My Handyman of Dover, Portsmouth and Rochester

Giancarlo replaced the casters on our (very old) sliding glass door. He did great work, was very professional and timely, and I highly recommend him.

My experience with this company was not good at all. I hired them to do an install of an In-The-Wall AC unit. The man who came was not very professional, he rushed thru the job, he completed the work in less than one hour, total of 40 minutes at my home and charged me $350. Absolutely way overpriced. I will never recommend them or use them again.

Great experience. Extremely professional and courteous, kept me informed throughout the day on job progress and even made recommendations to small changes that would save money, while empowering me to make those informed decisions. Will be using agin!

This was the only handyman company to return and take my phone call. Justin is very professional and pleasant to work with. My Handyman will definitely be first on my list to call when I have a project.

Handyman has a very multi-talented team of professionals. They helped me out with a plumbing issue and water damage mitigation. I am already looking to work with them on other projects.

The technician fixed my double hung window lift and tilt mechanism. He knew all of the window parts, pieces, functionality and exactly how to fix it. He was very courteous and professional.

Justin was great to work with. He got everything done in ones days work. Will certainly have these guys back again. Thank you!!

Drew was very thorough. Updated 2 light fixtures and had him check on wiring as I have an older home. Also did a great job cleaning up

My father and I had a wooden ramp taken down and some repair work on our steps and rails. Andrew or Drew was the man who took great care of us. Very pleasant and did great work.

I wanted my cellar door changed so it would swing inward. The technician was on time and did an absolutely perfect job. I wanted this done for quite a while. I'm so glad I called My Handyman.

Gian was professional, tidy, courteous. My new ceiling light is absolutely stunning and his patience through the process was wonderful. I would highly recommend the service to anyone.

Up front I want to say that the repairman was a very nice guy and some of the work that he did was good. I was even willing to pay the very high cost of his visit.
But the not so good:
The handyman attempted to fix the leak in my bathroom sink drain piping but failed. It’s still leaking.
But what is a huge problem for me is that he trimmed the top edge of my bedroom door with the door in place in a fully furnished bedroom. The door now works but the entire bedroom was covered with a layer of sawdust. Everything was covered. My desk, computer, piles of freshly laundered clothes, the bed, my comforter, carpets, curtains and more all had to be cleaned or washed. I’ve spent hours so far cleaning the mess and I’ll be running the washing machine for hours more.
The company offered me $50 off on future work which is a joke. That is not even close to fair compensation for the huge mess and is an insult. There will not be any future work for me with this company.

Great job! On time and completed all my requests from hanging blinds and curtains, to shelves and framed prints and photos. I am happy with the results.

MyHandyman responded to my inquiry quickly and scheduled someone to complete the work within a few days. Justin's work was very good quality and he cleaned up thoroughly before he left. I would definitely call them again if I have a repair job.

I needed roof flashing reattached after it got blown off in a windstorm. My Handyman provided next day service. Norm and Justin got the job done in one morning, repair satisfactory with no further leaks. I also appreciated their follow-up check-in to ensure the job was done right and the repair was holding. I have used My Handyman several times for various household jobs and have always been please with their services. Jobs done right the first time for reasonable prices. Recommended.

Opaque pricing. Bad work quality. They offered to send someone else back, but we told them not to bother.

edit, in response to the owner's response: I sent the exact closet kit, as well as photos, so I'm not sure why there was such a big variance - and when I asked if it was a time thing or a difficulty thing, no clarification was provided. My bigger issue was the shoddy work...just awful. Maybe I should've specified that I wanted the drawers to be even and close, not be lopsided and grind against the closet.

My experience with this company was not positive and was very frustrating! I've gotten quotes from them a few times to clean our gutters, and I finally decided to try them. The initial quote I received was $350-450 and it was later changed to $400-500 to work around Christmas lights. I made it very clear that one particular area of our gutters was very tall and required a very tall ladder. When booking the appointment, the person said they would send two people to be sure they could do it. However, I guess their boss didn't believe me and looked at old pictures and decided one person could do it, so that is all they sent. Of course, he was wrong and the one person could not do it. Justin came and did as much as he could by himself, and he was very friendly. I paid $250, and he said they would return to finish the rest. However, this job was clearly not a priority for them, and it kept getting rescheduled. I kept having to follow up to see if they were going to come finish. Finally they found a day they could come, and they sent me a quote for an additional $668 the day before. That would have made the total $918 compared to the original $350-450! If I was going to pay that much, I would have paid a more reliable company who quoted me less than the $918. I canceled the work and started looking for someone else to finish the job. Terrible experience!!!

