Mr. Handyman of Grayslake and Glenview

Gordon was very personable and finished all the jobs in a timely manner and gave suggestions for a couple of items that were the best solution. I am very happy with the results. I would definitely recommend Gordon and Mr. Handyman to my friends and family.

Mr. Handyman, and specifically Devin, took complete care of repairing and replacing some damaged paneling. He was prompt, professional, and super efficient!

Mr Handyman was great, fix my outside light where the birds had damage the fixture.he did the job in no time. Very nice and respectful and the cost for the repairs was great.

Great experience with Mr. Handyman to install my storm door. Easy to arrange the appointment and Sebastian arrived on time and handled everything extremely professionally. He explained everything and made recommendations all along the way.

My family recently used Mr. Handyman to do some work on our dad's house. We were quoted one amount for the work that was requested. When we received the invoice the amount due was more than double, and the invoice was extremely unclear. We were also charged for work that we had not approved to be done. While they were there working we asked them to look at something that we might have wanted to have fixed. They did look at it, then did the work without giving us an estimate, and charged us for it. We have reached out to them to try to communicate about the invoice and get some clarity. Any attempts at communication have been ignored by them.

We did attempt to communicate by letter about a month ago. The letter was dropped off at your Grayslake location. My sister detailed our questions and concerns. Her contact information was included in the letter, but she has not heard from you.

Sebastian was very good at explaining what was to be done. He was neat and cleaned up area well. It was a shame that he did not have the necessary equipment to pull out the fence posts He had to rent a post puller. Not his fault. I would request him again if we needed any other work done

I called Mr. handyman for a last-minute job. Even though he was booked, he managed to make arrangements to have someone come out right away. Sebastian came out did an awesome job. Polite, professional, and a very hard worker.

Excellent service; honest and quick. The job, which was replacement screens for my patios and windows, was assessed, quoted, and executed in the manner in which was described upfront. I was very impressed.

Took a rather complicated job to replace some rotted rim joists from water damage and I’m pleased with the results

Daniel arrived at scheduled time, was professional, worked efficiently and checked other areas of gutters to complete the requested work. Very satisfied.

Devin was able to come out at the last minute and did a wonderful job. He replaced ceiling fans, light fixtures and a GFCI outlet. He was very professional and we would hire him again.

From the customer service to the technician, everything was wonderful. Devin was on time, friendly, efficient, and immediately cleaned up after himself. The job itself was a small one, but they still were willing to make it work. We appreciate their service and will definitely be using them for future projects. Highly recommend.

Chris did an amazing job! He did a bunch of work on the house our sinks, shower heads and fixed one of the closets. Definitely recommend him for work!

The guys at Mr. Handyman did a great job on my house today. They patched two woodpecker holes in the wood siding on my house, choosing a patch material that not only closely matched the painted wood color so that re-painting wasn't even necessary, but that also contained a repellent to prevent future animal damage. They also noticed that my gutters were full of leaves and twigs and asked if I was interested in having those cleaned out as well, at the same time. Since I was already planning to call Mr. Handyman again for that very purpose, I was thrilled that they could handle that job right then and there. So they tackled that gutter cleaning in short order, including asking me if I wanted them to trim some branches on a tree right next to the house and over-hanging the gutters, which I was happy to have them take care of as well. All in all, these guys did a terrific job with these issues on the outside of my house. They were fast, efficient, very competent and effective, and actually exceeded my expectations. They were also very professional, courteous and friendly. And the price was very reasonable. I'll continue to choose Mr. Handyman for all of our household handyman needs. And I highly recommend them.

They did a great job and it is great that they could do a variety of projects. They are quite responsive as well.

Hired for a few jobs, charged a hefty price and NONE of the items on the list were completed. I was worse off than before he came. Workman ship was lazy. (i.e painted over tape, got the wrong paint color, didn't paint over holes he patched.) Didn't hang a door that came off track.

Hire any other handyman service as no one wants to pay a huge price for services unfinished and incomplete.

Hired Mr. Handyman to redo a room which included removing a closet, adding an exterior door, building a small deck, and replacing the tile open the floor. Josh and the crew were super professional, friendly, responsive to my questions and changes along the way, and the room ended up looking great! I’d definitely hire them again when I have a need and recommend Josh from Mr. Handyman!

