We decided to build with RB Olsen for our first home and couldn't be happier with the end result. Being first time home owners and builders we didn't know much about the process, but RB Olsen took away all of our worries. They were communicative, professional, and happy to help with any of our needs. We highly recommend them for anybody who is looking for a high-quality home.

Maja was the Project Manager for our kitchen remodel. She was so attentive in taking care of each portion of the project. Communication with us was outstanding. The subcontractors they used were so professional, punctual, courteous and did great work. I have used Bob, Lori, and crew for other construction projects in the past and would very much recommend them.

My wife and I had the best experience building with RB Olson Construction. Bob, Lori and Maja were great to work with! We would build with RB Olson Construction again, in a heartbeat. Not only were they responsive 7 days a week, but they also made the experience, positive and informative! They are the best in the Palouse!

Some of the worst costumer service and rudest people I have ever delt with. I cannot speak for thier work quality, but as far as how they treat those who are not knowledgeable or have neurodiverse ways of thinking and communicating it's TERRIBLE!
Contacting them was very unpleasant and the original lady who picked up the phone gave me to another person without explanation after I simply asked about foundations. I highly recommend NEVER even calling this company unless you don't wish to communicate at all with your contractors.

We started working with Bob, Lori, and Maja in August of 2021, they started building our home in October 2021, and they completed our home in May 2022. We enjoyed the entire experience with them and they made it extremely easy. They were also patient with us as we worked to sell our own home. They catered to our expectations, while guiding us on decisions to end up with the highest quality home.

Bob has the highest expectation for quality and does not let inferior work slide. He was easy to communicate with and a pleasure to work with. Lori helped us through ordering many of the interior parts of our home and keeping the communication going throughout the entire project. Maja helped drive the project and deliverables to completion, on time. She also helped us select our interior closet design, flooring, and lighting. It was also a pleasure to work with Ken, as he was always professional and courteous when we stopped by to see how the house was coming along. The entire team worked extremely well with their suppliers, ensuring back up plans were in place during the supply chain crisis and period of time where many materials were difficult to come by.

We were blessed to have that first conversation with Bob in August and we will be forever grateful for this experience with R. B. Olson Construction.

We met Bob Olson on the phone when we were still living in Texas. Since then he has built us a large shop and beautiful house here in Idaho. Bob, Lori and their crew were very helpful throughout the design and build process. We would recommend R. B. Olson Construction to anyone interested in building their dream home.

If you are looking for a general contractor to build a custom home, RB Olson Construction should be your choice. The focus is on delivering quality and value. Bob and Lori will keep you involved at every step of the project, and your input and objectives are always considered. Bob's knowledge is a great asset when making decisions on different options along the way. His teams of subcontractors are competent, friendly and responsive so work is done on time and to specifications. In the rare instance when a problem arises, Bob's response is rapid and thorough. We received the keys to our house on time and on budget. Overall, working with RB Olson was an excellent decision and we are delighted with our house.

We decided to contract with R. B. Olson to build a house after interviewing Bob and three other local builders in 2013. With his help we purchased a lot and worked with Mascord Design Associates to revise a stock house plan for our needs. Excavation and foundation work began in October, followed by framing in December. We moved into our new house June of the next year. The only problem a few months later was a slight leak around a window during wind-driven rain. It was quickly solved by Bob and Kenny with additional caulking.

Bob did an excellent job laying out a detailed building schedule for his team and all sub-contractors keeping us informed as the project moved along. It was also clear what was included and completed in the regular, detailed invoicing process for us to approve for payment by the bank. Since we were living in Indiana during the building process, we very much appreciated this amount of detail and the support and design ideas Bob and Lori gave us over the telephone, via videos and when we came to Pullman at critical design decision points. The bottom line: I highly recommend talking with Bob and Lori about your construction needs.

R.B. Olson Construction built a beautiful custom home for me in Pullman in 2017. I engaged them very early, so I had the benefit of some site feasibility conversations and plan modifications, as well. From start to finish, every step of the process was proactively and thoughtfully explained to me. The RBO team always made themselves available to answer my questions and provide input and insight on schedule, process, and design, and proactively sought my guidance on matters of style. Our contract was clearly written and proposals were accurate, so there were no surprises at the end of the project. I always felt like my job was a priority. At the end of the day, my home is a dream come true and, if I did it all over again, I wouldn't consider anyone else for the job.

We built a home with Bob and Lori during 2017 and couldn't have asked for a better experience. From the conceptual phase to the one-year warranty items the service was top-notch. We chose them due to the quality and beauty of other homes that they had built in the area.

Bob went out of his way to help us find a lot that would work for the house plan that we had chosen. We met with city planners and visited a couple of different lots together. Due to his vision we bought a lot that presented some challenges common to Pullman (slope, large 30' easement, small, etc.) but was also very affordable and had a great view. In order to make the house fit on the lot we needed a variance from the City of Pullman, and Bob was present at the board of adjustment meeting to help plead our case.

Bob and Lori were also present during the design of the kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities. Their input was invaluable due to their experience building beautiful homes.

The subcontractors that Bob chose were friendly and easy to work with. They were respectful of our young children during visits and refrained from smoking on the job site.

We experienced some challenges with our lender that were a bit of an inconvenience for Lori, which she handled very gracefully. Lori's paperwork was simple and she was willing to take the time to explain the details that we didn't understand as first-time home builders.

Without hesitation I would recommend RBO Construction to anyone who desires to have a pleasant experience building a beautiful, quality home.

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
