They put in floors for me and i asked them to put the padding i had under the flooring and they told me you're not supposed to put padding under it and that it would nullify the warrantee - well the flooring has been buckling for years and i learned my lesson not to trust what they say since my family and i are left to live with the results

I was referred to Olde to Better by a family member who used their roofing services the latter part of 2018. I would recommend this black owned company any day. They're very professional, punctual, thorough and a friendly team! They offer financial services, to which I needed, as I wasn't prepared to address a double layered shingle roof only after living in my home one year. Due to their great customer service, I was in good hands. Good job!

Sadly this was not a very good experience. At first they seemed very professional and nice. During removal of the old shingles it began to rain. Workers did not have enough tarps to cover everything causing the attic insulation, upstairs bedrooms and hallway to sustaine extensive water damage. When Olde to better yet was approached about the damage the owner claimed that it did not even rain enough to cause the damage. Basically saying I was a liar. After a few minutes of arguing about the damage he then stated that we will just go to court. Trying not to escalate the situation a compromise was made that they would replace the damaged insulation and drywall and I would complete the rest myself. Sadly again they attempted to not replace everything agreed upon. It took them twice as long to do the work as promised and they would show up anywhere between 7 am and 1 pm without notice, always leaving us waiting or canceling plans. The attic was left without insulation for two weeks causing the hvac to run almost continuously to keep the temp comfortable. After all was said and done I paid the total amount that was originally quoted. There was no compensation even though we had gone through all that trouble. My family and I just wanted the drama over with. I corrected some of the shotty work they had done and finished it myself. If I was someone that had no experience with home construction I would have been taken advantage of.

I am very pleased with the recent work done on my house (roof, gutters & leaf guards, fascia replacement and pointing the chimney. They are a small, local company and were attentive to my special requests. The price was competitive and the work professionally done.

OLDE TO BETTER YET LLC, (owned by Mr. Gerold Washington) replaced the roof, gutters and downspouts on my home. The first thing I would say is that my entire experience with Gerold and his company was very professional. He was truthful and honest in our discussions and did everything he said he would do and adhered to his projected schedule. Not only was Gerold's cost estimate lower than the 6 other cost estimates I received for this insurance job (except the one submitted by a non-licensed contractor), Gerold agreed to do a few extra things, at no additional cost, that weren't covered by the insurance company. He also agreed to provide me with a roof upgrade to a better, higher wind resistant roof than the insurance company would pay for. Non of the other contractors were willing to do anything extra, at no additional cost. While I realize that contractors can't always do extras for no cost, as a homeowner, it was nice to meet one that was willing to work with me. As an engineer and program manager in my day job that oversees building construction and repair projects, I have interfaced with hundreds of building contractors and can say that Gerold exhibited a level of integrity, honesty and knowledge relative to his area of specialty, that is rare among his peers. As for my roof job, it has been several months since the work was done. Gerold did everything he committed to doing. The roof looks great, and has performed well through the rain, snow, and wind, with no leaks. In addition, I believe the roof upgrade has certainly added to the value of my home. While I could go on and on, I'll just say that I recommend OLDE TO BETTER YET, LLC to anyone that needs quality residential roof work done at a reasonable price. I rate my overall experience with this company at 5 Stars and can tell you, I almost never rate anyone or anything that high and rarely write reviews. In this case, it is well deserved.

They were professional and listened to what I wanted completed on the job. The price quoted was reasonable. The work performed included replacing columns in front of my home and to the roof. I will use Olde to Better Yet again for my next project and recommend to others.
