Paul Davis was excellent with the mitigation and repairs of our home after it flooded from a broken pipe. The quality of their work was awesome and all the staff super nice. I had a disappointing experience with this Paul Davis franchise. I’d give 0 stars if it were an option.

We had water damage in our playroom above the garage on May 17. Their Project Manager, Alex, and his team visited twice to assess. On May 29, I received a quote from Tom (Operations Manager/Estimator), but it only covered demolition — not restoration. I immediately followed up, and Tom replied the same day, saying “This is the estimate for demo only. I will get you a revised estimate to include the reconstruction portion as well.”

Despite multiple follow-ups (June 5, 10, and 17) and a call to Alex on June 14, I never received the updated quote. Today I escalated to Paul Davis Corporate, who got the owner of this Paul Davis franchise on the phone. He brought Tom onto a follow-up call, but Tom said nothing the entire time. Only at that point the owner says there’s a $250 deposit required to even receive a reconstruction quote — something never mentioned before — and seems made up on the spot, given we already received a quote for demo (w/o a deposit). Their strange deposit policy was never communicated to us during prior site visits, prior emails, or calls with Alex.

After a month of delays and no complete estimate, I decided to move on to another contractor. If they can’t even manage their business professionally and competently, how can I count on them to work on my house. If you need any work done, steer clear of Paul Davis Restorations, especially this franchise!

They were dependable, professional and pleasant. They were so friendly and helpful with this whole process and made me feel taken care of. If you have to deal with the pain of a water mitigation situation you want them taking care of you.

I can’t thank Paul Davis Restoration team enough for their outstanding work. Our basement was a complete flooded mess, and I had no idea where to start. Their team was professional, detailed, and incredibly efficient in their cleanup. They made sure everything was completely dry and took all the necessary steps to prevent any mold growth before they left.

They were recommended to me by my insurance company. It was slow going at first with both of us having scheduling conflicts but after they got started the project was done very quickly.
I was kept in the loop about changes, there was a little bit of a language barrier but that’s when my translation app came in handy.
They are very hard working usually showing up at 9a and not leaving until about 6p.
The work done was wonderful and overall I would use them again and recommend them.

2025: week of March 10th
I had a water issue that originated from the upstairs bathroom to the downstairs basement apartment. I contacted Neil Landes who was able to get a mitigation team to my home within an hour. I appreciated the expediting of getting someone to my home.

I had right foot surgery at UVA Medical Center on Monday. The water issue could not have happened at a worse time. I had limited liability - couldn't drive a car and had to use a scooter - had a tenant moving in within the next month, was trying to figure out the best way to get my recently 16-year young blind dog off of the concrete slab and into the grass, couldn't use either shower, toilet nor washing machine, had a handicap portable toilet delivered onto my carport and could only wash my hair and dishes in using a large bowl.

Aaron Richards was part of the mitigation team dispatched to my home. He constantly assured me everything was going to be okay. He kept me in the loop of each thing that was happening and of each thing that was going to happen during the process of them being in my home and coming back to my home. Since I couldn't go into my own basement to see the damage I asked him to take my phone and take pictures which he gladly did. He even helped me with a few things around the house (maybe 5 minutes tops) which saved me so much time from having to do those things on a scooter!

He was professional and showed he truly cared about me not only as a customer but as a person. It's difficult to find people like that anymore. He also made sure he called me way ahead of time to let me know when he was coming back to the house so I would have plenty of time to buzz around the house on my new set of shiny wheels to do whatever it was I needed to do before he arrived. A huge pet peeve of mine is when a representative from a business is late coming to my home; not Aaron. He was always punctual!

Kudos to Aaron who once again showed he truly cared not only about me as a customer but also as a person who needed help and some "Hey. It's going to be okay."

