Jack has very responsive communications via phone/text/email. He comes to customer site very on time. He clealy explained to us what he found as problems on our roof, and fixed them without forcing a whole roof replacement. In the mean time, he also fixed small issues with the downspouts, etc. We enjoy working with Jack.

When we experienced an issue, Jack Polk was the first contractor to contact me and arrived our home in a short period of time. Jack inspected our roof and performed an evaluation and did a tune-up. We discussed the condition of the roof and it was decided that we would move forward with roof replacement.
Jack remained in touch throughout the process that included severe weather and wind that delayed our install. When our install was scheduled, the process was started with delivery of materials before the day of the install. On the day of the install, the roofers were at our home early in the morning. In no time, the roofers quickly and efficiently began the process of removing the old roof. Jack arrived shortly after the roofers and we discussed the process. During the process there were materials that were found to require replacement and Jack was onsite quickly with the materials. The install was flawless, the roofers were happy to answer questions and Jack remained onsite or quickly available via phone/text in the event that there was a question.
Once the roofers were finished, Jack was again onsite and we discussed the findings during the install and the remediation of the issues that were found. The gutter 'guys' were onsite shortly after the roof install and installed the gutter guards that we included in our install.

Jack was a great partner throughout the process. If there were any questions he was fast to respond with an answer. We were thoroughly pleased with the entire process from inspection and tuneup, through the install of the roofing and gutter guards. You will not be disappointed with the work that is done by Jack Polk and his contractors.

Contacted Jack for an estimate to replace some shingles on our roof. The price was fair and they had everything fixed in less than a week. Communication was great! A few weeks later we had some siding come off. I texted them a picture on Sunday and they were here Monday to take a look. Today is Tuesday and it’s fixed and looks great! 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for contracting work!

Polk contracting is an excellent company. These guys were the only ones who could find and repair a leak in the ceiling of my bay window. I had been dealing with the problem for a while and had several other companies try to diagnose and fix it without success. If I have any work in the future I will definitely call Polk Contracting.

Polk Contracting solved a 20 year problem we had with our roof that no other roofers could solve. The team was able to quickly fix our problem in about a week. All work was supervised and completed by the owners. I thought their pricing was more than fair; they were the lowest of all Harford County roofer quotes I received. In addition, there were no surprise charges at the end of the project. I can't tell you what a relief it is to take away the 'rain bucket' from our family room. I am beyond pleased and will recommend them to all my neighbors.

Polk Contracting really came through for us. We had a roof leak with water literally pouring down our wall. They came out quickly to assess the problem and fixed it immediately. No more waterfalls in our home! Great communication and pricing.

We just had 17 windows and 2 doors installed by Polk Contracting. First of all, the cost was better than anyone else in the area! That being said, not a single detail was compromised. I am honestly amazed at how smoothly everything went. From start to finish, we couldn't have asked for more. Jack was always on time, he explained all the nuances of our job patiently, and the crew was extremely fast (finished in 1 day), thorough and clean! The windows and doors look beautiful and we couldn't be happier! We will be using Polk Contracting for our siding and roof next year!

Requested an assessment for a roof leak. Voicemail response in 30 minutes, assessment the following day. Honest assessment that repair was unlikely to be successful, two repair attempts lasted six months.

Elected to replace the front slope. Completed in less than two days. At completion, cleanup was so thorough there was no evidence they were there at all.

Caesar and his team arrived promptly at 8am and the job was completed shortly before noon. Jack was on site to make sure all went well. The team was friendly, neat and cleaned up! Phil has done roof repair for us on two occasions and each time his diagnosis and repair have been spot on and far less expensive than the other contractors who looked at the job. I will be using Polk Contracting for other services in the future. They stand by their work and they aren't done until the job is done right. Plus they treat your house with respect.

Phil T. was excellent to deal with. He came out to perform an estimate for a roof repair and patched the damage temporarily to avoid further damage until the roof repair could be completed. He didn’t even charge me for the temporary fix. He climbed on the roof and took pictures and shared all of the details with me. Very honest, professional, courteous, and decent person. Polk was the only company willing to do a roof repair where all of the other companies only wanted to deal with me if there was a full roof replacement (which I didn’t require as my roof is only 7 years old). I highly recommend Polk Contracting and Phil Tyler! They did a great job!

Brian and Jack are an AWESOME team. I mostly dealt with Brian. He ACTUALLY went up on our roof, took measurements including sunroom and shed, emailed our proposal the same day and was very affordable. $2000 cheaper from our other quotes with the same product we wanted. We have the Timberline HD shingles installed. Due to weather, Brian came out on a separate day before the install date and patched up a couple of areas on our roof as thunderstorms were predicted at no extra charge. His crew was friendly and very through. They covered all areas with tarps, (grass and shrubs) moved patio furniture , and backed in a trailer on driveway for all debris. Excellent clean up! Brian was also on site off and on. ROOF IS BEAUTIFUL! SUCH PERFECTION! We are so thrilled and HIGHLY recommend Polk Contracting. Very easy to get a hold of, honest, and professional. We also had Brian take down our window shutters and reinstall them back on after painting them for an additional AFFORDABLE price! Thank You Brian, Jack, and Crew for an AMAZING Roof!! Very short turnaround: work bid, accepted completed in less than two weeks over Christmas-NewYear period. Gave me several quotes one to cover the immediate issue, others to various less urgent options. No pressure. Used high tech equipment to identify problem areas and measure. Competitive pricing. Came with tarps to cover garden. Thorough cleanup. Senior guy there almost the entire time. Came at crack of dawn. Owner also came by. The internet satellite dish had to be temporarily removed: they put it back and the Viasat technician who had to complete the re-alignment process said he had never seen a dish reinstalled by a roofing company that well ... it was even very nearly aligned. Pleasant people. Many thanks to Jack Polk, Brian Vickers and his crew. I could not possibly ask for more.

Contacted Polk about my roof leaking. The project manager arrived and found the problem. He explained how to fix the problem and did a very temporary fix. He asked me to call him in a day or two to make sure the leak had stopped and he would repair it then. When I called him two days later, he answered and asked if he could call me back in 5 minutes, that was five days ago, still no call back. I understand this is a small job compared to a complete roof replacement. If he didn't want to do the job then he should have been honest and told me so. To lead me to believe he would fix the problem and then just not call back is very disappointing. When and if the time to comes to install a new roof, Polk Contracting will not be a consideration.

On a scale of 1 -10 Polk gets a 12! Great customer service - Phil replied to my concerns promptly, finished the job in the time projected and helped me navigate the claims with my homeowner's insurance. His team does excellent work - you can't go wrong with Polk Contracting.

As a long-time Harford County resident and a homeowner for 22 years, I've had both the pleasure and the regret of dealing with many contractors. After a year long roof leak saga on our 35 year old house with two roofing contractors unable to find the source, I found Jack and gave him a try.

Jack was quick to identify the probable source and even offered to try his fix right there on the spot. I insisted on paying him thinking that when it leaked during the next rainstorm my conscience would be clear, but to my surprise the recent week of non stop rain proved he was right! Jack was friendly, honest and professional from the start!

Polk Contracting just finished my roof replacement after being damaged with the windstorm. Jack the owner, was always available from the very first time I contacted them. He assisted me with the insurance claim process and made sure that everything was accounted for. The roof replacement was completed ahead of schedule and the crew that came at home was very professional and worked very clean.
