Our experience with Monsoon Roofing and Melvin was exceptional. Their quote was fair and their work was thorough. Their attention to detail was impressive. We enjoyed working with them greatly.

The roof on my house was the original roof and was nearing 30 years old. It was badly dry-rotten, and several tiles had fallen. It was so bad you could see through the roof at the corner of the garage- and I knew it was going to be a big job.
I reached out to the community on NextDoor, and I was given multiple recommendations for companies to consider.
After 3 quotes I quickly decided on Monsoon Roofing. It was a wonderful experience and I am so thankful to have worked with such a great company.
Melvin is absolutely amazing, he was polite and professional to work with. He was my direct and only contact from start to finish. He came out and spoke with me, providing a fair and reasonable quote for the work. Upon accepting the quote, he quickly got me scheduled and worked with me to prepare.
He was on-site everyday, checking in with me and asking if I had any questions or concerns, and inspected the house with me to make sure I was 100% happy upon completion.

Monsoon was able to do everything needed and the attention to detail was impressive. I never felt like the crew was rushing and I appreciated how much they cleaned up at the end of each day. I’m so incredibly impressed with Monsoon Roofing. When I had reached out for a quote in 2023, the owner Melvin came out to our home and thoroughly inspected our roof. He gave us an honest impression of the state of our underlayment, broken tiles, and an estimate. We waited a year to start the project, and when I had called Melvin to initiate the underlayment replacement he had a full recollection of our home and even small conversations we had the year before.

The crew showed up early Monday morning and knocked it out by early Thursday. Every day the crew arrived early and at the end of the day thoroughly cleaned both front and back yards. Melvin had checked in with daily pictures, status, and always was open for any questions. When the roof was completed, Melvin took the time to walk through all the details, replaced tiles, and any additional repairs made.

• The integrity and quality of work provided by the owner and his crew was outstanding. The intimate knowledge and attention to detail was above any standard roofing project.

• We live in a planned community that has strict CC&Rs that require homeowners to have specified paint colors consistent throughout the exterior of the home. Without our request, Monsoon included the repaint of anything altered in the job without extra charge. Of the 3 other proposals we received, the other companies proposals specified this is not included.

• Our home’s roof was completely deteriorating based on the limited materials used in the initial construction of the home 23 years ago. Monsoon replaced all outdated and/or dilapidated materials while at the same time they installed more efficient and updated materials relavant to our Arizona climate and home design.

I highly recommend Monsoon Roofing. They just replaced our roof following a storm that caused a lot of damage. We had to have our roof underlayment re-done due to age and they found there was a lot of water damage so had to have some of the wood replaced also. When I called to get a quote to repair some water damage, Melvin got on the roof to inspect it, and very kindly (no pressure what so ever) explained that my roof was the original roof of now 28 years and that other areas had rotten wood and no proper drainage system setup.

He explained visually why the damage had happened and what they would do to fix that issue otherwise, replacing only the rotten wood would only work for short time as the rain would once again ruin it. I trusted his judgement because he spoke to me like a friend trying to do what was best for me and not to get more money. Where other companies added more expenses to the overall job, Melvin advised I did not need any of them and recommended to do only what was absolutely needed.

House just hit 20 years and we needed a new roof. I collected 6-7 estimates, one as high as 23K from other companies! Eric with Monsoon was very personable and walked me around the house to point out areas that needed to be repaired and walked me through the process for a roof repair. His team was on time and took nearly 5 days to complete the roof; to me that says they took their time and did the roof right. I'm not a micromanager but I did sneak a peak every so often and saw lots of paper being laid down, tiles being cut the fit the specific areas, and every part of the house with new wood rails. The team also cleaned up every day after they were done. I had a few questions and Eric was always quick to respond. I'm extremely happy with the job that Monsoon roofing did. Job included a 10 years labor/20 years materials warranty.

We had our tile roof redone with new underlayment.we are very happy with the care taken by the crew, the excellent materials used and the responsiveness of the company. Monsoon went above our expectations in getting the job done right. The price was right along with other quotes we got, but Monsoon promised and did a better job. We are very pleased.

I opted to use Monsoon Roofing for my roof and patio repair, even though their estimate was more expensive; because after reviewing all the estimates, Monsoon Roofing had everything spelled out in the contract and could start the repairs in about 3 weeks vs 3 months. The crew showed up, worked hard, was very polite and professional. The entire project was completed in 3 1/2 days. The clean up was very professional; magnets were used to pick up nails and staples.

I had a massive leak with a roof that was 28 years old (Way beyond its life expectancy). I call Monsoon Roofing to have a new roof put on. I put in a lot of effort and time to research the materials that should be used. I wanted materials that were proven to work for 15 plus years. Monsoon Roofing fit the bill. They came on time, gave me an estimate (no high pressure tactics were used). They worked diligently on my roof to get it finished. The workmanship is impeccable with all of the metal trim pieces and clay tile, they touched up where it was needed. Just an amazing job well done. I look at my roof verses other roofs through the neighborhood. I am certainly glad I chose them to do my roof. Everyone that has worked on it, delivered to it, or inspected it, are just amazing, courteous, and respectful people. You would be crazy not to use them.

