A guy from this company came to my door unsolicited in early 2024. He told my wife he'd visited previously and, finding no one home, poked around our property and found serious storm damage to our roofs.

There is no such storm damage and he was also basically admitting to trespassing. I wrote to the company with concerns and they never even bothered to reply.

I, at least, will not do business with these people.

I wouldn’t recommend this company to ANYONE, even in desperation. If I could leave zero stars I would. I had my roof and siding done end of 2022. Since then I had two major issues as a result; the first being the bathroom exhaust was never reconnected to the roof so moisture was building up until it caused leaking water into my home. This was resolved early 2024 but no follow up was completed letting me know it was done until this year when incident two occurred and then I was informed this was in fact completed. The second incident being that the siding was never cut out, covering our dryer exhaust vent. The dryer was venting into the siding for 2 and a half years, a major fire hazard. I had to get the city involved and as it turns out, a final inspection was never done, nor were photos ever submitted of the underlay. I have children and pets in my home, and the concern for a fire was not a care at all for the owner, Greg, who shook the situation off. He was prompt to fix the problem, which is great, but despite my four requests for compensation or financial reimbursement for now having had a second huge issue, he has ignored every single one. He’s made sure to respond to other matters in the email, which confirms he received them but ignored the financial request every single time as if it was never sent. What a joke, not even saying no, just blatant ignorance of the message entirely. If you think about requesting money back for a project poorly done, you won’t get a response no matter how many efforts. Save your time and go with literally any other company. If you look at the other negative reviews, he’s made sure to ignore those as well. Save yourself the time and headache with this company.

The Preferred team did an absolute top notch job. Of course insurance wanted to drag their feet and be difficult but the staff at Preferred battled the whole way and got us a win! We ended up with new top of the line windows in the whole house and a new roof. The work was exceptional and the cleanup was to the point you wouldn't even know anyone ever came.

Preferred Contracting and Construction replaced the roof and siding on our house and garage. After 2023 storm damage, they worked with our insurance company to make sure everything that could be covered, was covered, saving us out of pocket expenses. They made it easy, explaining each step of the process and answering our questions along the way.

Unfortunately, during the project, a window and some of our screens were damaged. I was even impressed with how the Preferred Contracting team handled these set backs, replacing what was broken quickly and professionally.

First experience making a hail damage claim. Jake and his crew made this process very smooth, efficient and quick! Wonderful customer service. Absolute worst experience I have ever had with a contractor in my life. They came highly recommended to me, so I hired them to take care of my roof and siding hail damage, on the front end they were great, punctual, seemed like a solid company. Then the subs showed up.. they were going to install my roof under what code required, damaged my gutters and gutter guards. They ripped off my siding very carelessly, damaging all my windows, window wraps, light fixture's, leaving holes in my house, and leaving thousands of nails in my rocks and yard.. (I’m still finding them to this day) they ordered the wrong siding, and were planning on just putting it up anyways. I spoke at length with the owner and his manager to try to fix these issues and eventually removed them from my job. Owners words where “I don’t care, I don’t need your job, I have plenty of others”
Is highly recommended you do not let them touch your home after my experience with them! Even if they complete the job, I’m certain it will be done very half assed!

I had my roof installed in December 2023. Fast forward to July 2024, and while a contractor was up there installing shutters, we discovered some quality issues. It took Preferred two trips to fix it (photos attached for your viewing pleasure). Then, during the August storms, I woke up to a surprise indoor "drip drip" (leak). They promised to “make it right” and fix the ceiling damage. They came out and initially tried to blame my chimney (which had not caused issues before the roof was installed). After some pushback, they spent 1-2 hours fixing the roof. But when I followed up about the ceiling damage, I was ghosted.

This whole process was a customer service horror story. Multiple follow-ups were needed to get the initial job done (both siding and roof), and then the warranty claims were another saga.

If you’re looking to repair storm damage, proceed with caution. The person in the nice truck won’t be there to translate between you and the Spanish-speaking contractors. And no matter who you choose, make sure someone checks your roof for quality issues afterward.

