RBC Bran Home Company provided exceptional service when we needed a chimney cap replacement in Branford. Kent was thorough, installing a custom chimney cap and addressing chimney draft issues. They also performed a quick chimney odor removal, leaving everything clean and fresh. Booking was easy, and the team was very professional. I highly recommend their services to anyone in need of chimney repairs or maintenance.
The job was well done but they don't keep to the lifetime warranty as promised. Effort to reach them has proofed futile because the number on the website does not work. Customer service is really poor. I would have given them zero if that was an option. I will not recommend this company to friends and for that matter anyone.
I have been trying to call Tri-State now for a month but the lines were busy and now appear disconnected. I signed a deal with Matt (Brad's Nephew) for a special low price of $12,000 for 50 year shingles, later to find out I could have had it done with the same shingles elsewhere for $8,500 and the roof would be tarped. They stripped my old roof and installed a new one back in February 2007. They used a South American crew that never tarped the roof and 7 years later I'm still finding roofing nails in my lawn. The roof leaked the first heavy Spring rain and ruined the drywall in my 3 season room. They did fix the leak but refused to repair the damage. Several nails popped through the shingles and they did come out and patch them stating new plywood should have been installed, which was up to the South American crew to determine. Recently another leak developed over a window. Jeremy from Tri-State came out in August 2014 and determined the leak was because the roof was not properly flashed where it joined the siding. He said they would come out to fix it but now it appears as of late October that won't happen. My next move is to drive out to their location and try to see them face to face, if anyone is still there. If that doesn't work it's off to small claims court with Brad and Kathleen (left out last names but you can look it up), the two members listed on C.O.N.C.O.R.D. under TRI-STATE OF BRANFORD, LLC which is the state of CT Commercial Recording Division. The LLC still shows active. In CT they have a Home Improvement Guarantee Fund up to $15,000 to correct these problems if small claims provides a judgement in your favor. The Shingle manufacturer wants nothing to do with it since it is an installation issue. I really didn't want to go down the ugly road but see no option. I would be glad to withdraw my negative comments and repace them with accolades if they would just follow through on their promise and back up their work.
