Mountain View Solar

I wanted to install solar on my home in West Virginia...researched the two major companies that do so and selected Mountain View Solar. Installed a 10kW system along with 2 Tesla Powerwall 3 batteries and an EV charger. System was recently commissioned and is working well. The initial survey went well, next step was the solar panel installation which requires a dry roof (rains a lot in the WV mountains), then the battery installation, then the new bi-directional electrical meter by the utility, and then the final commissioning. I suggest those interested in solar review the many YouTube videos on this subject to become well versed on the Tesla solar system. Hang- ups included the installers not having all the parts they needed (or were called away to another job, and once when they did not have a sufficient length of wire to finish). Had to remind them to come out and complete the install. But, all the workers were very professional, the install was very neat, and they were thorough in explaining how the system works. I am glad I am up and running.

Mountain View Solar has been extraordinary to deal with, since we started asking friends for recommendations. The office staff -- Danielle, Stacey and Kiki -- was friendly and helpful, getting us started quickly on the process of getting solar installed. Stuart was our technical engineer. He listened to our concerns, scheduled a walk-through with lightning speed, and explained everything in terms we could understand as lay people. Throughout the process, he was got back to us right away with answers to our questions. He clearly knows his stuff, and is great at dealing with the public in a friendly and professional manner.

Their mechanical and electrical crews made a great appearance. They were friendly, with professional, informative attitudes, their thoroughness and attention to detail, and the work ethic were paramount, while keeping good camaraderie amoungst themselves. Absolutely top-notch!

Christian and Trevor answered all our questions, kept us informed along the way, and let us know what to expect next. And at the end of the day, there was not even a scrap of wrapping to clean up; spotless work area. They and their crews went above and beyond for us. It's clear how MTVSolar has earned its reputation.

We're very happy with the installation process and with the functioning of our new system. We're joining the ranks of those who recommend Mountain View Solar without reservation and with enthusiasm.

We had MTV install our new solar panels and Tesla Powerwall system. We cannot say enough about for the professional team that helped us. Foremost on the team was Stuart who ALWAYS explained everything to us, ALWAYS got answers for us and ALWAYS responded as promised (even on Easter Day!). We came to rely exclusively on Stuart for getting answers to our questions and chasing the resolution of any of our concerns.

Not only Stuart was excellent (he became my consistent hero), all of our technicians were wonderful. Respectful of our property, always on time as promised and just a pleasure to work.

One word of caution, the Tesla Powerwalls were the only holdup in our project, but that was a delay in delivery from Tesla. MTV kept us apprised of their efforts to expedite delivery but, Tesla is Tesla and well worth the wait.

From first contact to powering up the system, every step of getting solar for our house was handled in a first-class manner. Everyone was professional, personable, effective, and efficient. Commitments made were promises kept.

We obtained estimates from several solar energy providers. We decided to go with Mountain View Solar because of its reputation in our area--several families and businesses we respect had their solar systems installed by them. The estimate was not the most expensive nor the least expensive. We particularly appreciate that they handle everything in-house, provide Pearl Certification, and help out obtaining 100-percent of our Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs).

Working with Mountain View Solar was a great experience. Mike, my project consultant worked with me through the many questions I had to make sure I felt comfortable with the whole process and to design a system I really wanted.

The internal team Kasey, Kiki, Stacy, etc kept me informed throughout the project timeline as well to make sure I knew what was going on every step of the way.

We have been very pleased with our solar project with Mountain View Solar; we're new to the technology, and everyone that we dealt with at MTV was knowledgeable, courteous and professional. I've been amazed at how involved the process of going solar has been, and MTV has supported us every step of the way, including around dealings with our county representatives and our power company. Mike Studholme, our project manager, did an excellent job with our proposal and monitoring the entire process, Kasey Yancey did a wonderful job of communicating with us about scheduling, and all of the folks who were onsite for panel installation and all of the extensive electrical work were totally professional and extremely courteous. So far, our system is performing exactly the way we were led to expect.

After our installer went out of business, and our inverter failed, I got nowhere with SolarEdge. We were truly orphaned. I contacted Mountain View randomly with very low expectations and within hours they had connected to our account in Solar Edge and a new inverter was on the way. They installed it within the week and we were back to producing for the first time in months.

I can’t express what a relief it was to finally get not just decent customer service but excellent service. To be treated like a human being. Shout out to Sarah and Jesse who made this process pain free.

Sigora installed for us. They went out of business and we had a problem. We went through a long process trying to find someone that was Tesla certified to come service our system. I knew I had found the right folks when someone answered the phone and listened to what we needed. Their technicians were friendly and knowledgeable. We are very happy with our service and would recommend them to anyone needing help with their solar!

I don’t know if they’re short-staffed, but we have regretted choosing MTV as our solar installer. It takes multiple attempts and reminders to get simple help from them. We are exploring moving our maintenance to a different solar service provider. Employees are nice when we are in touch, but lack of communication with customers is their weakest link.

Fiance purchased solar almost 2 years ago. Hasnt worked right since installation. Theyre master electrician even said the system is undersized. They didnt install anything to the one-line diagrams submitted to the permit office. They are now trying to charge her sevice fees, to come out and and perform the necessary work for the system to operate correctly.(which it wont, its undersized to specs that were accurately submitted.) So now after we last spoke with them, they wont return our calls or, simply what they were paid to do. 10/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!

We recently acquired solar panels through the purchase of a home and were left with minimal information. I was given Mountain View Solar's contact info after learning the prior servicer was closed for business. From the start they were nothing but wonderful to work with. I worked mainly with Sarah who answered all my questions and held my hand through the process of transitioning the panels to my name, servicing the system, and what next steps to take. I am looking forward to our next step of servicing the system so it is working and functional. Such an amazing company. Customer service is outstanding. We had them install solar three years ago and it was the best decision we have ever made. It's better for the planet, our loan payment is about the same as our previous electric bill. We'll own it outright pretty soon and the system should last us at least 25 years. It produces all of our electricity for our home as well as electric vehicle. We considered Tesla's solar roof but all the reviews are awful in regards to customer service. Go with your local company and you definitely won't regret it.

We had a great experience with mountain view solar. They were very helpful and informative from the beginning, to the end. The whole crew was great. I especially want to thank Danny and Sarah. Also a big thanks to the guy who came back to smooth out our driveway. Not only did he do a great job, but he used the excess dirt to smooth out our trail to our creek. Thank you all so much.

We had our solar system installed by Mountain View Solar in May of 2020. Mountain View Solar was very helpful in determining our energy needs for our farm. They were very courteous, friendly and punctual with our install. We were given some names for solar installation and chose two to look at. One salesperson wanted to close the deal and then work out the details but the MTV solar consultant came and listened and inspected and came back with more questions and worked out a fine plan for solar panels and battery that may have cost a little bit more but we felt was worth the professionalism and attention to detail. The installation was prompt and thorough and the electricians awesome, especially the customized book explaining everything that they left us.

Great experience! Mountain View Solar installed solar on the roof of a 200+ year old home located in Charles Town. They pulled the load in getting approvals and permits, which was not simple given that the home is in the town's historic district. They also worked hard in ensuring the appearance was spot-on. Great job to Danny Chiotos, who led the way.

MTV installed a 44 panel system on my roof. The experience has been positive throughout the entire process. The initial sales consult was informative and low pressure. The price quoted was fair and inline with my expectation. MTV took care of everything from design, permits, installation, inspections and post installation follow-up.
