Pratté Construction did two excellent projects on my home this year. We had our front porch, windows, and siding done. Along the way they identify several areas of water damage that needed repaired.

Overall, the process from getting estimates to the actual execution of the work was efficient and communication quick and clear.

The work quality has transformed our home and given me peace of mind for many years! When the next project comes along I will definitely be using their services!

Hired Pratte to remove a sunroom in poor condition and build a small mudroom. Doug did a great job and was done on schedule as promised! Very impressed to find a contractor that did what they said they would do on time. Great job, Pratte Construction!

I recently had a very large tree branch fall on my garage which was immediately a lot of stress due to insurance and logistics. Pratte construction was honestly the easiest and best part of the experience. They were incredibly professional, did exactly as they promised, and were always on time or even early for the job each day. I own a 100 year old house and have dealt with my fair share of contractors and the team at pratte hightened the bar by far! There were others that came in cheaper with quotes, but I realized that it’s not that others were truly “cheaper”, pratte was just more honest about the cost of the job from the beginning. I went with pratte based on reviews and past jobs and let me tell you that this team DOES NOT cut corners and they pay attention to detail. I have had contractors who did not do this and I will call pratte every time I need something done. In fact, they corrected a few sloppily done things for me while they were here and I wish I would have found them sooner. My garage looks amazing and it was all done quickly and professionally. 10/10 recommend!!

Nearly 3 weeks after my last project Pratte Construction was able to quickly remodel my shower/tub combo after unfortunately discovering a crack in the bathroom tub not long after closing on my new home. Pratte Construction recently completed our major house project. The main bedroom was gutted and a new bedroom was built. It was expanded to add room for a new closet, spacious laundry room with a sink, and a double vanity bathroom. They even found brick that closely matched the original of our ranch home that was built in 1956. Doug also oversaw an update to our electrical and hvac systems.
Doug is the kind of leader who inspires through his knowledge and experience in the construction business. He guides his team in the utmost confidence. He trusts them as family, as his crew and subcontractors are the same people who have been with him since he started his business as a young entrepreneur. After being left with only subfloors this team came in to level out and replace damaged subflooring and install my new LVP. They were on time, explained everything they were doing and completed the job on time as contracted. To top it off they exceeded my expectation with freshly painted base boards!

I am renovating my house and needed a window converted to a door, a door converted to a window and a window converted to a wall. Pratte Construction had those moved, the drywall and trim finished, and the siding restored during the hottest three days of this year. They were on time, professional and the job looks great! I would certainly contract with them again if I need some home remodeling done.

Hired Pratte Construction to fix and repaint our front porch ceiling. He was professional, responsive, and prompt. Provided reasonable estimates. In terms of quality, his crew person Pete did an amazing job blowtorching the old layers of paint off the porch ceiling and applying a fresh coat. Masons were slightly less neat in terms of their work neatness and cement cleanup over items below. Strangely there was a hole left in the wood trim (due to previous squirrel damage) because the crew painted over it instead of fixing it, but Doug came back out, created a solution, and fixed it within one day to my satisfaction.

I had interior water damage in my ceiling back in December that State Farm had been an issue to deal with. Doug and his crew were amazing to work with and did an awesome job and worked with my work hours. They were always on time and very professional. I would highly recommend them and I am so extremely happy I found them on Google.

Got stood up for a estimate and the person that I contact via email to set up the appointment did not seem very professional (misspellings and very blunt responses) I was very excited to work with this company considering the reviews but I guess it must have been an off interaction.

Pratte Construction came as a recommendation for our roof replacement. They offered quality service at what we felt was an excellent value for the money. They were prompt, courteous, and professional.

They replaced all of our windows and 6 sliders. They communicated as needed and were very efficient. My neighbor has now hired them for a complete exterior overhaul.

