NSC Builders, LLC

We used NSC for a new roof and gutters got our house and garage. They were very nice and went above and beyond to make sure we got what we like. When I was not happy with the way some look, they were kind and patient with us and moved things around so placement of the vents were less noticeable. We love the look of everything and are looking forward to using NSC to paint the gutter when the weather is warmer. They have a great team at NSC and I would totally recommend them!!

As a building inspector, it was critical for me to select a contractor that would deliver an installation that would be at least compliant with minimum code requirements and that provided a quality product.

I ended up choosing NSC because their estimate (along with the report that was included) was very complete. On items that were vague or missing, they provided immediate clarification and they included my requests in the contract as well (e.g., daily documentation, cleaning, type of products being installed, etc.).

After signing the contractor and leading up to the start of the project, NSC was very much in communication with me and provided updates. Furthermore, Russ (NSC's owner) stopped by several times (at the beginning, during installation, and at completion of the project). This made it easy for me to express what things I wanted done to ensure my roof was installed in the best possible manner.

Since the City of Auburn did not require a permit, I personally climbed on the roof and walked it to ensure that the installation met the minimum code requirements. NSC installed new ice and water shield (which I verified with the pictures they provided), new flashing, drip edges, vent boots, and so on. Overall, I was very impressed with the installation and felt NSC did a great job.

While inspecting the roof, however, one ventilation boot was missed and since it was going to rain that day, it did not take long for Russ to send someone out that same night to ensure that the roof would be water proof. (The vent boot was installed the following day.)

I am very satisfied with the installation that NSC provided and with their service. Chris, Mica, Carlos, and Russ were great to work with.

I like them so much they did an awesome job on our roof project. Russ is great in communicating whats needed to get the job done. He knows the business well and he will not try to sell you anymore than what you sign for. Mika in the office was very nice and understanding to work with us in our tight budget. Really good experience overall... A friend suggested I call North Star when I needed a new roof done and right off the bat their owner Russ was great at commutating what exactly needed to be done and why (the "why" was really important to me as I have had construction companies try to sell me unneeded add ons in the past)

It's been a couple months since they finished the job and I have nothing but good things to say. They were quick to start the job (critical since I had a relatively small time frame to get it done) and did a really good and efficient job.

I am planning to use them again to get a new fence put up and would definitely recommend them to anyone that needs a job done

North Star Construction did an amazing job on our roof and gutters. The process was simple and the office and field team were professional and courteous. We're preparing our home for sale and will be looking to work with them in the future for any project they will help us with.

They did a fantastic job on our roof. Walked me through the process and cost was best of all the bids we got. They will be the first company I call on future projects!

We had a new roof put on, which included the installation of a new skylight. Micaela was our project manager and she did an amazing job communicating and handling all the details in such a friendly manner. The crew was also great. They did excellent work and took good care of our landscaping around the house in the process. We would recommend NSC to anyone!

Worked with Russ a few years ago when my mom needed her roof redone; she didn't choose him but he made a lasting impression that when my boss asked me to look for a roofer, Russ was the first one I thought of. Russ has a fantastic team, particularly Micaela who kept me up to date on everything including pics! The team at NSC have gone above & beyond dealing with the few issues that have popped up during construction and I will definitely shout (from my boss' rooftop) of their roofing-greatness!

North Star Construction are very professional. I was weighting which company should I choose and decided to choose NSC because they were professional from the beginning in communication and explained things clearly. They came to drop the roof samples at my house and finished the roof within two and a half days. Everybody at NSC was so nice, the best people I've known in doing business with.

The entire process was an incredibly positive experience. I received a higher bid from another company (which was going to replace them in a different way), and Russ was very transparent and explained every step of the installation process and the pros and cons of each approach. He also provided additional guarantees on the results they would provide me. Tony who installed our windows was phenomenal- kind, friendly, and incredibly clean! I would 100% recommend them to any family or friend!

What a great company to work with! There communication is top notch, there work was excellent, and the price was very fair. What I liked most about North Star was that I at first wanted a metal roof that would of cost more but, the owner Russ sent me an email and explained why that was not a good option for our roof. I emailed back and forth with Russ for several weeks and he answers all my questions. So glad we went with North Star Construction.

We had several bids for our roofing and gutter project and North Star Construction was competitive. We chose them because they did not require a deposit until the materials were delivered and the project was started. Other large roofing companies wanted 50% up front and were scheduled out for months. Russ's crew worked long days (well into dark) to get the project complete and everything was tidy at the end of the day. My only disappointment was the size of the truck they used for haul away - it was small and they had to take it frequently. But, to their credit, our home is much larger than homes they've done in the past, so maybe in time, as they get larger homes, they can invest in a big trash hauler! Our roof took a few days longer than some of the larger companies, because of the smaller crew. But I believe in supporting the small business owner, so we were patient. When a bad windstorm damaged our roof, I wasn't sure which roofing company would be best for the job. After getting varying estimates from a few different area businesses, I decided to go with North Star based on a friend's recommendation. I don't regret it at all.

Russ (the owner) was great to work with. His company was super busy this past summer, so scheduling the job took a while, but once we got our time slot booked everything went quickly. On Monday, Gilberto (the foreman) showed up bright and early. He and his crew removed the old roof and prepared everything for installation. At the end of each day, the yard was cleaned up and organized. We had our new roof (Pabco Premier Elite) fully done by Wednesday. It looks great!

I was really impressed with the level of service and communication from Russ, Gilberto, and Colleen (office manager). We're definitely going to use them for future remodeling projects.
