Muth & Company Roofing

Had a good experience with Muth for our re-roof. There were mostly highs and just a couple slight issues but not deal breakers.
While gathering quotes we thought we wouldn't go with the lowest as that is often not the greatest. Muth came in at the lowest of the five quotes. They offered an upgraded warranty and upgraded shingles to the highest rated GAF shingles. We had some issues with our decking and they gave us a quote for a complete re-deck. Even with the re-deck, they were still lower and had the best warranty and shingles offered.

We had a couple hiccups in scheduling due to weather, they can't control that, obviously! Once we beat the weather, they showed up and began work. Caleb, the foreman was great. He gave us the step-by-step process and kept us updated on any changes. He was in and out between other projects and ours. We had a couple minor issues with our soffits and chimneys. It's an old house so anything can happen. They worked through all the issues. We wanted to replace some of the old particle board patches in the soffit with tongue and groove. They were able to replace most of them but there were some areas that were missed. We also talked about addressing the longer nails that had come through the exposed soffit area. While it is better than what is was, we still have a decent amount of nails that made their way through. This will most likely be a problem when we have the house re-painted soon. We ended up having a total re-deck, which they laid new plywood over the existing decking. This was somewhat expected. The re-deck ended up stretching the project out another day. The crew worked to around 9:30pm....it was a long day for them. They were back bright and early and wrapped up the second day. Overnight, they left tarps on the ground with a ton of debris from the first day. Due to the heat, it killed most of the grass underneath. Also, the debris bags didn't do much for containing nails and trash as we found, and are still finding debris ( nails, screws, shingles, etc.) throughout our yards and both adjoining neighbors. They ran the magnets around our yard and the neighbors, but I think the haphazard removal may have flung them farther than expected.

I gave four stars simply because they were best price, best warranty, great sales person (James), and great foreman (Caleb).

The one star off is due to the debris issue and grass. Would it have been better with another company? Hard to say. This is the only total roofing project, and hopefully the last that, I get to experience. I think if I had to do it all over again I would still go with Muth but just stress a little more about the clean-up and mess prevention.

Muth completed replacement roof and new gutters in May 2025. We could not be happier with the experience or the result. First, I really like all of the people sent to our home. James Lee was the person who was sent to do an estimate and answer all of our questions. He was also our point person for dealing with our insurance company and all other issues. He is so fabulous to work with: knowledgable; not too pushy; responsive; great follow-through; courteous. Caleb Hrynkow was the project manager who could always be found on site anytime we had questions while the work was being done. We feel so lucky that we had such a nice, proactive, reactive and helpful PM. He was kind to us and to everyone working on the job. And the Muth workers on site are all just courteous, hard-working, and pleasant.

I wouldn't hesitate to give Muth the highest recommendation to friends or to strangers. It's a great company.

We experienced wind damage in the spring and had our insurance determine the damage. Once it was determined a full roof replacement was necessary, we called Muth to provide an estimate. James was out within hours and was very attentive & thorough. He walked through all the details on the process and even helped resolve issues we had with our insurance appraiser. Trey ran a spotless crew during install and went above and beyond with reinstalling items that had to be moved for installation. Jhordan was always available to discuss any additional issues we had during the duration of the project. 100% recommend Muth for your next roofing project.

A friend referred me to Muth Roofing and my insurance adjuster told me they were a good company. They came out and provided an estimate to replace my roof and to replace the old wood. They also replaced my gutter (the main reason I contacted the insurance company) and dry rotted wood. There crews were professional and courtesy. They cleaned up afterwards and also made sure my gate was closed so my dogs didn’t get loose. I highly recommend this awesome local company to replace or repair your roof!!

Muth Roofing came out and inspected our flat rubber roofs via drone and provided several options. This included a repair/maintenance option as well as rubber roof replacement. Other companies only provided replacement estimates. Muth’s estimate was far better than most the estimates obtained which included upgraded materials. The estimator’s explanation of their installation process was helpful.

We decided on rubber roof replacement as opposed to the maintenance option. Muth’s vetted subcontractors were excellent in the tear off and installation process. They cleaned up the old roofing material and blew off the driveway daily.

I recommend Muth Roofing based on dealing with other roofing contractors in comparison to Muth’s process both in my installation and others in the neighborhood.

When my last roof failed after only six yrs, with leaks in our bedroom, and the bargain shingles I’d used proved no bargain at all, I knew I needed the best roofing company and warranty I could find. I got four estimates from the highest rated local companies and chose Muth. What a great experience. From their detailed and reasonable estimate, with different options and solid emphasis on quality materials and ironclad warranty service, through the careful installation process, the excellent clean up and follow up efforts, Muth was first rate. It’s great to have peace of mind that my roof will look great and last.

