This company contacted my husband, who assumed that I had contacted them so he booked a time for quote with them. They must have gotten our info from when we briefly looked up companies on Angie’s list, because we later realized neither of us had reached out to them first.
My husband scheduled an appointment with them, since he was at home recovering from surgery and I was at work. On the day of the appointment, they called my husband and said both of us needed to be at the appointment for a quote, which was an immediate red flag. To me, it felt like the only reason someone would state that both people needed to be at the appointment was to try to use high pressure sale tactics to get someone to immediately sign/agree to a quote. I have no interest in making an important decision on the spot, and we also have plans for other quotes as well, as is the reasonable thing to do when requesting quotes for a house project.
I also did not take kindly to someone dictating to a customer who needed to be at the appointment, as technically the house is in my husband’s name anyway. We are adults, and I think we are capable of making a decision with one of us present as a representative relaying info later on, and we can call if we have additional questions. In addition, I want to see a written detailed quote before any agreement anyway.
I personally will not be doing business with them again, as that interaction was enough for me to not feel like I can trust the company.
