CNS Cousins Construction was such a joy to work with on our deck and patio project. They communicated well and were readily available every step of the way. Our project was completed in a timely fashion and for a very fair price. Andy was our project manager and he did such an incredible job. We recommend them highly. They were leaps and bounds of higher quality than some of the other bids we got.

CNS Construction did a great job replacing a portion of the siding on my house in the South Side Flats. They worked in two different breezeways on scaffolding to accomplish the work and it was all completed in the same day. Had CNS re-side my house while we were away for vacation. I'm always a bit nervous having someone do a reno project while I can't oversee it, but these guys were worthy of the trust. The siding looks great and they cleaned up well and promptly. I found one minor issue and they followed up and corrected it quickly with no problems. I'd definitely recommend them and use them again for future similar work.

CNS sent out their repair tech to help me with a clogged downspout issue that was causing water to build up along my foundation and creating a leak in my basement. The service technician came out with all the tools and ladders he needed to get to the 3rd story roof/gutter. He was professional, fast, knowledgeable, and even offered to remove some vines while he was up there! I will be getting a new roof and gutter system soon with CNS, service couldn't have been any better!

CNS Construction was a great Siding, Deck, and Roofing company to work with within Pittsburgh. They were able to provide me with both an estimate and completed the siding repair on the same day as the siding estimate/inspection. CNS was willing to complete the siding repair on an area of my house that was certainly challenging to reach and they came up with a creative solution to complete the project of which two other siding/roofing contractors had turned down previously due to access concerns. I really appreciated the creative thinking CNS put in to complete my "smaller" siding repair job. For Pittsburgh city residents, I can certainly suggest you look CNS's way for your next siding, roof, or decking work. They were fantastic to work with and came in at a very reasonable price. Communication was great as well.

We are so pleased with our deck! CNS was able to get our deck started much sooner than we had anticipated which was a great surprise. The crew was professional and easy to work with. They were super respectful of us needed to let our dogs outside while they worked. They finished our deck in a week and we couldn't be more pleased with the results! It is sturdy and beautiful!

This company build a new deck in our house, cut a door from the dining room to the deck and enlarged the window in the kitchen. We got a discount the condition that we rate their work 5 stars on Google. It was a bit scary because we didn't want to mislead people if we didn't like something. Now that the work is finished, we regret only that we can only rate their work as 5 and not 10. Thanks for the quick response to calls, for the fast and great work, for always cleaning up after yourself.

May build nice decks, but we didn’t have a great experience. Technician was 15 minutes late to quote appointment and stayed for over 2 and half hours when we were told 90 minutes. Very salesy compared to other deck companies. After two hours we were quoted $76K for a deck, when we had 4 other bids between $27-$38 for same materials and layout. After some “discounts” they brought it down to $64K. I hope people do their research and don't get trapped or feel pressured into giving into situations like this. No amount of experts or craftsmanship justifies a $30-$40K difference in price.

EDIT: After seeing this review CNS called me to get more feedback, which I did appreciate. After our discussion, they did ask if I’d consider removing my review. This makes me wonder if others have taken theirs down. Despite their outreach I’m going to leave this up because this was my experience and this is the purpose of reviews. Not trying to damage the company, just trying to help consumers make educated decisions.

CNS Cousins Construction did a fantastic job rebuilding my deck. Ryan and his team worked through some very inclement weather to complete the job before Easter. They went above and beyond with the attention to detail and quality workmanship. They’ll be replacing the siding on the addition to the house next and I’m looking forward to the same excellent results.

My wife and I are very pleased with the quality of work performed to relocate and build new steps on our property. The crew was able to create the steps so that they didn't interfere with the structure of an existing retaining wall. The crew was also able to adapt the new steps to our challenging topography. Ryan, Jason and Manny did a wonderful job.

Recently, CNS construction replaced a second floor deck for us. It was the best experience with a contractor that we have ever had. Ryan and his crew started on time, worked through rainy weather and completed the deck in two days. The workmanship was excellent, and the workers were diligent, professional and polite. In addition, communication was exceptional from beginning to end. Ryan and Sam kept us informed throughout the construction, and the crew helped us move our grill back onto the deck. The new deck is a huge improvement over the old one and it looks great. We highly recommend CNS construction.

