We had a few contractors providing us quotes and Nelson Exteriors wasn't the cheapest... but it was the one that provided the best value considering what they were giving us compared to others. It was a rather big job too - they aligned their schedule to ours, had great attention to detail and kept us informed along the way. Their QA process was top-notch, they actually re-did things that they didn't think were quite done to their standards. 100% recommended!

The Nelson Exteriors team did a great job on a section of our house! We needed to replace wood siding with Hardie Plank Lap Siding. The work was done in a timely manner and I was kept updated on the progress throughout the process. If I need to use Nelson Exteriors again, I would recommend them without any hesitance!

When it comes to spending what most people would consider a lot of money, customer service is what I look at the most. I will preface this review by saying the work that the installers did was good, they get 5 stars. However, when it comes to another company trying to save a buck at the expense of an unhappy client, I’ll say 4/5 is about all I can muster up. Long story short, the missing star came down to accountability. Some new cedar trim was installed on the interior of some windows, and somehow the staining of the new cedar was missing from the final contract after a discussion was had to try to match it as closely as possible with the existing cedar. Communication was made back and forth with the salesman regarding this, and the story is that the guy who did the final measurements recalls the conversation going in a different direction where I was ok with no stain at all on the new cedar. This simply was not the case, nor would I have ever agreed to this. At the end of the day, the install was good, but this situation is so typical of these window companies trying to nickel and dime you for everything they can. Would I recommend them based on the install? Yes. Do you need to be on top of absolutely everything they do with eagle eyes and not leave anything to the “professionals”? Absolutely! Take this as you will.

Enjoyed a very open, engaged and responsive relationship with Jake Mifsud, our salesperson, and Jeff Van Bever, our project manager. Their carpentry, painting and gutter crews were all top-notch. Our home was a big project and we had found Nelson as a result of their working on two other homes in our neighborhood. My wife and I highly recommend Nelson Exteriors!

We recently had Nelson Exteriors repaint the front of our house and were very pleased with the result, customer service and quality of the work. The crew was expertly supervised by Joshua who went out of his way to be sure to select the correct choice of color to exactly match the rest of the house. He realized the color we had chosen was slightly different from the shade we were trying to match and even bought a quart of the paint he thought was correct to try out to be sure. It was perfect and we were grateful for his expertise. The front of our house now looks like it did when it was new 22 yrs. ago.

Dear Reader, Our experience with Nelson Exteriors was outstanding. Their references were great, but it's really their commitment to exceptional service and execution of agreed upon plans that differentiates them from - quite frankly - all others. From the jump, Jake Mifsud, our sales contact, was courteous, on time, inquisitive about what was most important to us and worked through both scheduling and project budgeting in a very timely fashion. He's positive, responsive and followed up at the end of our remodeling to ensure we were satisfied!

Once contracted and turned over to the Nelson project team, Lindsey Trice coordinated our schedule and it was miraculous. One team would finish their work and 30 minutes later the next team showed up. Brilliant!

Jeff Van Bever was our project manager. Boy, is he thorough and committed to excellence. We knew we were in capable hands from our very first walk through with Jeff. Given his extensive experience in construction, Jeff spied issues he knew we would need to address citing most to least important along the way. This gave us opportunities to evaluate change orders and what we wanted to fix versus what we could live with. When making a change, Jeff ensured we had the change requirements and costs within 24 (or less) hours. We found change order prices to be very reasonable.

He lead a series of terrific teams beginning with construction. We replaced all of our front siding and most of our rear necessitating expert skills. Gustavo, "Cheppe" - aka Juan - and Josh were amazing. So fast and accurate, they completed their part of the renovations in what seemed like a moment. It's worth saying that they always cleaned up after themselves - a priority of ours given bad experiences with other companies.

Next up was the painting crew. 5 professionals led by Gonzalo painted the whole house and deck. We installed a new front door and both their exterior paint job and interior - like the rest of the house's painting - looked great. Really appreciated that they, like the construction team, were fast and efficient. When doing the final walk thru with Jeff and Gonzalo we only noted 5 spots that needed further attention. All were immediately done and the painting looks great.

