It has been amazing to work with Penwin. I have contacted Penwin to do work on several projects for my home. Their staff are very courteous, knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend Penwin for services needed. I am truly pleased with their work!!

Great company, works with you. You pay for what you receive. These guys are professional, clean up after themselves, completed my project with upmost professionalism. Worth every penny.

The communication was key. Our window well and window had to be replaced because of flooding due to the terrible work of a previous contractor. Our new window is high quality and our window well has been repaired . The owner of the business was responsive to all my questions and present to oversee the project at every step of the installation.

I am extremely pleased with the value of and the craftsmanship provided by Penwin Roofing and Windows. Not only did they repair the initial damage to my roof they went beyond the agreed upon scope of work; they provided a complete inspection and repaired additional repairs at no cost as a courtesy.

Mr pennix has done mutiple projects for our family last being windows. Great pricing and the guys clean up well. My wife asked if I could have them back to just clean. (Smile) This is a Honest company with fast turn around and great prices!

Penwin has been very professional on several home construction and repairs done for me andy family at multiple locations. He only hires bonded skilled professionals and they have always been on time. Their quality of service is consistently high and I will continue to use them for other projects.

As of November 28, 2023 Pen Win has not refunded the monies he promised. When asked to provide documentation to prove me wrong he has also been unresponsive.
Please refrain from providing him or his company with your credit card information. He even threatened to take me to court and that hasn't happened either.

UPDATE

The response I've received from Horace is not the response I would have expected from a legitimate business owner. The response I expected would have been. "What did I do to expect such a response from a customer" instead he is replying negatively. Completely shocking to me.

I allowed Horace into my home and I believed, to my lack of knowledge on the process, to give this man monies upfront believing he was genuinely going to help me. I paid him in advance, which I found out later is not protocol. However, 2 hours later I told him I was seeking other estimates and to hold off until I chose a contractor. He was fine with this. Something so small has mushroomed into something catastrophic.

I am asking him via this review to post this so called contract, which never existed, to show the people considering using Pen Win, LLC the documentation. Again, less than 2 hours after I paid him I called him back to inform him that I was going to get other quotes and he told me he was fine with this, yet he still used the funds, for what I have yet to determine.

A honest business owner would have asked what can he do without all this confusion. This further verifies that this man is a true scam. Horace, if there was ever an agreement between you and I I'm requesting you post the contract on this website immediately with my full permission.

I'm attempting to post the work you said you started but at this time there is no way I can show the world what condition my home is still in. How dare you lie about the services you have performed. Instead you should be asking me how you could have resolved the situation instead of pretending to perform work which was never done and attempting to make me out to be a SCAM instead of the SCAM you are!!! I'm writing to inform others about the awful experience I had with Pen Win Windows, LLC. I had a project that needed immediate attention. I went on line and Pen Win was one of the first to respond. Horace came out and informed me the situation needed immediate action. He appeared to be professional so he convinced me to pay him, which I did. A few hours later after consulting with other contractors I discovered that he had really overpriced the project and I informed him of this and told him to hold off on using the funds until I was able to come to a conclusion on who would be doing the work.

Well he didn't honor this. I believe he was robbing Peter to pay Paul because after I told him I was getting other quotes he in fact spent the money. I contacted the institution who delivered the funds to file a dispute. Over the next few days he promised he would return the funds. He shows up at my residence in a panick telling me he needs to intercept a reimbursement check coming to my house. I knew nothing about this and even contacted the institution and they verified this is not protocol for returning funds. This didn't sound like something a professional business would do and I told him so. Anyway he intercepted the check and told me I owe him money.

I am bewildered as to how this man conducts himself. He shouldn't continue to get away with this so I'm letting anyone who may consider doing business with this scam artist to BEWARE. Pen Win is a SCAM

100% satisfied with my new roof. They gave a thorough presentation and it was done in a few days. Definitely will use them again when I'm ready to replace windows.

I've dealt with several contractors and home improvement companies over the years and this company went above and beyond to provide superior customer service and workmanship. Great prices, better products!

The initial experience with the salesman was good. He was knowledgeable, polite, and professional. The installation crew was great! They were fast, neat, polite, and professional. They even explained the process to my inquisitive daughter. From then on it went downhill. The date for install was never given, I had to call them multiple times to get them to schedule it. Then the screen that came with the door was broken. The installation crew apologized and immediately called the office to have them order a new one (score another point for the installation crew). That was over 2 months ago. I made calls to find out what was going on, but they ended in apologies and empty promises, I made texts and only got more empty promises. Nothing so far is getting them to actually install the screen. Maybe negative reviews will get them interested in giving us what we paid for.
- Update: After posting this negative review, we were told the replacement screen would be in by that weekend. It was not. So the following week I called and requested a refund for the screen door. I was told it would be put in the mail that day.. 1 week later I called them again and they said it would be put in the mail, along with a gift card. Finally, almost another week later, I have gotten the refund for the screen and a gift card for Panera. This entire thing started in the spring, and is finally done.
While I think it could have been a great experience, if they had followed through, I am saddened to see that it took a negative review to get their attention. However, as they did finally send my refund, I have upgraded the stars from a 1, to a 2 star rating.

On 4/14/2016 Darren came out to give me an estimate on a window I needed to have replaced. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. Since it was only one window he said that they could have the job completed in about 2 weeks. I gave him my deposit and he said someone would call me in a few days to come take the measurements. Well a few days turned into a week. I called the main line and spoke with Horace he apologized and stated someone would be contacting me soon. Another week goes by and still no one calls me. At this point the 2 week time frame that they stated they could have the work completed is no longer true so I call the main number back and ask to speak with someone. I leave a message for Horace to contact me but since I'd already decided to go with another company I decided to call Darren. I leave a message to call me back and within 10 minutes he calls me back. I told him that no one had contacted me and that I wanted to go with another company. He tells me that they were just about to have someone call me and come the next day to complete the measurements. Mind you it's after 5p so I highly doubt that this is true and I tell him so. He then begins to say that the issue is that they already ordered a window for me. How!? I tell him that makes no sense because they have not taken any measurements let alone contacted me. He tried to convince to stay with them and I told him that I would just prefer a refund. He then told me he would have Horace to contact me. The next day I'm expecting a call from Horace which never comes. So at this point I'm getting irritated. I call the main number again and leave another message stating that if I had not received a call on the next business day by 12p I would be contacting the BBB. This was on a Friday. On Sunday evening I receive a call from Darren stating that he spoke with Horace and I would be receiving a refund. I thanked him since he was the only person that had been professional from this company. I thought everything was finished and I would just wait for my refund in the mail I was promised the refund on 5/1 but apparently the check that was issued got lost in the mail. On5/29 Horace calls me apologize about all the issues I have been having. He actually hand delivers a check to my home and offered to do whatever he could to correct the problem. It took a while but my issue was resolved.
