He will interview you and based on the feedback, outline a few options. The initial scope and estimate was comprehensive. He and team were also able to make adjustments during the project to accommodate changes and new requests.

I hired another contractor to replace flashing around three leaking windows along one wall but they created more damage than they repaired. Joe and his crew really helped out by taking over and then correcting their work. No more leaks. During a rain storm I noticed a leak in my attic. I had used a different company previously and had had a bad experience with them, so I decided to look around and researched for more reputable companies. Amity Home Maintenance Solutions fit the bill so I gave them a call. Joe called me back within an hour of my leaving a voicemail and we had an appointment for a time and date that worked for me.

Joe showed up on time with a professional looking truck. He came inside to my attic and inspected the roof to make sure that he understood exactly what I had seen to determine the extent of my problem. He explained exactly what it was and had it fixed that same day as it was a problem of a more simple nature.

The whole process was smooth and I feel as if he charged a very fair amount. I fully plan on using them for any future home exterior projects that I have. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a fair and honest contractor.

Edit: I booked Amity Home Maintenance Solutions to fix another problem. Again, they impressed me with their professionalism, fairness, and quickness with resolving my problem. This time they replaced the flashing around the larger of my chimneys. The price was fair and the work looks great. I have no doubt that my second leak is as fixed as the first one.

I couldn't leave a second, independent review, so I decided to include this extra information here. You really cannot go wrong with this company. After my two experiences, I still highly recommend them.

We recently hired Amity Home Maintenance Solutions to redo our roof after we had a nightmare experience with a different local roofing company at the end of last year.

To give some context, a previous roofer (we'll call him Roofer #1) had done a completely botched job on our roof. Roofer #1 was extremely disrespectful with our property, damaged our home and landscaping and dragged the roof replacement work on for an absurdly long period of time after he had gotten his initial payment and stripped part of our old roof. The roof installed by Roofer #1 leaked a week and a half after it had been put on and multiple 3rd-party inspections confirmed that this previous roofer had done almost everything wrong. Roofer #1 didn't stand by his warranty and stopped responding to our phone calls when we asked him to fix our roof or refund our money.

This experience made us a bit gun shy with roofing companies, but we knew that we needed to have the roof replaced again, so we got several quotes on the replacement work from manufacturer certified roofers.

Joe from Amity Home Maintenance Solutions showed up on time for the quote and his communication was excellent. I liked that Joe not only quoted the work but also supervised the work himself. The other roofing companies we got quotes from had salespeople who just handled quotes, so it was hard to get a real sense of who we might be hiring.

During his initial visit Joe caught several issues that were missed by the salespeople from the other companies, and was up front about costs. We needed some decking replaced, which we had expected, but Joe made sure to call it out to us and make us aware of how this would impact the final price. We needed photographs of the old roof and decking for insurance as well as documentation of damage found and Joe was happy to provide this for us.

Ultimately Amity's quote came in right in the middle of all the quotes we had received for our roof and we went with them because they had excellent online reviews and were GAF certified.

Joe checked in with us the day before work started and made sure that both the shingles and dumpster had been delivered properly. It only took Amity's crew one day to replace our roof (it had taken the previous roofer almost a month) and the Amity crew showed up to work 15 minutes early and got straight to work. Everyone was extremely professional and efficient and I can't imagine having had an easier experience having a roof replaced.

We ended up needing to have a decent amount of damaged decking replaced and pretty much all the flashing on the house. Joe checked in with us as damage was found. The cost of the job came in exactly at the price that Joe had quoted and there were no surprises. Amity's crew was careful with our house and landscaping and when they left the property looked the same as it did when they started. Cleanup was outstanding. Our experience with Amity was night and day with the previous roofer and we will definitely use Amity again for work on our house.

After the roof was finished and he had been fully paid, Joe followed up several times to make sure that we were happy with our new roof and that the dumpster removal had been done to our satisfaction.

Based on our experience I can't recommend Amity Home Maintenance Solutions enough. The whole crew seemed to care about professionalism and quality and our roof came out looking great. They fixed all the issues with the previous roof installation and seemed to genuinely care about the quality of our entire experience from start to finish.

Joe and his installers did an excellent job replacing two older skylights with new VELUX products this week and I could not be more impressed with the product quality and Joe's responsiveness from initial quote, navigating and communicating supply chain issues through on-time and easy (for me) install. A man of his word, Joe was a pleasure to work with and we plan to contact him again for a few more jobs in the near future. Highly recommend!

Joe and his team replaced 3 sliding glass doors and 3 sliding windows. Typically, it is a two day job, but when I told him I wasn't available for the second day, he stayed for 12 hours and got the job completed! I am completely satisfied. While he was there, he also pointed out defects in the siding that the condominium association should (and now will) fix.

Joe was excellent. We had had our roof replaced in fall of 2021 by a recommended (but unknown to us, unlicensed contractor). The roof still leaked, and the flashing around the chimney leaked so bad I had to install temporary interior gutters. I reached out to the contractor, he came over, saw the problems, and then he was completely unresponsive for months.
I called Joe, he was great, super responsive, and came out for an estimate the next day. His price was very reasonable and he is very knowledgeable about the process and products. He and his crew came out the next week and did a bang up job. They were fast, neat, and polite. The roof looks great and I am confident the repairs were done properly.