With research you can find construction teams that do a good job, but it is rare to find a company that does a GREAT job and in which you develop that relationship for years to come! As an individual that does a lot of home building work on my own, I am thrilled with the quality delivered by this team and their willingness to work within the designated parameters! They did the job and did it incredibly well! Our house was a large project, with gutting and framing almost 5000 sq feet, eliminating many load bearing walls by installing beams into the ceiling rafters ( my wife wanted the completed home to appear as seamless) and and then framing on two additions. It's very hard to find professional and timely construction crews nowadays, but this is 1 crew that I highly recommend! They converted a plain old office for me into a 5-star VIP type of room. Doug has great communication, top-tier work & design, and quick turnaround. Do yourself a favor and stop trying to save a couple bucks with all these other unprofessional hacks that are just going to stress you out. Pratte Constructions is awesome! They reframed the entire front of my house to repair and fix from moisture and termite damage. After a couple of weeks I watched them tear it down from top to bottom and put it back together was amazing and I also learned a lot. There was so much damage that needed fixed I just didn’t think my house would ever be right, until I went searching for a honest, dependable and reputable Contractor! And low and behold look who I found! The owner Doug and Jeremy were here the next day to look at the job and prepare an estimate and We agreed on the job!! By far it was Best decision I’ve ever made. Jimmy Johnson was the bomb! Very hard working man. The other workers followed his lead. Won and is helper had everything mudded in a day and 1 day for touching up. He is an amazing mud guy!! I had damage to an exterior wall due to water getting behind my siding. Doug and his crew were professional and efficient. The work was completed in a timely manner and they fixed the underlying problem so that I don’t have this problem again. I feel I received outstanding quality work for a reasonable price. Doug and his outstanding Team helped us out with an exterior wall repair. From start to finish, they were extremely responsive and professional. When I noticed our issue, will admit went into a bit of a panic mode. Tried to get some estimates, and had trouble getting folks to answer my call. Doug answered right away, gave me an appointment for an estimate, and was here when he said he would be. He came out and personally looked at the damaged wall, gave me a reasonable quote and an estimate for when they could start within 2-3 weeks. 2 weeks to the day, got the call and they were out the next day. Got us all fixed up in a timely manner with great results! Doug was there at the beginning and checking throughout the day, but I gotta say, his guys were great. Courteous, professional, and hardworking. Knew exactly what they needed to do, and before I knew it, they were finished. Peace of mind restored for this homeowner. We first called Doug to replace some windows in our living room that were leaking. Once he and his team came out and started work, he discovered that the job was far more than just replacing windows. We had extensive rot and termite damage all around the area of the windows (photo attached). Due to improper construction when the house was built in 2008, water had been flowing under the siding from the roof over the porch since the house was built. What was going to be a 4-day job stretched to about 4 weeks total, spread over a 3-month period. They had to pull virtually all the siding off one side of the house and replace much of the framing and sheathing. In addition, they had to take off some of the shingles from the roof over the porch to fix the design problem that was sending water under the siding in the first place.

Doug's crew was always punctual, professional, cleaned up after themselves, and explained the work to us all along the way. Doug was great to work with and did not hesitate to flex their schedule when he realized we had a greater problem than anticipated. We have already scheduled him to come back out to do some more work.

Doug's team did a great job on a list of structural repairs on our 130 year old home in Norfolk. The team was timely, considerate, helpful and cleaned up daily. They also didn't seem to mind the host of questions I peppered them with throughout the project. All in all a very positive experience!

Called them for an evaluation and estimate for a kitchen remodel. They canceled my initial appointment the day before- which they had scheduled for New Year’s Eve. I appreciated the communication so I was happy to reschedule. When the rescheduled day came no one showed up, no one called, no one picked up my phone calls or txt. I left a review indicating my experience then shortly after got a call back. Pratte came by that afternoon to evaluate. I was looking forward to working with this company due to the positive reviews online but was unfortunately disappointed. The company followed up the day after w a phone call asking if there’s anything to change my review. I expressed my grievances and agreed to modify my review due to their follow up.

I needed help with some water/termite damage, and had poor response from other contractors. Doug came out within 2 or 3 days, provided the written estimate I needed, and was able to start in under two weeks. His crew showed up on time and kept at it for 3 days until it was done, which I greatly appreciated.