Preferred was a great company to work with! They worked with our insurance company and made the whole process of replacing our roof and gutters easy. The contractors did a great job and cleaned everything up perfectly. We would use them again.

After sustaining major hail damage to our roof and vinyl siding, we hired a large local company (unnamed) to help us with our insurance claim. Much to our disappointment, the workmanship and communication with both crew and owners were absolutely horrific. Worst experience ever. After left with a half sided house (uneven), a crew who had damaged both our new roof/new siding; we fired the company and walked away. Thankfully we were able to find:

Preferred Contracting and Construction replaced my roof, and it looks fantastic! Their attention to detail and professionalism exceeded my expectations. I couldn't be happier with the results!

After a storm in 2021, this company knocked on our door and offered to see if we had damage and help submit a claim. We ultimately qualified for roof repairs, a garage door, and some siding and gutter replacement. We decided to pay extra to replace the rest of the siding, gutters, soffits and facia. The garage door installer came first and was fantastic.

The company did not warn us before delivering materials for the project. They just showed up about 2 months after we got the estimate and dumped the materials in our front yard. They wrecked some holiday decorations we had out there that we would have moved had we known they were coming. The roofers were extremely messy and we are still finding nails 2 years later. They also left garbage all over the yard rather than throwing it away (coffee cups, etc.). Additionally, the shingles do not lay flat at the edge of the roof.

The siding guys were awful. They left several areas of our house unfinished the water spigots on the outside of the house were unusable due to how they installed the siding. Also, they did it when it was incredibly cold outside so the metal edging was warped. We had a "punch list" a mile long that they needed to completed. We withheld final payment until they were done but they would call us and ask us to pay and we'd tell them they still hadn't completed the job. They'd send someone out, we'd show them what needed to be done, then the person would never come back. A few months later, they'd ask for payment and we'd repeat the process. It took nearly two years of back and forth with them before they finally finished the job. When they finally finished, they sent the invoice and I sent a check to the address on the invoice. They called a month or so later and asked where the check was. I told them I sent it to the address on the invoice and they said that wasn't the correct address. The check finally came back return to sender and they gave me the correct address, but it was one more ridiculous thing in the whole ridiculous process.

I DO NOT recommend using this company.

Contacted Preferred on recommendation of a nephew, who had worked for the company. Evan handled our insurance claim roof replacement. He was responsive, helpful and thorough. He advocated for us when the insurer did not initially want to pay for a new roof. He always came when he said he would and made the process as seamless as it could be.

The work was done quickly and professionally. The crew did a good job of cleanup.

We had significant damage to our siding and roof from a hail storm. Shortly after that, I reached out to the owners and they got the ball rolling. What impressed me right away was the communication. They always kept us in the loop and had given us a timeline. They went over options with us as far at gutters, siding and shingles.
I’m super indecisive and at the very last minute made a different choice on materials. I notified them on a Sunday and felt horrible but they were so great and changed the order and nothing was delayed.
We met with the owner and discussed our downspouts and asked if his team could change them. (We hired a different company years ago to install them and were not happy.)
They made the changes and I’m so happy; they look so much better and are placed in a much better location.
Throughout the process the communication stayed open and we always felt like we were in good hands.
The crews that came to do the work were great; they were efficient and made sure the debris was picked up.
I absolutely would recommend Preferred.

The customer service was amazing with dealing with my insurance company and keeping me up to date with what’s going on With my home. They use top notch materials on the roof, siding and gutters. The attention to details was spot on. I’m very happy with the outcome of my home. I would highly recommend this company to anyone and I’ll be using them again in the future.

The crew did a great job on the new roof. They were on time and very respectful of landscaping & personal property. Extremely good job with cleanup, as well. I am very pleased with the final result.

We did use them for a quote on our siding and they were on time, very professional and quick to respond when we had questions. All in all, great customer service. We would be working with them on our siding, however, we had other things come up that became priority. Highly recommend them though and look forward to working with them in the future once ready!

Jake and his team replaced the siding on my house after storm damage. Jake helped with handling the insurance company. His team did an amazing job even during cold Minnesota winter weather.