Joe and his team did a great job on fixing our attic fan. We unfortunately needed a new one after the old fan basically blew off during a wind storm leaving an opening in the roof. Joe quickly came out tapped up the opening from the old fan and secured a water resistant barrier till he could schedule a time to install the new one. We are great-full that he did that for us so we would not get water in the attic and further damages. Joe came and fixed the fan the following week and did an excellent job. Joe and his workers are very professional, friendly and efficient. We are happy with the new attic fan and happy we choose the right people to fix it. Thank you again!

My house sprung a leak early on a Saturday morning. Joe and Fernando came out first thing to take a look. They got the quote back to me a couple days later and got to work. After a heavy wind / rain storm, we had a water leak coming from the exterior of our house and showing up in the form of carpet and ceiling stains on the interior. Great job by Joe, Fernando and Sandy! We got the siding of our house painted (cedar clapboard), and new gutters installed. Joe came out, explained all the aspects of the job, brought over color samples, and also painted a number of our color choices on the actual siding. The painting didn't start after meticulous preparation, including power washing, sanding any flaky old paint off, and repairing siding and trim boards were needed. We hired this company to stain the exterior of our home. They are responsive and arrive on site on time and work FULL days. They don’t leave early- they eat lunch on site to not waste any time. This is a good crew I would hire again. They also worked around our schedule as we were still doing siding repairs. Amity HMS did an outstanding job on our exterior home renovations – replacing rotted wood trim siding, removing old and installing new gutters, painting the entire exterior (all wood), and installing new decorative window shutters on our colonial.
Every day Joe was on the jobsite, working with his crew, who, by the way, also were hard-working and detail-oriented. They make a good team.
In our discussions regarding the scope of the job, Joe offered excellent suggestions, with which I agreed. For example, he recommended thicker-gauge 6-inch gutters vs. the house’s current 5-inch system (6-inch's ability to handle much more volume of rainwater than the 5-inch, which helps during torrential downpours, which we get every year).
Other things we like about our experience:
Before the job started, Joe brought up a quart of the paint and color we wanted, and brushed it on several of the clapboards, just to double-check that we were absolutely happy with the color.
At the end of every day, the crew cleaned up the job site, very meticulously. I know that this is in part due to Joe's expectations. He is a very neat and orderly individual – his company truck is spotless, and not at all what I usually see with contractors.
To summarize, (1) the quote was competitive, and (2) the work was done with precision and in a very timely manner. It was so very nice to not have to worry about scheduling and other details of renovation work (I'm a die-hard DIY'er who is slowly realizing his limitations getting older).

I called several local people for quotes, and Joe was not only the only one to show up on time (at exactly the time we specified, on the dot -- others were flakey and would give me a two hour window and then be forty-five minutes late), but also the most helpful and detail oriented.

The job was completed quickly and Joe and Fernando worked super efficiently and were helpful and kind enough to also show us how to do certain things ourselves in case we had any problems in the future. I'll be using Amity again in the future if we ever need any other repairs, no question.

When I noticed a leak at my roof, I immediately called what appeared to be 3 experienced, local roofers for estimates. One never returned my call, the other said that the skylight next to the leak needed to be replaced.
Then Joe showed up. He was nice, professional and confident from the beginning that the leak was not caused by the skylight but from a small hole in the roof. He got up on the roof to do a leak test and showed us where the hole was, which was not visible to the untrained eye. He fixed the problem and since the repair, the roof has not leaked. Thanks Joe.

I hired Joe and his partner, Fernando, to repair some siding on my garage from a squirrel infestation. I called three contractors before Joe returned my call promptly. It was a pleasure to work with Joe and his staff at Amity Home Maintenance Solutions. Joe and his staff were always courteous, professional and clean. AHMS performed major repairs to the gutter system, slate roof, rebuilt and painted the main entrance way to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. All of the work was performed with the utmost attention to detail respecting the architecture and design of the church building. He work around our church schedule never interfering with any church service. I am confident that all of the repairs performed will beautify and protect the church from the elements of the weather for many years.

We hired Amity Home Maintenance Solutions to install siding, trim and new gutters to our home. Joe came to our home on multiple occasions to help us with design/color choices. He provided us samples, gave thoughtful recommendations and effectively guiding us through this project from inception to fruition. Joe excels in communication and reliability. We have used him in the past to remove an old chimney and we plan on using him in the future for other projects.

I hired Joe and his crew for replacement windows, laminate flooring, and interior painting of a rental townhouse. He was always on time and very professional. The work was done promptly, to a very high level, and they left everything clean when they were done. A few minor issues did pop up afterwards, and Joe showed up very quickly to fix them, even though he had already been paid. A lot of other contractors have a habit of blowing the customer off once they have been paid, but not Joe. His prices are what I would call "fair" (but not cheap) for the quality of work that his crew delivers. In this case, one gets what one pays for. I would recommend if you are looking for a reliable contractor to deliver quality work at a fair price for the job.

Joe and his team replaced 3 large skylights in my house. I found the quality of his work to be excellent, and the entire process overall to be a great experience. Joe is very through in his work we had a very challenging job in Hamden where the customer had the wrong size gutters and when he removed them. All of the facia board was rotted and had to be replaced and re-wrapped. He gave me solid estimate for what the work was going to be and Joe was spot on.