Replaced some water damaged flooring for me in my kitchen. Job was done in 3 hours, cost was under original quote and workmanship was excellent. Floor looks brand new. Installer couldn't have been nicer. I will call on Mr. Handyman for all my future needs. Perfect job.

I needed an exhaust fan replaced in my bathroom. I called a number of companies but was not happy with them so I tried Mr. Handyman of Grayslake. I told the person what I needed done and they estimated between $600-700 plus supplies, which seemed reasonable. The tech, Rick, did a good job, cleaned up at the end of the day and was polite and professional. However, when he presented the bill it was almost twice what the estimate was, which was a BIG surprise. If you decide to use this company I recommend you have someone come look at the job because the over the phone estimate is useless.

Joe did an excellent job helping with some minor electrical and kitchen sink repairs. He explained how he was going to complete the repair and did a great job! He also gave us an estimate of what it would cost to complete another project that we will do a little later this summer. Would highly recommend him!

Had interior window trim installed. Looks great! Joseph was very knowledgeable, on time, and a pleasure to work with. We have a long list of to-dos and will definitely reach out to them again!

The repairman, Patrick, called to say his earlier appointment had finished earlier and asked if it was okay to come earlier. Once he showed up he went straight to work on the list of items. He was very thorough and competent in varying services from screen door repair, to power washing, to installing some ply board on this be of my unfinished basement walls. I was so pleased I will be having him come back to move some lighting fixtures in my kitchen.

They removed a whole house fan from my old farm house. They were on time, fast and friendly. Price was about 30% more than estimated so a bit pricey. But the work was well done.

We have used these folks 3 times now for different projects. They were very professional, communicate with you, and were knowledgeable about roofing. The value for the work was fair. We will use again.

Rick was great!! He repaired 2 damaged screens and replaced a piece of siding that had blown off during a storm. So glad we called!

I worked with Josh he was very professional and knowledgeable. I am happy with the work done just thought it was a little pricey for the work that was done. Regardless I would definitely recommend mr handyman.

I had another company come out about a month ago for the same problem. Said the caulk would hold the trim in place. Friday the 17th the trim was hanging. Called Mr Handyman, someone came out that day but it was to windy. Patrick came out Monday and repaired it the correct way. It did not take him as long as he thought and adjusted the estimated price. I have other things that will need to get done and will call Mr. Handyman.

Been looking for a contractor or handyman for awhile… Came across Mr. Handyman and Theresa, receptionist was very helpful and polite. Let me ask as many questions as I needed. Joe, contractor, came on time and was able to repair and service repairs. Looking forward to providing him with my “Honey Do” list… shhh just don’t tell my wife. Thanks Mr. Handyman!!!

Patrick did an excellent job installing a French door, installing a basement door and extending an existing wall. Good job advising us on what doors to buy and the size.

Matthew did a dozen small projects for me.
Including Installing two ceiling fans. He Repaired a faucet, hung mirror & small cabinet, .
replaced a door knob among other things.
He did a great job with everything! He is professional, polite, efficient & very good with everything he does.
I cannot say enough good things about this man!

We have hired Mr. Handyman to cut some part of drywall in my house. The person who did the work, he did not do it correctly and I had to hire another electrician to finish the work, the wall he did cut was not at all acceptable. He quoted $400 but he charged $680 for taking little extra time, although he did not finish his work. Very much disappointed.

Mr. handyman sent out a Devin, who installed weather strips on my doors to prevent the cold weather from coming in. Devin was professional, friendly, and explained everything thoroughly. Devin does amazing work which always comes out perfect! I would highly recommend and use again when another project arises.

I have had them do numerous jobs for me small and large and I am extremely happy with there work.

My husband and I needed a shower fixture to be fixed in our master bathroom. I would have thought this would be easy fast fix. Apparently the handy person wasn’t very handy. Made two trips to the hardware store to pick up long screws well the handy man hacked off the head of the screw then placed it in the fixture and tried to put the knob of the shower fixture back on... I’m sorry how is that fixing the problem took two hours with zero result. Unbelievable and completely unacceptable. Will never use this service. If We hire a handy man again we will be doing our due diligence. Lucky we were not charged but still you wasted two hours of doing absolutely nothing and said our handle we had already had on the shower knob was obsolete.. you barely did anything! Don’t use this service. Obviously not qualified
