This is the second roof replacement that Universal Builders has completed, and assisted with in getting the work approved through home insurance after a storm. Universal Builders did a fantastic job on our roof. We had received damage from a hail storm and they were able to work with my insurance company to get the claim covered! Having a company to help you through the claims process was a huge help. Everyone was easy to work with and very professional. Several months after our install we experienced a leak around our chimney. I contacted them and they had someone out the very next day to repair it. Excellent customer service! The experience with Universal Builders of America was superb all along the journey. From the initial knock on the door (which I am usually not receptive for), the rep there was very friendly, clear and had enough arguments for me to allow him to check on the roof. From there, the process was extremely smooth. They worked with me on selection on the roof and explaining what was important to choose. They also worked really great with my insurance to make the whole process very easy to navigate. Installation date was only a few weeks away and they completed the whole job in a single day. They followed up after the job was done and there hasn't been any issues. It was impressive and I am a happy costumer.

Above and beyond: From start to finish this company did an awesome job. We had trouble getting our insurance to approve our claim for storm damage and Emmanuel Jones took over dealing with our insurance adjuster from several phone calls to sending pictures and meeting adjuster. He got our claim approved. The crew at Universal Builders were all very nice and helpful and did a great job on our roof. Emanuel even followed up after to make sure we were happy and there were no issues. We even referred them to our mom and they replaced her roof.

Universal Builders installed an entire roof on FallsCreek Community Church approximately 5 years ago. Their work was warrented.
In March of 2024 we encountered a leak and contacted Universal Builders.
They responded immediately and the very next day their roofing repair men were on the job. From Columbus, OH. to Munroe Falls, OH.; Terrific response time and spared no expense in repairing our leak. Very professional and honest.

DO NOT HIRE- Company uses unlicensed subs, cuts corners, shingles over wood rot, does not follow installation guidelines for the products they use, will not answer or respond to calls or emails and will likely completely forget about your job after you pay. They will bill you and your insurance even after the job is finished and you have been final invoiced. They will supplement your insurance to fix their own mistakes. When you bring it up they ignore you and drag their feet hoping you give up. For me personally this led to over 7 thousand dollars in roof damage on a "brand new roof" as well as needing to replace windows and siding due to them dragging out patchwork repairs for almost 2 years. Almost $15,000 dollars later its a BIG NO FROM ME DAWG..

DO YOUR REASEARCH AND DO NOT GET HAD BY THIS DISHONEST COMPANY. They offered to waive my bill if I took down my reviews-however I think it is incredibly important to share this experience, so it doesn't happen to anyone else.

They are best in class. I was skeptical at first, since my first contact with them was while they were knocking door to door after a large hail storm that damaged hundreds of roofs in our area (north of Ann Arbor, MI). It sounded too good to be true (it was a homeowners insurance claim) but in the end, it exceeded my expectations.
The job (whole roof replacement and gutters) was done last fall, with great craftsmanship by the sub-contractors and easy communication with the folks at the site (Emmanuel and Luke) and with the office staff.

I contracted Universal Builders for both a new roof and new James Hardie siding. My home is large and has steep roof angles. This was a big and complicated set of projects. They did an amazing job with hard working crews and dedication to excellence. I would 100% endorse Universal for any projects on my home and I am completely satisfied with their workmanship and entire team.

I found this company, very professional, and the workers were extremely hard-working, and did excellent work. Not only did they finish the job in a timely manner, they cleaned up every little bit of debris that came from tearing apart, old siding, and putting up new siding. I am very pleased.

Emmanuel was amazing! Went above and beyond to make sure the siding of our home was repaired on time, correctly and even walked us through the insurance claim process!

Poor management and logistics. Incapable of ordering the proper material for a job or ordering anywhere near the correct amount! Waste a lot of time dealing with unnecessary returns, aka take offs, because they ordered the wrong items or ordered twice the amount they needed. That time could be better spent dealing with customers that actually know what they're doing and what material they need. If you don't know how to measure a house, either learn, find another area of business to work in, or waste someone else's time.

Meet with their representatives who were assisting neighbors with damage to their roofs due to unusual hail storm in our area. Based on the assistance and good results experienced by our neighbors, we had our roof checked and found it had also been damaged and qualified for claim coverage in our homeowner's insurance policy. We decided to have our roof replaced and are very pleased with the results. The project managers and all the representatives of Universal Builders of America which we dealt with were fair and very helpful re. this project. We recommend their services.

While I must say that I wish that the original work didn't need follow up, the response and the follow up work was very satisfactory. One big positive was communication. Whether it was to the office or my contact person, I always got a quick response. I feel like those people were working hard to make sure this company did not have any dissatisfied customers. If they could instill that mindset in all their installers, they'd have a ten star company, but I understand that they have too many crews for that to be feasible.
Bottom line is that I don't expect every job to be perfect, as long as I have a office perfectly willing to come back and make it as close as possible, so that I am happy.