The house's jewelry, also known as leaf guard gutters, were capably set in place by Oscar and Bartolo. Arriving at noon (following Gonzalo and team's departure at 11:30am), they set in place a whole wrap-around series of gutters (extensive work) by 7:30pm. I couldn't believe it, but they were done. Again Jeff checked in to make certain their work was completed as stated and that we were pleased. They're beautiful and lend a graceful finishing touch.

Nelson Exteriors works with like-minded companies to undertake certain tasks. In our instance, we worked directly with a company they referred - Window Traditions in Johns Creek. Clay Godfree, their sales manager, Chris, their project manager and their crew Mikaill and Welisson were as performance and customer service oriented as the team at Nelson. So glad to have that reference.

My only wish is that Nelson Exteriors did interiors. I'd hire them in a nano second!

My house had a lot of wood rot that needed replacement, ageing and leaking gutters, and it needed painting. I specifically looked for a company that specialized in each area so the project would flow properly and I would not be dealing with a couple different companies. I found exactly what I needed in Nelson Exteriors. Thank you to WSB Radio, and the Home Fix It Show, on Saturday mornings, where Scott Nelson is often a guest and how I learned enough about Nelson Exteriors to know it was the company for me.
The first day my project began, Jeff was at my house early and went over everything with me. He introduced me to the carpentry crew, marked all the known places that needed repair, and continued to check with the crew throughout the next few days and when additional rot was discovered. Additional repairs were never done without my approval and a work order change with cost details. The work was never slowed because of a work order change.
Jeff was at my house every day, sometimes 2-3 times each day of the project, to check in with me, review the crew's work, and answer any of my questions. Anytime I sent a text or left a phone message with Jeff I received a response quickly with the information I needed. I appreciated Jeff never acting rushed and always taking the time to explain construction terminology when I did not understand. Jeff was so nice and attentive to every detail of the project, and he really made me feel like I was a very important customer. From the first time we met, I instantly had confidence in him and never worried about how my project would turn out.

I highly recommend Nelson Exteriors. They were very professional and organized with our project, repairing rotten wood and staining our deck. Our experience with Nelson Exteriors has been fabulous from beginning to end. Great communication from the outset from the office staff, Lindsey Trice and Lisa Rainey. My initial contact, sales rep Ryan O'Connor, reached out to me on both Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, with information that I needed but could certainly have waited a few days - that blew me away! Project manager James Chappelle was also a great communicator and kept me informed every step of the way. If I wasn't able to reach any of these folks, and had to leave a message, I would always hear back from them quickly. I looked up Google reviews for exterior repairs. I was impressed with the happy customer reviews, but also looked at the one and two star reviews. I appreciated how Nelson Exteriors responded to the unhappy customers, explaining that the problems were not Nelson Exteriors' fault (weather related issues, or code violations), or that the negative reviewer wasn't even in their system. I also appreciated that Nelson Exteriors owned some of the negative issues, and asked the reviewer to contact them immediately, so they could fix the problem.

From my initial call to Nelson Exteriors, I could tell this was a quality contractor – and I was not disappointed throughout the entire project. My Sales Representative, Jake Mifsud, thoroughly reviewed the areas I pointed out and very accurately captured
everything that needed to be done before breaking it into separate projects/pricing if I wanted to stage the work. The assigned inside Project Manager, Lindsey Trice was
very good about keeping me updated on scheduling since one of my pieces was special ordered. I couldn’t have asked for a better Project Manager than Joshua McCormick who expertly managed both the roofing and carpentry teams to bring the projects in on
time and on budget - even with a required pivot for some rotten wood discovered that had to be replaced. The teams were skilled and there were enough workers on the job.
I never thought it could all be done in the 3 days promised – but there was no wasted time and the teams worked from dawn to dark and then cleaned up each night. The results are all that I had hoped for – and Nelson even worked with me on a payment plan that was great for me. I will definitely call them again for the next project.