Doug and his crew showed up on time, completed the job on time, and on budget. They completed a challenging removal of a load bearing wall and install of a 560 lb steal beam recessed in the ceiling. The job was done so well, I’ve engaged them to do some additional work for my renovation project. I would certainly recommend them to anyone looking for a fair price and dependable crew.

I had some water damage in the master bathroom that had been there for a while. I called on a Wednesday, they came out the next day to assess the repair. When they came to replaster it, took just a couple of hours. They took extra care to keep everything clean and even moped after. They let the ceiling dry for a couple of days before coming out to paint. They were extremely professional and finished early - exceeding my expectations. Even touching up my bathroom walls for me! It looks better than it did when I first bought the house in 2013. I highly recommend them for your home projects.

I feel utterly grateful for FINALLY finding a contractor that I will use both professionally and personally for life! I cannot express the relief that brings me. I have personally used 8 contractors for different projects and I am a real estate agent and have experienced dozens upon dozens of contractors. Most seem to have the same MO and it is exhausting and frustrating! Late or unresponsive, work is sub-par, rude or messy, dishonest or quotes aren't accurate at all to the final bill etc. NOT Pratte Construction!! From estimate, to execution I was thoroughly impressed. The crew is phenomenal, genuinely great guys! They were prompt at 8am EVERY morning, cleaned up after the day, listened to my needs, adjusted on the fly when needed and the quality of their work was exceptional! THANK YOU all for creating a stunning space my family will enjoy for years to come!

Had a failing piling on back deck. Estimate was thorough, work was prompt, cleaned up after themselves, asked for the railing to be adjusted (height difference) and they promptly got it fixed. Will be using them for any other needs - great service!

PRATTE CONSTRUCTION did 3 medium size projects on my house in Ocean View which is a house built in 1948.. so here we go:

1) Doug PRATTE does the quoting and is the project manager. He’s fully engaged the entire time with answering customers questions/ concerns and checking in on his crew (though they don’t need any supervision) multiple times a day.

2) PRATTE construction is fair with pricing, they’re a business, but I’d say a “local business” that’s all about the customer- they’re not going to “Nickel and Dime” you- they’re probably not the cheapest out there- but you gotta pay for quality.. and these guys are it.

3) the guys on the project have years on the job, they don’t cut corners, and they work the entire time they’re on the job. None of that “work for a couple days, off a couple days etc”... they’re in the job, work all day, and finish the job- not to mention on time.

4) they clean up after themselves and take the time to ensure they do the prep work and attention to detail for little disturbance to your everyday life. They also SEQUENCE work properly, which is rare to find in contractors these days

Overall, these guys are professionals and trustworthy people. They all do their job.

I’ll be using them again for other projects I got going on.

I highly recommend Pratte Construction. They recently replaced our front porch, repaired and wrapped rotting trim, replaced two doors, installed a new roof and repointed front steps. Doug responded quickly to my request for an estimate. (Unlike several other contractors I contacted) Once we accepted the estimate, work was scheduled quickly and completed on schedule. Communication was great and workers were professional. Pratte is a great company to work with.

These guys were great. Doug came by and gave me a quote, I gave them the go-ahead and they got me on their schedule. They removed a support wall for me and did a great job at a reasonable price. Pratte Construction is definitely a 5-star company! It’s refreshing to hire contractors who are dependable and honest, terrible that’s a rarity, but Pratte is the exception. We are very pleased with the service we received. Doug was out to give us an estimate four days after I called. Work started the following Monday. We had our front porch rebuilt, some termite damage repaired, new roof and gutters installed. Everything looks great and the price was great.

Just had joists sistered up underneath of our home from moisture damage.
Everyone from the estimator, to the installers, to the owner of the company were professional, competent, and trustworthy.

Pratte construction did an Amazing job completely changing the look of the outside of my house! They did it all- french doors leading out to a custom deck, siding, windows and front columns with railings.