Monsoon was recommended by a real estate agent I know who had done business with them before. The owner, Melvin, came out to do the estimate and was extremely knowledgeable. He easily pointed out where the leak originated just using his familiarity with tile roofs. He showed me several other areas that had underlayment failure. We already knew the roof was on its last legs because of the age of the home and neighbors doing underlayment and roof repair. However, it was reassuring to have him point out the issues. He also didn't push for a total re-roof. He said he could fix the one leak and see how long he could extend its life but said other areas would probably leak soon. We decided to go with the full re-roof and have no regrets. The workers were prompt and it was done qquickly.They walked us through options when they found a couple specific issue during the work and Melvin would recommend handling the issues the way he would want it done on his roof. It's a small company with trustworthy people who stand by their work. After a hard monsoon season this year we have had zero leaks. We had two tiles break after a windstorm and they came and replaced them no questions asked. Great group of people who stand by their work!

Our neighbor gave us the referral. Melvin came in within a few days to look at our roof and received a quote the same day. I decided to go with them because the price was fair, seemed professional, not pushy sales people, and felt like they were honest. To say we need it a new roof was an understatement, they found some issues as they removed tiles and exiting underlinement, issues from poor previous repairs and a major one due to poor workmanship when the house was originally built. They let us know right away and were very accommodating in getting things fixed and ready for them to finish the job. Even though we had a major issue come up there were no surprise charges with them, they were always very transparent and communicative. Melvin even installed and extra vent for us for free. He was the only one (after 2 other roofing company inspections) that discovered the water flow at the leak location could be improved with a creative, but simple re-design repair. After nearly 30 years, our home was due for a whole roof replacement. We knew that. Once it started leaking into the kitchen, we finally did it. After talking with several roofing companies and getting some different estimates, we chose Monsoon because of several things.

First, Eric was the most professional and responsive person we worked with throughout the estimating process. We felt like we could trust him and really liked what he promised in his quote.

Second, monsoon wasn't the cheapest but they weren't the most expensive. We felt like the value was there and had confidence Eric and his team would deliver on what they promised.

Third, Eric promised that there would be daily cleanup on the ground level (we have young kids who love playing outside) and that he himself would frequent our house during the project.

Now that the job has been completed we can confirm that Monsoon went above and beyond what they promised and we didn't pay a penny more than what we were quoted. While I'm not a roofing person at all and don't really have a desire to get on top of my two-story house to inspect every little detail, from what I can see, our roof was put together really well.

Overall - very impressed with Monsoon and would not only recommend them to family and friends, but use them again someday if we need roofing help.

The owner is Awesome. Had my house reroofed a year and a half ago by Monsoon Roofing. Today he was in the neighborhood, cause they were doing a reroof just around the block, he stopped to say hello when he saw me in the yard. As we were talking, he notice an error on a few of the bird stops on the second floor roof. It wasn't 30 minutes later he sent his crew to fix it. Took them 5 minutes. That is what I call service. We selected Monsoon Roofing after soliciting quotes for a "remove and replace" roofing job for our 24 yr old tile roof. They were significantly less expensive than their closest competitor and offered the same or higher level of service. Every aspect of the project, from ensuring new tile installed in place of tile no longer available to ensuring the mudballs were painted the EXACT color the wife wanted was handled with professionalism. Eric, the Superintendent, was on-site daily to see if we had any questions and the crew was respectful and leaned after themselves each day including running magnets to collect any staples or nails in the yard. They replaced facia boards, painted bird boards to match our trim, removed gutters and did the job on budget, ahead of schedule. I recommend Monsoon Roofing!

We used Monsoon to replace our 20 yr old roof after having a great experience for a minor repair several years ago. They were fantastic to work with. Very professional and responsive. Eric was a pleasure to work with and very appreciative of our business. It's hard to get excited about replacing your roof but if you have to do it, I would highly recommend these guys. The quality of the work was top notch and the price very reasonable.

Excellent in every category. Prompt estimate, followed by easy schedule. Good coordination for dumpster arrival, raw materials delivery, etc. Very hard working crew—all wearing masks. Good carpenter skills to replace sections of dry rot. Judicious placement of color matched replacement roof tiles. Our solar light tube had an unusual geometry that required a creative solution for the new flashing. They brought in a special subcontractor to replace the roofing material for the patio parapet. They completely removed the old surface material and replaced it with a white foam sealant which covered the entire roof and stucco walls—very thorough! The price was fair. The overall quality of the roof installation was superior to the original Shea product. Very good attention to proper drainage flow. The crew cleaned up all waste debris every day before leaving. The crew worked from 6am-3pm daily with an hour lunch/siesta break at noon. The average temperature was 109F daily. They performed like endurance athletes! Supervisor visited daily to explain how efforts would unfold and answer any questions.

Monsoon roofing replaced our 30 year old roof, replaced some roof trim with dry rot, redid our walk-deck balcony, and also the patio roof. Monsoon is a general contracting company as well, so we also had them paint the exterior of our house after roof replacement. They were a pleasure to work with, did great work (they are perfectionists for sure!), arrived on time every day and kept us up-to-date with the daily progress. I would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone looking for roof work or painting needs.

We had our house reroofed by Monsoon recently and they did an excellent job at a reasonable price. Melvin also helped me locate some structural problems with the roof (several broken rafters) and put me in touch with a trusted framer who corrected them. I had Monsoon do a small job 10 years ago, which is why I called them back for this job. You can’t go wrong!

Waited for a couple storms to pass through before I gave my review of the company. I had my tile roof underlayment replaced. I received multiple quotes and Monsoon was right in the middle of the pack. What put them over the top was Melvin's explanation of the quote and the things they would do to bring my 30 year old roof up to modern standards. During the whole 5 day process, they took pictures and shared them and informed where they were at. They did additional work on a skylight that wasn't sitting properly. Excellent work and was happy with the end product.
