mattresses are the old coil mattresses and very spongy. Memory foam is cheap enough, I thought every hotel had upgraded by now, lol. Front desk was attended by a pleasant gentleman. Overall no complaints for the price.

Close to stores and attractions. RIGHT OFF MAJOR HIGHWAYS FRIENDLY SERVICE. THE OUTSIDE DOES LOOK SO GOOD BUT THE ROOMS ARE ALL UPDATED AND VERY CLEAN

Service was quick, and staff seemed friendly.
The room, however, was disgusting!
The hinge lock on the door is broken and half of it is missing. Mold on the bathroom ceiling. Hair in the shower. Dirty shower curtain. The mildew smell was very overwhelming. We could have kept driving, but we were so exhausted that we just toughed it out. Thankfully, it was only for one night.

We rented 2 rooms and both were absolutely disgusting. Room had a very bad cigarette smell. We had to go next door to the gas station and pick up what cleaning supplies they had just so we could sleep in it for 1 night. I would not recommend this hotel to even be a pet boarding place. It needs totally torn down and rebuilt. Added photos of just my room. Do not go by their online photos, they are very deceiving.

When I stayed at the Red Roof Inn in Hardeeville I thought that I had found new bargan chain. It was so nice with a hot breakfast, eggs and all. Nice room and very friendly and personable front desk. Well sorry. Not here. This Red Roof was not so good. NO Breafast, and for more money. Front desk had no personality at all. Not negative, just not good. Room was similar. Just didn’t get the experience for more money. Will give this a pass. 2.5 stars from me.

The rooms are not clean at all and the furniture is old. The staff was nice but for the price you would expect more. At least clean towels and floors. My room had soap and toilet paper stuck to the wall. The towels had stains as did the bed covering. It was easy on and off the highway and I had my dog thats why I went. I prepaid and decided I would just use my own linens and not walk around barefoot. The tv reception was terrible as well.

Stayed here because it had decent prices and the highest rating of all the hotels in town. (Don’t know how that’s possible) Upon checking in and getting to our room we see that everything metal in there is rusted, there’s mold on the ceiling and the pictures hanging, it’s damp, our bed had stains on it, there was mold starting on the pillows. FOOTPRINTS on the floor from it clearly not being clean, old coffee left in the pot, a half used roll of toilet paper with a broken off roll holder. The desk was halfway kicked out, no wifi, tv signal is absolute trash. And to top it off we found not one but TWO cockroaches. Needless to say we did NOT stay and checked out the next morning as when we got there it was too late to find somewhere else. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AS THEY CLEARLY DONT CLEAN ANYTHING OR CARE ABOUT THE ROOMS.

I'm sure I've stayed in over 350 hotels in my lifetime, at least. This is tied for 1st place in needing to be torn down. It's past the part of cleaning or hospitality. That said, some basic stuff can be done to at least make it feel a little better. Nothing was dusted. There were insects - flying and crawling. The light fixtures look liked they were next to a water/boat dock all their lives. This is the first time EVER I didn't take a shower in the morning because I actually thought I would get dirtier from it! Shoes stayed on the whole time. I got out of there as quick as I could - but no other hotel had vacancy that night on my drive from Florida north. And they should have paid me to stay here instead of charging me $80. Management - please gut the place and START OVER. Thanks

Normally I’m not super picky. I just want a clean space, a shower, and for things to work. I don’t care that all the metal fixtures are rusty (they are). I appreciate the microwave, the refrigerator, and the free pets. Red Roof is great for that. And the man at the desk and the housekeepers at this place are all very nice. And Saint George is a nice town to stop in. But as with other Red Roofs, my main complaint is please make sure the room is really ready and things are working before you put guests in. Like maybe a checklist? This time one of the bedside lights wasn’t working. And - a BIG and - THERE WAS NO HOT WATER IN THE SHOWER. I let it run forever hoping it would get warm, but not even a hint of warmth. I can forgive that there were not enough towels and that my key was deactivated and I got locked out of my room while I was packing my car even though it was 35 minutes before checkout time, but not being able to take a shower is really knocking down my review.

I have stayed in red roofs for over 20 years. This red roof inn rooms are so dirty and disgusting. I definitely will not stay at this red roof again. If I hadn’t driven 20 hours and needed some sleep, I would’ve left immediately. Need to do some deep cleaning owner!!! Shame on you!!!

We always stay at Red Roof Inn when we go back north to visit family. We always make reservations on their website and then call to make sure everything is confirmed. We get there, check in, and walk to my room (not what I requested). Already aggravated from all the driving and traffic, I walk back up thinking they made a mistake. Oh no, they did have the room I requested. They put us in a room with rust on the lamps, a broken AC unit, a remote that you had to hold the batteries in, the smallest towels ever, and a dirty microwave. The ice machine across from our room kept me up all night. The floor was dirty, and my room smelled like smoke. They still charged me the same price.

