A woman came to our home, measured for new cabinets.
Paid for before delivery of course.
The woman gave us virtual pictures of what the cabinets would look like, everything looked good.
As my husband was finishing the last cabinet install, he realized she measured wrong and the cabinet is approximately 2 1/2 inches taller than the space.
I texted the woman and my husband emailed her.
She called my husband and said it’s in the contract that she is not responsible for fixing the problem.
I reached out to her and asked her to show me what part of the contract that it states that my husband is responsible for her miscalculation of measuring the cabinet wrong.
She has not got back to me yet.
She did the measurements not us!

My husband asked me to stop down to look at siding samples and I was expecting rough-edged construction guys - but was pleasantly surprised that the gentleman in the office was so friendly! He worked with me to find exactly what I needed and gave me samples to take home.
We ordered siding and about a week later Prince Henry showed up in a big box truck with our order. We have a long narrow driveway and he maneuvered the truck exactly where I asked and worked with me to drop the order just where we needed it. He was incredibly kind, outgoing, friendly and professional. I enjoyed chatting with him while he worked. A great experience overall!

I have never had such great customer service experience in any industry.

Vince the manger spent close to 2 HOURS explaining details about the different aspects of my roof. He ended up saving me thousands of dollars in the process.

He was by far the best person I have ever dealt with when it came to getting educated on a very important product - the roof of my new home. He genuinely cared about helping me out in any way that he could.
In contrast, their competitor across the street had no idea what he was talking about and gave me terrible advice. Aren't you happy you read this review? Good luck with your roof!

Fantastic. They were extremely patient and helped with all of our questions, priced multiple options, and were overall helpful. Prices were good and products seem to be good as well. Very happy with our experience.

Modern has alot of positives, everything you need at fair prices and a helpful knowledgeable sales staff, sometimes the warehouse can slow you down a bit but i get the impression they try to improve and do their best.

The staff won't allow more than one person in the store for a transaction. Hard to do when one person has the payment and another is the contractor. Very rude & inconsiderate staff at the counter. I would recommend going to Home Depot or Lowe's instead, where the staff is friendly and willing to help.

There for shingles, man at counter very quick and knowledgeable, however the worker in warehouse loaded the wrong color, I was able to return but MBS is not close by, then they loaded a bundle with broken edges, had to return that, but at least I was there and caught it right away

This place is great for contractor. They are generally knowledgeable and what you're dealing with and they have not yet steered me wrong. They are also great for items that you would otherwise have to order online and wait till they arrived at your location. I will continue shopping here in the future as long as I am as happy with this company as I currently am.

Worked with Kim on a bathroom remodel. She was very knowledgeable about products. She’s very friendly and well organized. We used MBS in Columbus 20 years ago with great results and I would definitely recommend the Pittsburgh location

Wonderful working with Kim on my kitchen. Installation was Perfect!!!! Prince delivered the cabinets and was professional, courteous, and efficient. The remodel was a breeze, thank you Kim and Prince!

Very nice and accomodating! Until they got our money and an uneducated staffer ordered a custom Cabinet incorrectly and then proceeded to tell us we were wrong after we told them repeatedly the dimensions we needed our cabinet rough opening to be. Very unknowledgeable about Cabinetry and measurements needed. I only figured out after the fact that the measurement should have been increased by 3/4 of an inch from the measurements that we gave her because the cabinet company can't build a cabinet for a rough opening they only do measurements for the entire cabinet. I believe the staff should have known that when they took our order. Very unprofessional and terrible customer service.

Im a small contractor who spent $120,000 at Beacon and Liberty roofing last year. I went to MBS Pittsburgh at 10 am to avoid the morning rush. I bought 3 items. There were 6 people ahead of me at the warehouse and 1 employees pulling orders. I waited 28 minutes then pulled my own order with help from other customers. I went to the job and the water cut off I bought was like clay. I cut the tubes open and they were too hard to trowel on, wouldn't even stick to my finger. First time at MBS, last time at MBS. A week after this happened MBS. called me I've returned that call 5 times and every time I'm placed on hold. Ive never experienced this total lack of customer care and wonder how they're in business.

We went to Modern Builders to buy a sliding glass door and window for our home. Bill was the salesman and he was very patient, knowledgeable, and helpful. The windows are a good quality and reasonably priced. We will continue to shop here!

I was that guy. A man with tunnel vision not willing to change. Then one day I decided to check up on my distributor of 20 plus years, basically to keep them honest (pricing). See, my vendor had been bought out by a major supplier and they seemed to not be overly interested in their loyal customers. A change was imminent.
I walked into Modern builders, a supplier that I hadn't used in over 20 years. I was greeted by a very nice man named Vince. He was very knowledgeable and proud to be a member of the MBS team. He showed me comparable prouducts to what i was using as well as better pricing on products that i have used on prior projects. In all this man went above and beyond anything that I expected. He was clear and precise on every product which we talked about. The confidence he had i his company's ability to put the customer first made me a true believer.
Thank you Vince. I'm now a MBS convert !!

I am one to shop around for the best price. I stopped at Modern Builders after looking at two other companies and after meeting Jim I went no further. He gave me the “Best Design”. He also made things happen within my tight budget which I am extremely thankful. Most of all he was kind,compassionate and patient when I had to delay moving forward because of a personal tragedy.When I finally called back he remembered me and expedited my kitchen project . He has helped me through all my concerns even on his day off. I am grateful to him and when my kitchen is done I will continue to think of him as a friend than someone who was just trying to sell me a kitchen.Hiring people like Jim is what keeps customers coming back. My experience with Modern Builders has been amazing! Jim, the designer, has redesigned our small kitchen to double the counter and cabinet space...something we never thought was possible. Jim is in the process of designing a new kitchen for me. He is doing an awesome job at reconfiguring my kitchen, and it is so very exciting. Jim as been fantastic at keeping in touch with me thus far. This is so very important to me and I so appreciate his great efforts at keeping me apprised of the process as it is daunting!

Although the project was just a small one, Jim gave it the same effort and attention to detail as as any larger project.

Counterman are super knowledgeable and if they dont got it ..they get it quickly. Great to work with .Warehouse and delivery staff are on point . Especially dan the boom truck driver without his skill and knowledge my job would be 10 times harder.

I have been dealing with modern for many years. They always are helpful and recently I have had the pleasure of working with Dan Meadows on windows and doors for an apartment complex I work at. Dan has been on the jobsite numerous times and if I needed something Dan was there within the hour.He has helped us everytime I asked him to and he calls if he does not hear from me in a couple of days.
At the north side store ] am always treated good by Vince and the office staff and the warehouse guys are great. I only by my roofing supplies from Modern and I will continue to buy there.

Jim was exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful. He designed a kitchen that my wife loves and helped us every step of the way.