We were super happy from the first contact. They returned calls the same day, the crew was on time. The men were professional and they cleaned up every night before they left.

This is a very friendly and professional company! Kevin came out to look at our issue, and went up on the roof(even with snowy weather),and found the problem right away. He worked to repair the issue, and then explained what he did to repair the caulking, and flashing, that was causing a leak into our bathroom ceiling. (The issue happened after a heavy snowfall. They’ve always been friendly and have always followed through with communication. Working with insurance can be a long process, but they walked me through each step. This amazing workers are so skilled and talented could not believe house roof and garage roof we're done in one day and it's absolutely beautiful

We had universal come out and do a roof, siding, and gutters after a bad hail storm. They left over twice the recommended over hang on the shingles which can result in wind damage. The drip edge they installed looks like absolute garbage. They are constantly calling and telling us that they want a progress payment when they won’t come address the poor craftsmanship that they gave us. Our shingles are sagging from the excessive over hang and they are trying to tell us that is the proper way to install them, even though on the Owens Corning website it says 1/4” to 3/4”. Clearly they don’t know that the extra inch they have on there can cause problems. If you have a problem with their work like we are hopefully you have better luck getting in contact with them.

All the people on the UB team from our sales rep Todd who guided the insurance claim process to our QC guy Kevin who managed the roof installation as well as Karen and Bobbie at the office were all fantastic to work with and did a great job

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! It was a horrible experience they had illegals working on my house they took 2 days longer than they said. They left a mess even after I told them housekeeping is very important to me. After the first day I was cleaning up my neighbors backyard and my own because garbage was all over. Then they caused 20,000$ in damage to my house. And it was almost impossible to get them to pay to fix it. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! Use a local company. It’s been 3years and I’m still having problems.

I was very happy with the help they gave me with the insurance company. I was also very satisfied with the work they did on the new roof and siding. The crew was polite, professional efficient. I was happy overall with the work.

We were working in our yard late in the afternoon when their representative asked if we would like them to check our roof for hail or wind damage. We agreed to this and showed us pictures of damage on the roof. I had to leave but they helped my wife to get claim started with our insurance. They were very helpful and were respectful of the Covid-19 exposure potential. Turned out the insurance company agreed and we now have a new roof. The crew came earlier than planned as the forecast called for rain. They stayed late removing the old roof and were back early the next day. Our roof was a challenging install, the crew was very good and the attention to get everything just right was refreshing.

We have recommended them to our friends and family. The process was straight forward and they kept us informed of their game plan, we couldn't be happier with the quality of their work and the coordination with our insurance.

I called to get an estimate and this company couldnt even do that. John (estimator) is a shady untruthful estimator who is not there to help people. He has now cost me getting my house fixed due to the time elapsed. No idea how this company has a bbb rating. They are horrible use with extreme caution.

We called them and they inspected the roof. The next step is the insurance company comes out . We gave Universal builders the time the insurance company would be there . Universal builders was a no show. They were suppose to give us an estimate and they never did. We call this bad business and thankful we probably dodged something bad .

Brandon and Dylan came for my first inspection and were awesome from then on. Every step after was well explained and if I had a question they were quick to answer. Plenty of communication from the office detailing the terms and materials. Jeff and his crew were great too. My house and shed were done in a day and the clean up was fantastic. They left my roof and yard as clean as it was when they showed up in the morning.

We had a recent home claim for hail damage and had Universal Builders out to do the work. They did the roof, siding, soft metals and gutters and all work was satisfactory. Chad Riggs made the claim process very easy for us and both he and Brittany in the office were so helpful and would get back to me right away on any of my concerns. We had water damage on our ceiling in our kitchen. I called Universal Builders to see if they could help us out. Within hours they came out to our house, inspected it, found the problem and fixed it. We received emails checking in with us when the install was going to take place and then after everything was completed to make sure we had no problems or concerns with anything. My husband and I were not aware how bad our roof was until he took the time to look at it for us. In a word-PERFECTION. I live in a 150 year-old home that we have painstakingly restored over the years. We started 11 years ago with a contractor-installed standing seam metal roof and replacement/relining the box gutters. Unfortunately, where the roof met the rubber membrane, and where they membrane met the drip edge, the original contractors used tube sealant. Over the years, water started infiltrating under the drip edge, and started to rot the trim molding. I called Universal Builders, and they sent someone out within a day to evaluate, take pictures, and provide a quote. The quote was reasonable-the materials they suggested were commercial grade. I agreed, they returned when they promised and did an A-MAZING job. Pure perfection. I would HIGHLY recommend this company. They do what they say, when they promise, and execute perfectly. I hope you have the same experience I did!

Very professional, responded quickly to all of my questions and concerns. Fought for me with my insurance company on getting things approved that needed to be repaired, I not only had a great contractor but an advocate for getting covered what should be due to the damage I suffered. The quality of the work was best in class! I even requested a final walkthrough to ask follow up questions when the work was completed, they came out, walk around and reviewed all the work completed to my satisfaction!