Stopped through last night on my way North with my family. Was a last minute stop since we were all getting tired. the gentleman at the counter took great care of us. Room was alittle musty and had a water stain on the ceiling in the bathroom but other than that no bugs and very clean. Thank you so much for being so patient and kind to our family.

On Oct 16th I booked a room at the St George South Carolina Red Roof Inn. I have been a red roof member for approx three years. We have our favourites as we come from Canada down to Florida every year and back. The St. George, South Carolina red roof roof Inn is by far the worst inn I have ever stayed in.
The heat didn’t work at all would not turn on, the fridge was dripping all over the floor and defrosting, the phone was not working, wasn’t even plugged in. The painting on the wall was crooked and when I went to fix it, they nailed it crooked. The floor was so filthy that I had to wash it twice just so I feel comfortable to walk on it with my bare feet. The table lamp was extremely rusted, and there was no bulb in it anyway. I would believe that it doesn’t work. The microwave was dirty inside. I had to wash it before I put my food in it. The lock on the outside bolt lock wouldn’t lock as there was no mechanism to keep it secure. The pillows are large and lumpy and have a smell to them. So I got to stay in a room that had no heat, no security, no fridge, dirty microwave, a sink that wouldn’t drain properly, rusty doorhandles on all of the furniture, a filthy floor that I had to wash, a phone that wouldn’t work. I paid $64 for that
In a word it was disgusting. If it wasn’t so late when I got there and I wasn’t so tried I would have left.

The front desk gentleman was very nice. The room looked OK when I first walked in, but then I immediately saw two roaches and another dead insect in the bathroom. The room smelled like fish. Moved me to the room next-door. It smelled bad too, water pressure was not great in the shower, not many stations on the TV. The TV was very fuzzy. Bed was tilted and I kept rolling to one side all night long. Pillows were lumpy. Air conditioner rather loud. Otherwise, the room was quiet and the property was peaceful.

The room overall was clean. Bed was comfortable. No signs of bedbugs. I arrived at 4pm. The front desk guy was nice and polite.

Rooms were not too bad for a quick stop all though advertised breakfast was not available. The overnight front desk agent who checked us in ( of older indian-decent) was an extremely rude, obnoxious and clueless person (took an hour to check in). He was the worst experience out of the stay!

It may be my own fault because I asked for a first floor room when I arrived. The room I booked was guest rated at 9.8 the room we got might have been rated a 4. It smells musty and a little like seafood. Everything steel is rusted. Very discouraged. There are stains on the comforter otherwise it is clean thank god.

A lot of money has been spent on refurbishing the rooms, new bathroom, furniture bedding etc. sadly the room is so damp, the lamp was rusted. Tv had very few actual channels that worked, even though a channel lost is provided. Furniture smelt of mold and mildew. The towels were questionable, one smelt of mildrew so it had been sitting there unused for a while. Sheets were very damp and smelt, I did not bring much into the room because I didn’t want my stuff to smell. I just needed a place to sleep to break up my trip. But honestly wish I had gone somewhere else. Cheap is not always the best way to go. You get what you pay for. .

I’m currently at the Red Roof Inn St. George and I’m disappointed in the cleanliness of my room. There are stains on the bedding, hair on the floor, and the walls have chipped paint. The baseboard molding has dirt and I’ve killed cockroaches in my room. The toilet is also not secured to the floor and the bathroom smells horrible. The only plus is that it is right off the highway and near a gas station.

Beware. Watch out here. Scam artists.
Plus air conditioner and heater units are very old.. nothing worse than contaminated rooms.. plus the beds are very old. You wake up with back pain. Yours truly world top secret agent special agent 0026. I will be giving the whole report to the Highest Supreme Court of Washington DC how the Red roof inn franchise and other hotel franchises need to be shut down and restructured. My team has checked out this hotel.. they need to shut down and remodel. Soon. Everyone wants easy money. Nothing better than having billions of working World FBI agents. Remember always to be loyal to the customers. 53 years I have a computer in my head and cameras to my eyes. Gotcha candid camera.. can't wait to see your franchise in World Supreme Court

My team in the highest command center says once you report to World Supreme Court we're going to seize all your hotels and it'll all be like 10 store hotels owned by the world government.. nothing worse then organizations profiting
money and not fixing their hotels then hundreds of thousands of people getting sick.. when we come to your hotel it's for an internal investigation.. your organization failed multiple counts. And your water heaters they better work or will get you for wasting water

Was given room 101 initially, that room was gross, missing parts on the floor, plunger on a plastic bag, stuff on the walls, looks like no one swept or mopped the floors, rusty light fixtures, vaneer missing off the headboard. Claw marks all over the floor. We requested another room which they provided with no problem.

