Motor City Handyman is top notch. I have used them for big and small projects. Paul is honest and his work is top quality. There is no where else I look to when I need anything done on the exterior or interior of my property. I cannot speak highly enough of Paul and Motor City Handyman.

He is a garbage contractor. Very unprofessional. He was paid in full and never completed the work he had been paid to do. When I tried to contact him about finishing the work, he wouldn't answer his phone. Here's a text I received from one of my tenants explaining her experience dealing with him. Her words not mine.

"Hello, this is T at , Apt 2. I need to update you on the repairs done here, or the lack of repairs. Paul the handyman came here on Thursday May 9 and all he did was take off the old door from upstairs here, then told me he would be back with the new door. He did not come back, leaving me with absolutely no door here. For me that is definitely a safety issue, a blind person with no door up here. Friday the 10 he finally made it here, brought a door with no hole in it for a deadbolt, just a handle lock. He actually did complete putting up the handrail at the bottom of my stairs, then left again saying he would be back to drill the hole into the door for the deadbolt. That was the last I heard from him. He never returned even to give me the key to the new door handle lock, so if I leave my apartment I cannot lock the door without having the key. I had plans to go out Sunday, but cannot go anywhere since I cannot lock this door. Paul is quite unprofessional and once he leaves, never returns. Now I have to sit here until he comes back to give me the key to my door. I have a problem with him doing half jobs and just walking off. I feel that I am paying a high enough rent amount that an actual reputable contractor should have been hired to do these repairs, and I believe they would all have been completed before any extensions were given. To summarize what Paul has actually done here is: put batteries in 2 of the smoke detectors, removed the previous door up here, left me with no door at all from Thursday until he decided to show up here on Friday afternoon, installed a door with nothing except a door handle lock, put up a handrail at the bottom of the stairs, and left me here unable to lock the new door because he never gave me a key. I hope that you find someone to finish these repairs that is professional and reputable. If you do find someone who will actually do some work, I will definitely be home to let them in since I cannot leave my apartment without leaving the door unlocked. Thank you"

Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time or money dealing with this guy

Paul communicates really well both about the work that needs to be done, what they did, and cost. Was quoted a certain price for the plumbing portion of the job. Paul did the whole job plumbing, replace the flooring, tile etc.. for less than double the quote I received for just the plumbing. Absolutely will be calling back for all maintenance needs.

Paul restored our 150 year old Sanilac County Museum wooden doors and did a stunning job! It was obviously a labor of love for him. Stop in to see how lovely they now look!

Paul built a custom, built in window bench seat in our kitchen’s breakfast nook and did an awesome job. My wife and I were amazed at how great it turned out. His prices were fair and he has many years of experience in custom woodworking. He did such a good job on the bench seat that we had him do another job for us- removing the glass from 2 French doors in our house and making them solid wood (prior office turned into bedroom), again an outstanding job. Would recommend paul to anyone looking for any type of custom woodworking/finishing. I will post pictures of the work in the photos section of his google business page.

Paul custom made our entertainment center and two end tables. He does very great craftsmenship and I would highly recommend him.

Paul did a great job restoring my window casings in a house that is 100 years old I would recommend him to anyone that wants great attention to detail.