Nelson Exteriors updated a wood deck that required replacement of rotted wood. I am delighted with the refreshed deck and composite decking that replaced the wood deck boards and railing. Thank you!

Horrible work. A year later and nobody has come out to follow up on problems despite many calls and promises. They cost way, way more than other quotes and left me with a yard full of demo debris, a door that doesn’t work, water coming into my basement, peeling paint on existing surfaces, paint overspray on sky lights, crooked downspouts, a window that won’t completely close, layered caulk smeared over the glazing on my wood windows, and siding and trim that looks crappy. I’ll try to return with a video of the problems.

Edit 3/10/25 - All of these issues were adamantly raised with the PM at time of work and I was assured they had been elevated. Regarding being too busy, I was told that Nelson's person is too busy to be scheduled and that I needed to be available when could swing by. He called several times asking if I could be there during the work day with just a few hours notice. Then he quit calling. I kept calling your office for months getting the same response that he was too busy to schedule ahead of time. You are correct that you finally showed up within a day of me posting here. I was told that almost everything in these pictures is normal. I have not yet heard what will be fixed or not. I'm only aware that you plan to fix the window that no longer closes all the way.

In preparation for our deck demo and new deck build, we secured four proposals, three of which were very competitive. We ultimately chose Nelson Exteriors for three reasons (discount for cash payment, no money due until job completion/successful walk-thru and finally, they offered the earliest job commencement date). Four individuals interfaced with us. Jeremiah (sales), Lyndsey (job coordinator), Tom (site engineering/permitting) and Jeff (job site manager). Each of these individuals did an excellent job, ensuring a very smooth process which ultimately resulted in a beautiful, well-built deck which was promptly approved by the county inspector. We were very pleased with the responsiveness of each of the above-mentioned representatives and would not hesitate to recommend Nelson Exteriors.

Avoid this company. Don’t be trapped by their term of “no deposit needed”. They know its quality is too low, and use that to lure customers. They repaired my deck took 7 months for a job required 6 weeks ! Forced me to pay in full while the job was not done & has too much defects of they declared “done”. I examined the work, found lost of defects , notify them & they refused to fix them while asking me to pay in full or they will put a lien on my home ! I’m not scared of that . The rails of the deck are shaking making us very unsecured & unsafe . The deck floors are loop down and too many things very bad !
My kid got her hand cut & bleed because of the rough bars that they were neglected to leave 5 of them on the hand rails. My wife almost felt down because of the looped floors that they were neglected left unfixed . Job quality is terrible!

Second time we have used Nelson - once for painting exterior of our home and the second time for building a deck. Fantastic company in every way!

When we were asking for estimates from multiple vendors, other vendors were unresponsive or late to respond. One vendor did not show for our scheduled estimate because of the rain and only communicated why days later. Jake and the Nelson team, on the other hand, showed up in the rain and asked questions to understand exactly what we wanted and needed with the exterior of our house. The Nelson team quoted under the other vendors, which made our decision very easy.

The work was done efficiently and with attention to detail. Our PM Josh was attentive and easy to communicate with. His dedication to excellent customer service, kindness, and overall understanding of what we wanted made it so easy to work with him. During the project, he was readily available for any questions we had, and reassured us that he and his team would be able to help with a few unexpected issues with our rotted cedar and rotted joists under our porch. Josh even helped with things outside of his scope of work that made our lives easier like when he helped me carry a large piece of scrap wood from a different project I was working on. As first time home buyers, having Josh and Jake available for any questions or concerns put us at ease and made us feel safe in our decision to take on this big project.

We feel incredibly grateful to have had great people to work with on our first big project with our house and we are going to recommend them to any friends/family looking for the same service.