The second room was on the second story. That room was a million times better and was more updated. We had stayed previously in that room or one of the ones on that level and it was clean and remodeled as well. Overall I would of rated it higher if given the second room first cause I would not of known that some of the rooms are gross. All rooms are not created equal so I guess just ask for a different room if you get one of the bad ones.

First room would of gotten a 1 star
Second room would of been a 3 - 4 star for the price.

First, this was not like any other Red Roof Inn. Front desk and lobby, very clean.
Rooms very unsatisfied. Not sure floors very cleaned. No toilet paper holder. Beds very uncomfortable, could not sleep. Appears old, no support, not firm. Toilet seat plastic very cheap and loose. Shower, room 120, shower head leaks and sprays water onto ceiling which now is black and moldy. Disgusting... Sink clogged, drains very slow.
Will not stay at this Red Roof Inn. Staff unfriendly, day hello to them, get no response back.

Well I may have already been frustrated before even getting to the hotel, okay yes I was. I was frustrated because I needed an accessible room being as I'm recently paralyzed and in a wheelchair. Well this was the closest hotel I could find with an accessible room so yes ibwas a little frustrated to have to go 11 miles out of my way to get here, but I didn't bring the frustration with me. So upon pulling into the parking lot before even getting in the door to check in I was asked to move my vehicle because the person in front of me couldn't get out, the parking wasn't good if you have a trailer or large truck. When I go to check in there's something wrong with their system and they have call system support so it took longer to finally get checked in. While waiting someone came into the lobby saying there was already someone in the room they were given! Wow! When I get to the room it was hot and muggy in the room but that was okay I turned on the air. I went to turn on the lights and the lamps were rusty. Then I noticed something on the floor behind the chair in the room, it was someone's shorts! Apparently they didn't clean it very well. The toilet paper holder was ripped off the wall so they just sit the rolls on the back of the toilet. There were no towels in the room, none and when I go to call to ask for towels the telephone doesn't have a cord! Wasn't happy with this place. I can look past a couple of things, but it seemed like everywhere I turned there was another issue.

To call this place a s### hole would be an understatement. Dirty, old, & bad service! Spend the extra couple of buck and stay somewhere else the is no bargain here. Old building with a new paint job, look at the old and tattered sign out front and that explains what you’re going to get.

The night manager was clearly asleep when we got there. It took him a bit to understand we wanted a room. The room was clean and attractive. There was some sort of loud argument in the morning. Not the best clientele.

Our recent stay at Red Roof Inn, St. George, SC was a nightmare!||||||An employee, who lives in one of the rooms, has a dog that attacked our boxer upon our arrival. Our dog was being walked (on a leash) on the grass in front of the motel, when the employee's dog came running out of the room and bit our dog in the neck and cheek. The dog then bit her paw and would not let go, even when the owner tried pulling his dog off of ours. My husband had to kick the dog to get it to let go. It was reported to the police. The emergency vet bill was close to $300.00. Dangerous animal to have at a pet friendly motel!||||||To make matters worse, no one from the front desk even asked if our dog was okay! She has been on meds for 10 days, and is still healing.||||||We will NEVER stay at a Red Roof again!

For 2 persons was only one soap and shampoo, wasn't napkins. At 7:45 am the coffee finished as receptionist said. Nobody do the new. It was my 11 staying at Red Roof, and must be free, but I paid for it.

This place is all about location, convenience, and affordability. The rooms are exactly as previously pictured. Although, our room (113) had rusting lamps, it was a bed and kept my girl and I from sleeping at a rest area on our way down to Florida. Plus, being close to some food and 95 are huge bonuses! However, drop ceilings don't belong in a bathroom.

Everything we order a room on priceline for a certain room like a king for example the same guy gives us a double but another guy gives us the room we ordered. Why must I pay for something I didn't order? That's bad business. The guy that give us the double instead of a king say there are no kings left and lie bout it. Other than its good.

Room was dirty. Saw a german roach crawling up the wall by the bed. Told the clerk about it, he said it wasn't his problem and he would have the owner call me to make it right. Still haven't heard anything. If you want to stay in a roach motel...this is it!!!!

It was pretty good for a quick stop off of 95. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Quiet area, easy parking with room for a trailer. Front desk was helpful. Price was good, around $100. Towels could use an upgrade, and the coffee maker was on the fritz, but still produced a cup for quick wake up. Shower had good stream and hot if needed. Wifi ok and cable tv good.Would stay there again for an economical night's rest.

Edit 5/15/25. This place has gone incredibly downhill. The room was filthy and moldy, with more roaches than I've ever seen in a hotel room. Woke up in the middle of the night to a roach in the bed, barely slept, and was rudely rushed out at checkout despite explaining that I barely slept. Horrible experience, will never be back. Please stay away from this place. Can't believe I gave this place 5 stars just last year.

Old post: Stay here every time I drive to FL. Never disappoints.