Aaron R was an amazing migration specialist. He was extremely knowledgeable about the entire process. His customer service was top notch! I highly recommend Paul Davis Restoration! We discovered a leak in our roof that quickly got worse. With a big snowstorm coming the next day, we needed someone to stop the leak as soon as possible. Aaron and his crew were at our house within a few hours of calling and thoroughly checked the house for signs of water. They immediately began removing water damaged parts and came up with a plan to dry out the space. They had fans and dehumidifiers set up the same day and came by every day to check on the progress of the water remediation. Aaron was excellent about communicating the plan for each day and patiently answered all of my questions since this was my first time dealing with a roof leaks. From the quick response to the frequent communication and professionalism of Aaron and his crew, Paul Davis Restoration quickly made a bad situation so much better. I can’t thank them enough for helping us.

Had water damage due to Hurricane Debbie. Alex was prompt in coming out, and very through, finding moisture in the walls where I didn’t think any was. When he a Brad came back out, they were always on time, polite and very professional. Did a great job cutting out the old drywall and carpet. Most impressive was there wasn’t a single bit of debris left, not even one speck of drywall dust. Follow up checking to ensure the moisture levels were down, and then equipment removal went very smooth. I would highly recommend Paul Davis, and especially Alex and Brad. Called (New Market location) on Aug 9th, spoke with a gentleman who took all my info down regarding my daughters ceiling fan leaking due to the heavy rains we had received over the last couple days. Called back on Aug 14th & spoke with Aaron, He came out that day and took a look, took picts of my daughters room & ceiling fan, gave me a general quote for insurance, then stated he would be back on Friday Aug 16th to take look at the roof for any damage. I received no call or text at all from him that day. Saturday, I texted him asking if I misunderstood him regarding the day, he responded, “I got tied up yesterday, I’ll be there Monday”. Needless to say Monday has now passed and a couple weeks ago and have heard nothing from him. I personally would not recommend this company just from this interaction, which is sad, as they came recommended to me.

Working with Aaron, at Paul Davis, through a particularly challenging situation gives me the opportunity to not only sincerely thank him for all he did to restore my home, but also to thank him for doing it in a timely manner once obstacles (not through Paul Davis) were overcome.

My basement got soaked in water after Hurricane Debby. Paul Davis was able to send Henry out on the same day when we were in dire need for help. Henry was super communicative. Subsequently, our case got assigned to Alex and his assistant. They were knowledgeable and professional. Although the floor felt dry after running the dehumidifier for days, Alex recommended removing the flooring in case water still got trapped underneath based on the humidity reading. So glad that I listened to his advice—the concrete underneath was indeed wet when they tore the floor up. They finished the demolition and sprayed anti microbial solution. Alex came back to check on the humidity reading two days later—there was still some spots not meeting the desired level so he left the equipment running for another day instead of rushing to retrieve their equipment. I am so thankful for their professionalism. Even my insurance adjuster thinks highly of Paul Davis as he worked with them in coordinating insurance payouts in several occasions. I highly recommend Paul Davis if you ever need water damage mitigation services.

I’ve used them before and I had a lot of problems with their project manager (New Market franchise). But recently I had a situation that required multiple levels of service, so I tried reaching out to them. They never even called me back. No matter, I found someone who did the work perfectly and a reasonable cost.

Alex and Serge were the best. The were professional , knowledgeable, and pleasant to work with. The kept me informed throughout the entire process. They even cleaned up all tge drywall that they took down. Best customer experience ever.

We had a bad water leak in our upstairs wall that went into our downstairs bathroom, hallway and livingroom. The crew from PDR was very professional and thorough! They explained everything they needed to do every step of the way. We felt so much better knowing they were handling our problem. We are really glad our insurance company sent them to take care if our needs.

Richard and Dillion was wonderful and made a bad situation better to cope with and got in and cleaned up the damage and saved a heirloom cabinet that was damaged . I highly recommend this company and their amazing employees that I have had the pleasure of meeting and dealing with.