If you want a quality product with good customer service, a gifted crew and integrity all around I would place Nelson Exteriors at the top of your considerations. From start to finish they were professional and responsive. My compliments to Jake who came by to discuss our deck project initially. While he remained in the background when construction began he continued to be available for questions. James and crew showed up as promised and crafted a beautiful deck to replace one 33 years old and way past its shelf life. James never failed to connect to me regarding any concerns all the way to a final walk about after the deck was complete. I appreciate Patty assisting with financing and walking me through any confusion. My wife and daughter both agree that this is really fine work by a dedicated crew. My one caveat? Beware of building in January! Rain and snow and cold delayed completion but the crew persevered and maintained the quality of their build. I also want to say that the final cost I agreed to was more than I originally projected to spend, but quality construction and materials are going to have a price. And I’m very happy with our deck!

Jake worked with me to price a few versions of the work I needed done so I could decide what best served my needs and budget. Lindsey's communication throughout the process was great. The work looks beautiful and even better than I expected. Will definitely use them again.

I appreciated various aspects about working with Nelson. Giving a 4 star because the interior caulk job on the new kitchen window was sloppy so made the final paint job look sloppy. Also some paint was dripped on our stucco when painting the outside window trim. These things weren't remedied.
The project manager Alexis was terrific. He stayed on the job and immediately took care of getting any additional supplies when needed. He was very professional and a great communicator. When some rot we hadnt expected was evident, he and I problem solved without delaying the work nor costing an outlandish amount.
My initial interaction with Nelson was with salesman Chris. He was very attentive to individual questions I had when trying to decide which company to hire. He came to house a couple times to go over my extra questions and concerns. I believe Chris and Alexis are knowledgeable and want to do a good job for the customer.
Scheduling the work was a bit unusual; sort of pending until only a couple days before. The office staff are very nice and courteous. They always responded quickly to my calls and called me back promptly when i needed further info. Overall, I was pleased, except the messy caulk job that annoys me regularly;. ( I pointed it out at the time but told it couldn't be corrected.) The paint splatter on stucco was visible the next day because the sun wasnt glaring on the surface. This was the morning after they moved out equipment.
In addition to some painting, I bought 2 new windows and a patio door and they are great and installed well. It seems the handle on my casement window is a bit awkward to.operate but I think it's the design of the product, not the quality of the product.
I think Nelson cares about customer service and have a team of really good and knowledgeable people.

Nelson Exteriors is very professional. We had a large project of painting, replacing siding, replacing windows, new gutters, and wood rot, and new roof. James did the project management and did a great job communicating the project and fixing even the little things that can happen on large projects. The crew were timely and I didnt have to micromanage them. They set our expectations on what they can and can't do on projects. The only thing we were disappointed were the Milgard windows which have a high performance low e coating which makes everything inside the room an ugly greenish tint and reflective like a mirror inside, but that is the window manufacturer and not Nelson. I would get a different window brand next time. Our other windows dont have this problem. But the replacement installation work was excellent by Nelson. Roof was replaced in 2 days. Sam was the project manager for the roof reviewed everything and helped me afterwards clean up the mess in the attic from the new roof. He has a good future with them. We would recommend them and use them again.

I would highly recommend this company to anyone. They did a wonderful job with my new deck, siding and windows. Jake in Sales, Jeff the Project Manager and the crews in construction and painting showed professionalism at all times. I really appreciated how they left the area clean each day. In addition, Lazaro the Project Managers' boss was fantastic! He made sure any issues were addressed and corrected. So glad I picked the right company.

Nelson Exteriors completed a major external home remodel for me in 2024. The project consisted of repairing/replacing all damaged wood, installing all new siding, painting, replacing exterior doors, installing new shutters, upgrading gutters and reconfiguring the wall out to my deck into a 10 foot sliding glass door. The project was several weeks worth of work. The Nelson team was here every day on time and eager to work. The assigned team members were consistent throughout the entire project and were high quality carpenters. They were considerate of my property and kept the work areas clean and safe at all times. I am highly satisfied with the quality of work Nelson Exteriors completed on my home.

