The driver of a Pathway design van was so distracted by his iPhone that he almost veered into us on the highway we had to swerve so that he didn’t hit the entire right side of our car, endangering the lives of 6 girls let alone the lives of every other vehicle on the freeway. It was Mercedes Benz van with the license plate C58562L on I-5 around 3:40pm 6/19/2025, he then proceeded to continue using his phone down the road. Please do better in the future with your drivers, photo evidence can be provided.

We just completed a kitchen renovation with Pathway Design & Construction and had an excellent experience. Paul, Mike, Amanda, Kari, and Pathway’s team of fabulous carpenters were great to work with. They were super communicative, responsive, collaborative, and kept us informed every step of the way. They are genuinely kind people who care about their clients and the quality of the work was excellent. We love our new kitchen and would happily work with Pathway again.

Just wrapped up some home upgrades with the Pathway crew and am really happy with the work. I had some 1950's era T-111 siding that was failing replaced with LP Smart siding with a Diamond-Kote finish. The color matched almost perfect so in theory, I should never have to paint it. Structurally the house needed some sheathing, so once the old siding was down we added that too. I also had them repaint some exterior roof beams that had lead paint issues, they are pretty high off the ground and I just didn't want to deal with that myself. And finally Pathway upgraded the insulation in the house, blowing in a cellulose product to raise the insulation factor from almost nothing to R-22. Thanks Pathway, bring on that cold, wet winter. I think the house is ready.
Best,

Our search for a quality partner to remodel our home with universal design principles ended with Pathway Design & Construction. Our initial engagement with Paul to understand our project needs and what our budget could support allowed us to gain immediate confidence in Pathway. The design partner that Pathway engaged, C. Hoki Designs, is excellent. The care taken with our mother to understand her design needs to support ageing-in-place was evident in every discussion and recommendation.
One we moved into the build phase, Mike and Steven from the construction team met the same standard established by Paul, Carli, and Lars. The team exhibited professionalism and competence at every step and opportunity. In a project of our size, there are always complications. The Pathway team worked these issues with us to satisfaction in a timely and cost effective manner.
The finished product from Pathway exceeded our expectations. The engagement with the entire team was a pleasure. These are good people. I recommend the Pathway team without reservation.

When I think of Pathway - I think of quality. We worked with Pathway on three different phases of our complete home remodel (hired them 3 times). They consistently delivered quality work and stood behind the work and making sure that all issues were addressed. We were especially impressed with their ability to deliver solutions to the challenges associated with our 1935 home, including addressing structural issues such as placing a 20+ foot beam to support the ceiling of the great room without impacting the coved ceiling, determining how to build an elegant fence/moving gate which we get compliments on daily that also met the Seattle engineering requirements, and making sure that while we had the driveway ripped up we addressed all plumbing issues including sewer line issues and prepared for future electric cars with appropriate wiring to the shed.

I have nothing but superlatives for Pathway. My downtown Seattle high-rise condo was flooded, so I had damage repairs as well as custom upgrades to do. Pathway contributed marvelously to the design and specification portion of the project, as well as creating successful documents for my insurance company. Among many other great ideas from Pathway, they introduced me to a wide range of quality flooring alternatives, including a European import which was beautiful, 'green', and indestructible all at the same time! I was impressed with everyone I worked from Paul, the President of the company, to the subcontractors including electricians, fireplaces & HVAC, flooring specialists, and custom carpenters. It's hard to find excellent construction people who will come to downtown Seattle with the qualifications and licenses to work in high-rise condos. Mine is one of many excellent recommendations from Escala residents. I highly recommend them.

We had a great experience with Pathway. They diligently handled a major issue with us after a burst pipe flooded our basement. They put together a very thorough work estimate with lots of documentation which was a huge aid in dealing with our insurance.

After our house flooded and was destroyed from a burst pipe, Pathway was an indispensable partner in repairing and rebuilding our house - from assisting with insurance issues, coordinating countless subcontractors, providing expert advice and expertise, and above all top quality workmanship, they were there every step of the way. They were always extremely professional, personable, and transparent, and solved challenges with no drama. Highly recommended without reservation.

We had an amazing and hassle-free experience working with Pathway construction for a nine month project. The contractor, Mark, was very well experienced and thorough in his implementation. He handled ambiguity very well and kept great communication with all parties involved throughout the project and delivered high quality results. The company handled minor change requests holistically and we didn’t have any major complaints with them during the whole project. The architect who works with their company was thorough and knowledgeable. We did have issues with flooring as their vendor messed up installing LVP on cement floor and try to fix the original installation unsuccessfully. Pathway was eventually able to order whole new flooring material and get the vendor to reinstall the floors which delayed the project by three months due to holiday season falling in between this process. However we felt this was excusable considering the larger part of the project which they delivered with great quality and the professionalism they displayed on site on daily basis for many months.

Pathway turned our old unfinished craftsman basement into an ADU. We had no prior experience with home renovations. The process could not have been more smoother and transparent from the design phase and throughout the construction phase. They worked closely with our architect to find innovative design solutions that met our goals while staying within our budget. Everything was detailed out in the scope of work, so there were no major surprises. Our lead carpenter was amazing to work with and we have been extremely impressed with the quality of his work and the trade partners. He was exceptional in problem solving and paid great attention to every detail. We appreciated the high standards of health and safety protocols that were put in place (very important for us because of the old lead paint in the house and we have little kids and it was also during the pandemic). Throughtout the construction, they were very responsive and was easy to communicate with and helped to address any unexpected issues or questions promptly. We felt our project overall was handled with a lot of care and we highly recommend Pathway.

We had an excellent experience working with Pathway for our two-story addition in Mt. Baker. First of all, our house is BEAUTIFUL. We could not have asked for a better finished product. Everyone at Pathway was responsive, helpful, kind, and had amazing attention to detail. We would highly recommend this company for any project, large or small. Plus, they finished on-time and UNDER BUDGET. Basically a miracle.

The entire Pathways team exceeded our expectations at every turn. Not only were they easy and fun to work with; each member of the team knew their stuff, was prompt and courteous, and delivered high-quality products. Was our remodel more expensive than we thought it would be when it was just a dream? Sure. But the value of working with true professionals was worth every penny. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

We had an excellent experience with Pathway. They were professional, kept our home clean after they were done working for the day, and gave us the beautiful end result we were looking for. They turned our dark, old lawnmower-storage shed into our bright, clean master bathroom. We will recommend them to everyone!

Pathway was on time, on budget, and on schedule. They proactively helped us resolve all those difficult design decisions and helped us source the appropriate materials to meet our design, budget and eco-friendly aspirations. After hearing many horror stories our renovation was fast and relatively painless. We would strongly recommend them.

Pathway's level of care and communication exceeded our expectations. They maintained a clean job site and respectful schedule so we could live at home during a very extensive project, meeting with us every morning to check in and ask questions. We trusted them to make good recommendations on materials and methods, and when we wanted to do a part of the project ourselves, they left instructions and lent us tools. We were additionally impressed by the way they maintained relationships with our neighbors. When we wrapped up the project, they brought us a binder of all the related subcontractors, warranties, and contracts. We loved working with them and would highly recommend Pathway for any sized project.

After having several remodels on my home by a different contractor who retired, I gave Pathway Design & Construction a try when I needed my kitchen and deck remodeled. The overall experience with Pathway was outstanding. They were extremely receptive of my feedback and went out their way to resolve any issue that I brought to their attention. The quality of their work and craftsmanship was excellent. There was always good communication from the initial planning stages to the final project review. I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