I hired them to replace our old roof when we moved into our house. They did a great job, were easy to work with, and our roof still looks sharp six year later. During the process, they found a couple problems from when the house was built and corrected them. I have used them since then for their extended service plan, which is their name for an annual roof inspection and maintenance. Highly recommended.

These peeps showed up on the day they were scheduled and on time. They did the entire roof in one day and cleaned up our yard perfectly. They even replaced a plastic window well cover that I’m not sure they broke. I love how considerate they were of our time and letting us know when they were coming. The roof now has better ventilation thanks to Kelly noticing that when someone else blew insulation in the attic they covered up all the lower roof ventilation. Kelly had them install Intake Pro ventilation in the shingles to fix it.

100% excellent, start to finish. I hired Muth to replace my roof and to add insulation. They discovered some of the wood underlayment was rotted, so they replaced that, added insulation, updated the ventilation, and oh yeah replaced the whole dang roof. One neighbor who was walking past stopped to watch the rather enormous crew at work and he said, kind of amazed, "They're doing everything to code. Everything." They finished the entire job in one day. I was told this is the norm, but I was still impressed.

I was so impressed that when I decided to replace my siding, I hired Muth to do that too. Kelly Wingard was on top of every detail, was always thinking 5 steps ahead, and explained every part of the process to me. Another guy I asked to give me an estimate made an off-hand comment about the asphalt siding under the aluminum siding maybe possibly being asbestos. When I asked Kelly about that, he knew immediately whom to contact to get it tested to find out for sure. Result: not asbestos. But Kelly already had a plan in place in case it might have been. While a huge crew replaced the roof, only two guys replaced the siding: Jordan and his co-worker. It was an enormous job, tearing off the aluminum and then the asbestos siding, then adding insulation and house wrap, then the siding. They removed wasp's nests, replaced rotted wood, and on the windows, they replaced the roofing material that the previous owners had used instead of the proper window material. When one box of siding was a slightly different shade than what they had been using, they noticed, took off the pieces they had put up, and replaced it. The attention to detail was superior, start to finish. Other contractors who have since come to my house to work on other things have stood back in admiration and said, "They did a great job."

I could not be happier with the work Kelly Wengerd and his crew at Muth & Company did when replacing our roof around 3 years ago. We were in the midst of selling our house, and we knew the roof was a problem (plywood underneath was thinner than it should have been, the previous owner put shingles on top of the existing shingles, the roof was bowed-out in the back which Kelly's eagle eyes pointed out to us from the ground, etc), so we decided to pre-emptively put a new roof on to help sell the house. Kelly was a WONDERFUL sales person and his communication, advice, and knowledge were spot-on. One of Muth's crews were able to do the work in a single morning, which was amazing and convenient. We were also blown away with the look and the quality of the shingles. The price for the quality was really good

The best part was that after the work was done, Kelly told us not to sign the warranty for the roof immediately after. He told us that if we sold the house and closed within a certain amount of time, we could have the warranty be put in the new homeowner's name, which ended up being an additional added-value when selling our house. The new homeowner could then pass the roof warranty on one more time to the next homeowner beyond them, so this was a REALLY big deal that we were able to do this. We ended up selling the house in 5 days, $45K+ over asking price. A big part of that was the work from Muth & Co and the clutch warranty advice from Kelly. HIGHLY recommend this local family owned & operated company for their expertise, care, and quality, and will be using them again when the roof at our business goes caput... hopefully many years in the future. Muth did an awesome job. Of all the roofing companies that gave us an estimate, Kelly from Muth is the only one who identified a unique roofing ventilation problem which would have led to significant roof issues in a few years. Can’t thank him enough for helping get this unique job done right.

My wife & I are very pleased with the work. We live out of state and flew in specifically to help our daughter with this project. We had our daughter's home done with a new roof and gutters. We meet with James Lee, our roofing consultant, and felt comfortable with him and his company. He was also kind enough to do a "little extra" service not typically provided by the company to help us out since we live out of town. We would highly recommend!

Muth was a great company to work with. I personally worked with Kelly from the start to finish any questions or concerns I had were addressed. Kelly made sure everything was addressed on the contract and explained everything to us to a T. Trey was there quality control guy that made sure the crew was doing everything to their and our satisfaction. He came back out after the job to make sure the little things were taken care of. I would highly recommend them for a new roof! Very honest and very good prices!