Although everyone I encountered at Nelson was great, I need to specifically praise one individual member of the Nelson team. My project manager Joshua was amazing! Although assigned to other projects at the same time, he was always here when I needed him. I ask a lot of question and Joshua was patient and thorough when explaining the project details to me. He was very respectful of my home and my time. Joshua was an excellent communicator and kept me informed about the project status every day. Upon arrival each morning, he would check in with me to let me know what action was to be accomplished and at the end of the day, he would provide another update. By the end of the job, I considered Joshua a friend.

I really liked Nelson Exteriors. They were very professional throughout the process. My only complaint is that there seemed to be a lot of people involved in the process, especially when I mainly talked to Joshua and the workmen during the deck construction. They completed the repairs very quickly and efficiently. After the work was done, I noticed a few areas that needed additional attention, and they promptly and diligently took care of them. Very professionally managed project work for exterior painting. Was scheduled early and completed quickly. Quotes were in the same range as other estimates and ended up around 10% over. Any minor findings that were found during the work addressed quickly by the project manager.

Impressive company. Nelson Exteriors was one of four estimates we got and was the second lowest estimate for our 8 window project. Jake was the initial representative and was direct (not a lot of flowery praise for exceptional features, etc.), pleasant and knowledgeable. Jake was the main reason we went with Nelson rather than the low bidder. James was the project manager. He was also pleasant and knowledgeable … and very patient with questions and concerns. He worked with his crew to make sure the windows were centered and adjusted for the best fit and he was present for each important phase. His crew was also impressive. They were careful, neat, and did an impressive job of cleaning up when the project was completed. Oh, and their caulkers/painters are exceptional.

We used Nelson Exteriors to replace our siding, soffits, fascia and all the wood around our windows. From start to finish, the job went very well. The communication and professionalism was great from Jeremiah (sales/estimator), Lindsey (job coordinator) and especially Eric and Lazaro (project managers). The crews worked very hard, were polite and cleaned up after the job well. Some minor surprises were addressed promptly and clearly. The job lasted about a week and at or near the end of every day, progress and any issues were reviewed with us. We would recommend Nelson Exteriors without any reservations.

They presented us with a very detailed proposal explaining every nut, bolt and all products that would be used during the entire process of the project with pricing. Nelson Exteriors is so easy to work with that we will use them again for our house painting. The crew knew exactly what was to be done and kept us informed when items, not anticipated, were revealed. They worked steadily, meticulously on all work and stayed on the project until it was totally completed. Instead of replacing the wood we decided to use Trex for the entire project. This company was a pleasure to deal with, and the communication from the initial visit through the final touchups was good. I would’ve given them a higher rating, but I had to go back and fix numerous drip marks and somewhat poor quality caulking work to make the final job meet my high standards. Compared to other painting contractors I have used over the years, they are way above average, and I I would use them again!

I contacted Nelson Exteriors to provide a quote for siding replacement, carpentry repairs, finish work and painting. Chris Ray visited, thoroughly reviewed obvious problem areas, pointed several suspicious areas and provided a very impressive and well-thought-out proposal. Upon agreement, Chris sat down with us and laid-out the process which included a detailed checklist of demo, construction, finish and clean-up activities. I was soon contacted by Lindsey for scheduling. As scheduled, materials arrived and work crews immediately followed, led by Joshua McCormick, a very capable and talented Proj Mgr. The demo and construction crew worked expediently through 97-degree weather and completed their work ahead of schedule. After clean-up, the finishing crew arrived and commenced caulking, masking and prep work for two days prior to opening the first can of paint. The painters also worked through extreme heat yet were always very pleasant and courteous. Josh managed the entire process as well as handled various items personally. Also, Josh provided a keen eye for quality. There were a couple of things installed with which he was not satisfied and were subsequently removed and replaced. Again, the clean-up process was very thorough, and the finished work exceeds all expectations. All told, we are quite happy with the result and highly recommend Nelson Exteriors.

The salesman, Kevin Smith, came out on time, answered all of my questions, made some suggestions and was very knowledgeable about construction, building codes and permits.