First time using a handyman service, will definitely keep this company in my “go to” list for house projects. Was given an 8-10 am window for arrival, Justin was here at 8. Originally called for weatherproofing exterior doors, but was able to add on a fill-in/patch exterior hole from an old pellet stove no longer in use, and hanging some heavy pics (I added on After Justin got here). Quality work, friendly and professional (both Justin and the folks I scheduled with at the office)!

Job is complete now.
Carpenter was very qualified and did good work .
Pricing is an issue.
Never sure what job will cost because there’s no quoting process This latest project cost me more than I wanted to spend.

Super well run. We had some work that needed to be done ASAP. The reception set a date for the same day. Jadyn came out looked at the problem gave me a quote and he was off to work. The work was done next day. Super pleased 100% would recommend.

I would not recommend them. No free estimates and totally too high. I couldn't afford it because he made sure i couldn't i feel.. He saw my home on the water and took advantage. I'm on social security and small amount of money coming in a month. That was not a large area to work on. $200 was taken out of my account just to stop and look. Was totally uninterested in helping me. NEVER AGAIN ! I ALWAYS PASS ON THE GOOD PLACES TO GO..

Had some siding on the second floor of my house start to come off due to snow/ice from the winter. Avery came out and took a look. He was polite and professional and got the job done pretty quickly. He explained what he did after and even took a couple of photos to show me his work which I really appreciated. Definitely will call them again for any other house maintenance I need done.

Handyman installed for us a staircase on our Deck. The team was supportive and patient during the permit process. Jason was our lead on the construction, he did a great job. He worked very detailed and communicated very well when we had some unexpected things come up. He wanted to make sure everything is right and I’m happy, I appreciate the flexibility and customer. Had heavy Murphy desk mounted on wall. Did a quick, thorough job. Looks great. Also setting up regular battery checks for fire alarms, which technician replaced today. Always impressed with Mr. Handyman. They get the job done for the quote given.

Friendly staff at the office to set up quote and appointment. Our technician was knowledgeable, efficient, clean and friendly also.

I had a thermostat installed and Norman came to do the job. He was so down to earth and friendly which I appreciate. We chatted some as he did the job. Very happy thanks.

I have hired My Handyman four times now. I just love them. They are polite and take pride in their work. Total cleanup when job is over. I will continue to hire them and you should too.

Just had the house gutters cleaned by a Mr. Handyman tech. He did a fantastic job - very quick and efficient. I’ll definitely be using them again next year (and for a bunch of other jobs around the house).

The guy came and assessed the skylight water seepage and quickly determined what needed to be done with the caulking. In a flash he was up on the roof and sealed everything with a generous amount. Courteous and respectful of all my concerns. Same guys put shelves in a closet several months ago. These guys are well recommended by me because they always do a great job.

Would like to send out a special thank you to the folks in charge at Handyman of Dover, and especially to our technician, Norman. This is a reputable company that stands by their word. You should contact them if you need anything done around the house. And ask for Norman. Norman is a true jack of all trades that has fixed many things in my house, from replacement siding on my house, to sump pump replacement, to gas stove ignitor replacement. Thank you! Easy setup for the job at hand, very professional staff to quote and schedule. 2 Plumbers no showed on me and then I tried My Handyman, They showed up when scheduled and got the job done as stated, Will def use these folks again, superb attentiion to detail .

Norman did a great job with what he did, which wasn't what i wanted to be accomplished, and the labor charge of $600.00 was a bit excessive for 2 hours along with a 4 foot piece of pressure treated lumber for over $100. Had I known what he was going to buy I would have had him use my PT lumber which I had more than an excess of

This is my first time using “My Handyman”
My request for an estimate was less than a week to setup an appointment for an estimate. The contractor was super friendly and knowledgeable! I’m was pleased with the estimate, looking forward to starting the project.

My Handyman was AMAZING!! Jason did a great job moving through some projects that I just didn't want to take the time to do, and I am so GRATEFUL for him. He was professional and did a super great job. I will definitely be calling My Handyman again!!!

I would not recommend this company. We had terrible customer service. We had a piece of flashing come off of our roof and sent pictures, the technician came out and gave us a quote for between $300 and $500. Then, after the repair was made, the technician told us it was going to be $1215. Never a comment about the change in rate or fee. When we disputed the amount with the company, they told us they would issue us a refund for the extra $715 but it has been almost 2 months and no refund.

Service was great. Right on time to start work. The completed work was perfect Norm explained each job in detail. I certainly will use HandyMan again.