Our old roof was installed by another company in 2012 and we had leak issues the last couple of years that they could not resolve. So, in October 2023, we hired Muth to replace our roof. Kelly worked with us through the whole process from initial estimate through completion. He was very thorough and walked us through the process and all the options. As with any major home project, there were a few snags along the way, but the key is that Muth worked with us to resolve things to our satisfaction. The roof looks great and we have had no problems since.

Regarding the demo, the crew took great care to protect my house and property while removing the old roof. They made sure all old materials went into the dumpster as soon they were removed from the house.
I was impressed with the install crew too: Right tool for the right job by using a crane to lift the new materials onto my roof VS running them all up manually. They were very efficient and worked in pairs as they put on the new roof. Job was completed in one long day which impressed me as i thought for sure it would take more than a day to complete.
The GAF Timberline UHDZ shingle with the extra shadow line is a huge improvement from my old shingle. Really makes my house pop. We love the improved curb appeal of our house with the new roof.
The crew made sure to clean up before the project was completed and Brian our project manager even did touch up painting for me. Hard to tell they were even here! Overall, clearly a 5 star performance!

In any trade work it’s inevitable you’ll have issues - no matter how much research you do in choosing a reputable company. What’s important, especially in roofing work, is how a company responds to those issues.

Years after the work had been completed Muth decided to take care of an issue at no cost to me but significant cost to them. They got this work on the schedule within a week. I was amazed not only of this but the work quality of their warranty work. Awesome company, wow!

Had to repair the roof on my detached garage. They finished the work in about 5 hours and were very professional about the work and cleaning up. I felt they communicated the price accurately and the work that needed to be completed.

From Kelly, Trey, Ryan and the lady who does scheduling, sorry do not remember her name, all were helpful and knowledgeable! Kelly helped us pick the right color and products for our home and we love it. They got the job done quick even though winter was trying to take over! All the men who came to our home were hard working, courteous and friendly! Great job from start to finish! We were always informed along the way and never left waiting. great clean up too! I was referred to Muth by a friend when we needed a new roof. Kelly Wengerd, the field representative, was very friendly and informative. The installers were efficient and there was a supervisor present both days of work. The clean-up was great. Kelly returned after the work was done to discuss the warranty and make sure that we were satisfied. A very good experience.

Kelly was great and explained everything to me. The workers were very polite and completed the job faster than I thought they would! I would hire them again!

Chris Schirtzinger was an incredibly committed and gracious account rep, helping us decide color and verify all aspects of the job. He did a great job. Muth completed our roof in May of 2022, no problems a year later. *Muth sent us a holiday card! Super Nice.

With the recent wind storm at the end of March this year, we had some shingles become loose as well as some that came off. I had a coworker refer my husband and I to Muth Roofing and I have to say, they were amazing! Everything from the customer service from the beginning, the battle with insurance (and I mean BATTLE), the professional installation of our home and garage roof, to the finalization of our invoice was great! My husband and I worked closely with Carl, our sales rep, and Chad, owner and president of the company, through the entire process. They fought tooth and nail with insurance to get our roofs covered. We will ALWAYS recommend this business for all roofing needs, 1000%!!! My husband and I will definitely be calling them soon for gutters, which should be less of a hassle since we won’t have to deal with insurance this time around ;)

I was so surprised at the amount of difficulty my attached neighbor and I had with this company. It really should not have been this complicated but our roof process was. Almost 1myear later, I am still finding nails, sharp pieces of metel and roof material. I so wish I had went with another company. I am still concerned about my gutters because, I sould not have an abundance of water overflow with them being new. The communication with Muth was terrible as well. I have learn a valuable lesson. All I can say is , we got a roof.

Muth did an excellent job on our full roof replacement, Kelly was so transparent, and educational through every part of the process. They coordinated with our insurance to make sure we were getting everything paid by insurance that we were entitled to per Ohio Code. We are so happy we chose to go with Muth for our roofing.

No one wants to have an issue with their roof, but if you do, you definitely want to have Muth be the company to fix it. They do great work and are very fairly priced. Each employee we have worked with, from Ashley in the office, to Tony and his fellow roofers who made the fix, were kind, responsive, and hard working. We will only ever call Muth for our roofing issues!

I had my roof done by Muth over 20 years ago. We had tornado force winds again recently and two or three shingles blew off on the side of the house open to wind. An inspector came quickly, worked efficiently and Ashley and Veronica in the office helped me out with scheduling and payment issues. (The date for replacement of the shingles on my steep roof was necessarily twice delayed due to rain and each time I was told well in advance--first that rain might, and then later would, require postponement.) The two men who replaced the shingles took time and care with replacing them and couldn't have been nicer and more considerate despite another rather wet day for roof climbing (it seemed to me). Thank you, Muth employees.