We hired Pratte to come replace 2 exterior doors and some framing in our garage. From the moment we met with Doug we knew we had made the right decision. He provided a reasonable estimate and was clearly knowledgeable. He moved things around to fit our job into his schedule in a short time period. His crew showed up on time and was a pleasure to have working at our home. Doug did a final walk through with us to make sure we were satisfied with the work before accepting payment. I will be suggesting Pratte Construction to all my friends and using them again in the future.

They gave me a fair quote for some foundation repairs and new siding. They also returned to do some touch ups which is sometimes hard with contractors. I will hire them again and also recommend them. Thanks guys

My bathroom had an unidentified leak that was ruining the floor. Pratte Construction was able to identify and fix the leak, and install new flooring and trim that looked excellent. They were flexible in picking up a floor design that I requested at the last minute, and, though they accidentally broke my toilet during the job, they replaced it with a brand new one free of charge. Their quote was also fair to begin with, and they did the job quickly. No complaints at all, and I'll choose them again for my next job.

Came looked at the job. Didn't take a measurement. They were dismissive of the job and then left saying I am sure we ha.ca your info then never heard from them again. So I can't even tell you if they do a good job, but just seemed to be very unprofessional including smoking in my presence. And the fact that they didn't seem capable or interested in a simple addition does not bode well for them.

Called on Pratte again for more renovations. Everything done has added value and comfort to our busy household. Completely remodeled our main bathroom, ended up looking like the ones you see on HGTV! My new favorite room in the house. They also went in the kitchen and put new walls, door, and closed up a window.
We went with their suggestion of cabinet maker and the fit and finish is luxurious. Had issues, like all projects of this nature does, but were quickly addressed by Doug and Jeremy.
As a quick side project, they built barn doors for my attached car port and looks so well finished it looks like it came with the house. Well done guys!
Needless to say, we have more projects lined up for them and we look forward to see them again.

Doug and his crew did a great deal of work to my house. New roof and added a dormer, new siding, gutters, repaired 6 different ceilings where water had leaked, plus foundation and brick work. They did a great job at a very reasonable price. I would have given 5 stars but I did have to spend some time cleaning up after them.

On a positive note, Doug's baseboards and crown moulding were great. That was about it. He made a huge mess in my front yard and my living room, and left quite a bit of dangerous material in my living room. The transition he used between my dining room and kitchen is a trip hazard. My three year old was picking up shards of sharp metal for weeks after the project, and has tripped over the transition piece several times. We asked for help with wainscoting in our bathroom and provided the materials to do so. Instead, he decided to buy his own materials, and now we have a bathroom with mix-matched wainscoting. My husband and I have both attempted to contact him to have this fixed, but he has not returned our calls since my first attempt to reach him after the project. That first time I actually did speak with him, and he was incredibly defensive, blamed it on one of his helpers, and said he'd have someone else come look at it the following week, which he obviously did not. He also tried to tell me that maybe I could "just live with it," and explained that he did so many things to my house "for free." He changed some of his plans for my house without consulting myself or my husband, and did what he thought would work better at the time, hence he did it "for free." Absolutely will NOT do business with them again and caution anyone else in the community to find someone who is more professional, respectful of the wishes of the homeowner, and takes responsibility for his own work and that of his employees.

Doug and his team are "Outstanding Professionals" provide their service with care to their customers. I have searched for many contractors in this area that I could trust and rely upon, I wish I would have found this company earlier. Their prices are reasonable and they ensure the work they completed meets the customer expectations.

Where to start, where to start? Doug Pratte and his crew are awesome! I was the unfortunate owner of a home with absolutely no porch at all, which was a real pain when it rained (and my gutter liked to drain over the door, an added bonus). I had heard of Pratte Construction through a friend, and called them up for an estimate. Doug came right out the next day, surveyed the situation and came back with a great quote that was under what I expected to spend. They started within the week and worked diligently, getting it done in record time. They were a professional, friendly crew to have around and I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone looking for work done on their home.