Alex Woodward and Sergie Gentry were quick to start the water mitigation. They came in Monday evening around 6pm to get everything set up and was able to get the bathroom, bedroom with 2 closets, part of our living room, and crawl space dried up in less than 3 days. They did not sugar coat anything, which to me is the best way to talk to someone about the problems, but also put it in a way that did not male up panic about the situation either. While this was a frustrating process with bumps in the road, Eric the GM of this branch personally took time out of his day to make things right.

Emotions are heightened with losses such as what these guys deal with, giving time crunches, industry issues. Construction is a hard business with unpredictable circumstances, and these guys go into the most unpredictable situations.

This project at the end of the day is amazing, a basement I could never imagine would look “new” is once again new, and it’s the most bittersweet thing.

Service from Paul Davis Restorations was beyond belief extraordinary! From Alex and Henry’s arrival on a cold night to get 3 feet of water out of our basement through complete emptying of the basement and examination of all items removed, their employees went the extra mile to ensure a safe, successful job. Their patience as we went through items one by one was outstanding. Josh kept us moving at a great pace, and Henry and Alex were right there. Each made a stressful time and task easier and were incredibly gracious and courteous as they worked.

I would like to send a kudos to Neil Landes, Project Manager at Paul Davis in the Harrisonburg, Virginia area. I had a water issue in my basement two weeks ago. I contacted Paul Davis who connected me to Neil. He immediately went to work in dispatching someone to my house to look at the issue. Each step of the way he stayed in contact to help me through the process: what needed to be done at my home, insurance, etcetera. He also shared other services that could be provided which were valuable information for me.

He was professional yet personable as well. He made me feel at ease especially when something like this has never happened to me before! Neil has gone above and beyond expectations of customer service and communication and unfortunately that seems to be lacking anymore with many companies; however, he proved there are companies such as yours who truly care. They were phenomenal to work with and communicated with me every step of the way, keeping me informed of all things. Neil, who was my project manager for the restoration of my basement, was phenomenal!

He kept open communications with me, throughout the process, and was available for any questions I had. Him and his team were thorough and worked effectively, from beginning to end, and did not hesitate to take any corrective actions that were needed.

He went above and beyond and has checked in with me, on a couple of occasions, to ensure my complete satisfaction with the work that has been completed!

I would hire Paul Davis time and time again, for any mitigation and/or restoration work!

Communication was clear the whole way through and the work was fast and good. When I had concerns about whether insurance had overlooked something, they took special effort to double-check it and explain what I needed to know in a way that was clear and not patronizing. The work looks clean and new. The photo is not gonna do it much justice. I can't take good pictures to save my life.

Alex setup our appointment. On the visit he completed the overall assessment with pictures. Alex, Richard and Dan setup the equipment that was needed to complete the dry out. The team was quick and very neat in there work. All the team members were helpful and answered all our questions guiding us in the process.

I cant say enough good things about the water mitigation team with Paul Davis. They were at my house about 2 hrs after I called my insurance to help take care of water damage in my basement. Not to mention, the weather was absolutely terrible. I worked with Dan, Steve and Alex. All three were very proffesional, polite and a pleasure to work with. Alex answered all my questions and doubled checked every spot I asked him to look at for lingering moisture. Looking forward to working with Paul Davis' reconstruction team.

Richard came out after midnight on his own and took care of our basement flood. We had about 2 inches of water, and after vacuuming out water for 4 hours, I realized we needed professional help. Response time was about 2 hours, and he worked carefully (and quietly) through the night. By morning, all air blowers and dehumidifiers had been placed, all carpets were up and blowing, and he moved several pieces of heavy furniture on his own. He preserved our carpet, then had it cleaned for us too. 3 days later and we saved the carpets, all wood is dry, and we had no personal items damaged. Because of their quick work, we had the best possible outcome for a bad situation not covered by insurance. Grateful for their good work! (I’ll add, he was professional, thorough, and very quick to communicate on when he was coming by).

They did an excellent job! They were there the day that we had water damage (Dec. 30th). They were fast and efficient. I would very highly recommend them!