We needed some damaged shingles repaired, Muth was the only company I called who 1) didn’t make the process complicated and came straight out to help, 2) was on time and punctual and 3) after inspecting the work done, did it right. Which is very important for your roof.

These guys are the real deal. They replaced my entire roof and brought it up to code and it looks beautiful. The quote was pretty consistent with the other contractors I looked at. I think my interaction with their roof consultant Colin is what made me decide to go with Muth. He's a pro, knowledgable, and was in communication with me throughout the entire process. No surprises when the final bill came through.

I made contact with, and got quotes from, three other companies before I talked with Kelly at Muth and Company Roofing in Columbus OH. While talking at my house, I got the impression that he was not only interested in selling me a roof but also had my best interest in mind. No pressure, straight forward, and knowledgeable. And the quote was competitive. I decided to move forward after our meeting and had a new roof installed. The installation went great and when they left I could barely tell that they had been here! Highly recommended!

They were able to come the day after I had called them--excellent work; took photos of the repair. Very efficient and responsive.

All aspects of working with Muth Roofing were excellent. Ashley was very polite, Tony came out within a day and took pictures for insurance, and then Chris delivered the contract and handled every detail very professionally.

I even mistook pollen on one of the roof strips as if it wasn't fully painted, and Jeremy came out even after inspecting it earlier that week, and showed me it was dust. I felt awful, but this really shows you how Muth goes above and beyond. Even if you are considering another company...go with Muth.

This review is not for what this company did but what they did not do. I called Muth to schedule an estimate to replace my attic fan which had stopped working. When the technician came out he noticed that I had a newer roof and that my old vents were replaced with ridge venting at the peak of the roof.

The estimator said that the attic fan was not necessary since I had the new venting installed (by another company). As a matter of fact, the fan would possibly be detrimental to the overall cooling of the attic. My best bet was to just disconnect the power and call them in the future if it ever starts to leak.

Saved me a lot of money not getting an unnecessary repair. I am holding on to this phone number for future reference. This company earned my trust as a company that is focused on what the customer needs not what they can sell me. I appreciate that.

Not only did the estimator tell me about work I did not need but also suggested a trenching company to do some other work that I needed.

I don't know much about the quality of their work yet but this experience speaks volumes about their character. I will definitely consider them in the future if I have any other roofing needs.

I'm a veteran homeowner. I know the value of getting three estimates or quotes on any repair or maintenance job. This time I did not do that. Because of stellar recommendations I had for Muth, the Muth warranty policies, and the need to know that a roofing job is done exactly right, I got my quote from Muth and signed on the dotted line.
Now that the job is complete, I have absolutely no regrets. This company is not the least expensive, but roof repairs must be unquestionably reliable; for me, they need to be perfect, because an imperfect roof project can have disastrous consequences. This was the case with the flat front-porch roof that was original with my house -- within ten years, it failed leading to a disastrously expensive repair process. The job that Muth did on that roof is a thing of beauty that I think I'll be able to trust, without losing sleep over it, for decades to come. It's difficult to put a price on peace of mind, but I think I got my money's worth.

Muth & Company was great to work with. Kelly was really easy to communicate with and made sure that we were getting the best quality in materials and labor.They installed the latest and greatest of attic ventilation, which the national company we talked to did not offer. Overall we are very happy with the quality of work & end results.

I have had the best experience with Kelly Wengerd and Muth roofing. The entire process was seamless and well coordinated. Great communication with the entire team. The roofers themselves were respectful of the yard and cleaned up very well after. Everything was done professionally and the house looks fantastic. In addition, Trey who did all the follow up and quality control was diligent to walk through everything with me and close out the project. His onsite before, during and after the job was very professional.

The gutter job was a mess. The owner had to come out and you can tell he was saying what he had to to save face. After gutters were installed i had more leaks than before. They came out multiple times and it was annoying. I would not use them at all ever again they destroyed things and had to comeback to make repairs after the owner tried to strong talk me and it failed. What a joke. Lol your reply

We had a relatively minor job for Muth but they responded in a big way. We called several companies and they were demanding expensive minimums just to come to our home. Muth was 50% less and came out immediately. Carl was professional and prompt. The job was exactly what they promised. No up charge. This is the second time we’ve used Muth Roofing. I think I found a company for life !

We recently had our home's roof replaced because the company that did it 10 years ago did not complete the job properly. The Muth people were informative, punctual and the job was reasonably priced. They arrived on time, worked hard and cleaned up after the job was complete. The informed us what needed to be done and why. I would highly recommend them.
