I have been working with Quality Design Homes for 12 years. During that time I have seen all stages of construction for over 250 houses. Dan’s team is very efficient and his product is consistent with today’s standards. I have talked with many of his clients and most are surprised at how quickly they can get into a new affordable home.

Quality Design Homes built our home in 2022. We moved in at the end of October that year. In December of 2024 my husband noticed our roof was leaking. We wrote a review and Dan Yonge reached out to fix the issue. He promptly had the subcontractor for his roofing come to our home. The subcontractor sent a worker to our house the next day. We thought the roof issue was fixed. Unfortunately today, February 5, 2025, my husband noticed the same area was leaking again! Apparently the flashing that was suppose to fix the issue was done done correctly. It was a bandage approach….wham….bam….quantity over quality. We are very disappointed and frustrated.
Will it get fixed correctly by the company that says it builds “quality homes”? It is my hope that yes it will get fixed and I will remove this review. If not, the review will go down by one more star as d their name should be changed to Quantity Design Homes…..build fast but not to last.

This is the second house I’ve purchased from Dan Younge-quality design homes. The whole staff are easy to work with. Very organized. Very helpful. They truly want you to love your home or they wouldn’t offer such an excellent warranty program! Had nothing but excellent service from Dan and Mark and Jeremy and Rachael. I’ve lived in the Appleside townhomes 2 Years and have enjoyed watching the crews put up the new places. They are all very hard workers and very friendly as well. I see them working way beyond what most contractors will work and they are very steady and on schedule. My daughter had a house built by a private contractor and they did not show up all the time that doesn’t happen around here. People are on the job every day and they are working hard to meet their deadline and to do a great job! I highly recommend Quality Design Homes to anyone! Now I’m in the only solo house in the subdivision and loving it! It’s beautiful and everything is constructed very well! I have beautiful granite countertops and an awesome custom tile shower. I’ll be here the rest of my life! Thank you Quality Design Homes!!

Everything that goes into these houses is bought from the valley and all of the subs are from the valley. Great local company that supports local business. The houses look great and it's also a great place to work.

Update: Fortunately the contracted roofer came and worked on our roof and found a hole that the nailer had caused. We are hoping this will be the final fix. He also dropped off a portion of sheet rock due to the mold that has grown from the five plus months of leaking. Once again, we are hopeful (it’s unfortunate it even happened). Updated March 2025

Mike, once again, has to fix the shoddy craftsmanship of a Dan Yonge build. Our roof is leaking. Our home is two years and two months old….the roof should not be leaking. Where the roofers put in the transition of the two roof lines, they nailed a bunch of nails but somehow left a canal line for water to go directly under the shingles. The leak has made its way into the area of the garage ceiling and our staircase to the bonus room. It’s hidden. If Mike hadn’t been putting in more insulation, this leak could have caused more damage as we wouldn’t even known it was happening.

I’m grateful Mike can fix almost anything. I’m saddened he has to fix something that should have been done correctly.

I’m frustrated that Dan Yonge gets away with another shoddy job. He is very difficult to work with whenever there is an issue….granted, our one year warranty is over. (The sub contractors are on such a tight schedule that they seem to do quick work rather than quality work, or they have to pay a penalty fee. ) The leak was found in October of 2024 after purchasing our new home in October of 2022.

If you’re considering purchasing a Dan Yonge home, be forewarned as there will probably be multiples of issues in his builds.

Dan and his team does a fantastic job. They stay on budget and communication is very good. You will get the home finished on time and they are there for you after the project is complete!

I moved into my new home built by Quality Design Homes in May of 2022. I could not be happier with my purchase and service I received. Every aspect of the home was clearly explained and all of my questions answered in a timely manner. In fact any time I have contacted QDH since I moved in they have been quick to respond and follow up as needed. The home is exactly what I was looking for and hoped I would find. The attention to the design elements and details in craftsmanship are greatly appreciated. I was in a bit of a time crunch to move out of my previous residence and I received keys on the day I was promised from the beginning. I really appreciated the time taken to review the warranty information. The final walk through was thorough and very helpful to me as a new homeowner. During the walk through it was obvious the pride Dan Yonge and his team have in the homes they build.

Quality Design Homes builds a quality affordable home. These homes are excellent for people who do not want a lot of stairs. They use local venders to support the local economy. The have the experience to get the job done quickly and done right.

Prior to moving to Idaho, I had 2 homes built by a national brand. I felt fortunate finding QDH, because I can honestly say that they have a much better understanding of homebuyer needs, especially when it comes to customization. The company listens to what you need and is honest about what will work in the plan design. This experience did not feel like I was just another number in the house lottery like I did with the national brand. Making connections and being heard, made this home buying experience with QDH much more pleasurable than my past experiences. I highly recommend this company.

If anyone is considering building a home- either to upsize or downsize- I STRONGLY recommend they speak with Dan and his team. QDH works with many local businesses on every project and they do fantastic work. It is often more affordable than buying an existing home in the current market, and they always deliver on their timelines without cost overruns or delays. As a real estate broker with 20+ years experience, I can truthfully say that QDH would be MY first choice to build a new home.

As a first-time home buyer I wasn't sure what to expect when I contacted QDH. From the first interaction I knew the staff here was genuine and honest. They had clear and regular communication throughout the process. Not only were they timely on building the house, the quality was very good. Although there are numerous ways to customize a home through upgrades, we opted for most of the standard options. When we moved into the home we were thrilled with the quality of the baseline choices. Additionally, QDH offers a 1-year craftsman warranty on the home. So if there are any mistakes or things that fail in the first year they've got your back! In the modern world of convenience I can't think of a better way to purchase a new construction home. QDH takes care of all the behind-the-scenes headaches (e.g. permits, sub-contractors, titles, etc.) and lets the buyer do the fun stuff (e.g. choosing flooring, cabinets, paint, etc.). I unreservedly give QDH the highest recommendation to anyone looking to build a new home.