We personally chose to finance and it was a breeze. The shingles look great and my mind is at ease knowing we have much better protection against the weather elements now! CNS did a fabulous job replacing a horrible and unsafe porch with a brand new one! I can't say enough wonderful things about Ryan, who built the porch. He has such an eye for detail and always kept me up to date with everything he was doing. He showed up, worked hard, and made sure things were tidy when he left for the day. These guys knocked it out of the park! I had wood built on top of concrete whenever I became disabled. I asked CNS to redo the porch and make it into a patio. They extended the porch with concrete, added rails and put in a drain. I picked the color of the concrete to match the house. It looks amazing! I've gotten so many compliments already. It's definitely boosted my mood!

We had a large project changing our house from cedar to Hardie siding. We found Calvin to be a responsible contractor, attentive to details and to

The contractor completed a recent roofing project on my entire house in an expeditious manner. The job was completed by noon time of the same day. Very satisfied with quality of workmanship, clean up, and same day dumpster removal.

Really quick work, was able to come out quickly to do the job, and work looks fantastic! Worked well to accommodate when needed as well. Sales reps were very nice and thorough with their inspections and process as well.

CNS was recommended to us, and they had great reviews. They were very up front about being on the upper end of the pricing scale, but there was zero pressure or upselling. In fact, we ended up up-selling ourselves, and while we had initially planned on just replacing the roof, we ended up including gutters, soffits, and fascia. We wanted an easy process with people we could trust, and even with some (minor!) bumps along the way, all of the guys we worked with were very responsive and *highly* professional every step of the way, ensuring that we got a satisfactory solution. The job was completed quickly, and the clean up was very thorough. We are very happy with the results and will recommend this company to family and friends.

Nearly 110 Squares of new roof, gutters, and fascia. Our church's roof was in bad shape and we were experiencing leaks and ice damage and the roof was only 15 years old. We received competitive bids from multiple companies. When we met with Sam, one of the owners, he brought the GAF Rep and we talked through the entire project, how the shingles are constructed, what type of underlayment they use, and how the new ventilation technology works. No one else did that. To top it off, they were one of the lowest bids. We were not disappointed. The crew was excellent, the workmanship was fantastic, and they worked to keep the site clean throughout the project. We have a 50 year roof, and it has completely transformed the look of our building. I highly recommend CNS Construction.

We had impressive consultation regarding options for replacing the old siding on our house with Hardie Plank. Chris and Nick were prompt, professional and very thorough. They were open to all questions, checking to make sure that they were answered to our satisfaction. The 3-D rendering was extremely helpful as was being able to handle samples of product.

I came across CNS in a Clipper Magazine last summer when we were looking for someone to rebuild my elderly Mom's porch. Sam came out and explained everything to her and took the time to listen. He was so courteous and patient with her (and the hotter than Hades house) and really made all of us feel comfortable with her decisions. There was no pressure, just good honest information with time to make a decision between the three options. They built the exact porch she was looking for, and she was totally happy.
We were so impressed, we asked them for an estimate on our roof.(on the opposite side of Pittsburgh). Sam gave us a great estimate, and was totally understanding when we decided to wait out the winter.

They just finished last week, and it was amazing. They had our roof completed in a day. We were so happy. (especially our two cats who were not a fan of the noise. lol)

I cannot sing enough praises for Sam and CNS construction. If you want good, quality affordable work done by professionals in every sense of the word, CNS construction is the company for you.

Sam is professional and the quality of work his team produces has achieved the coveted status of having not one, but three stamps of approval by three different Pittsburgh dads.

I contacted Sam after seeing a really cool looking deck on a house down the street. He passed the vibe check.. you know, the one where you don’t feel strangely violated after the contractor explains to you something you already know for an hour and then quotes you for what will likely be subpar work.

Sam worked with me and was patient with my insurance weirdness. Once the project started, he ended up discovering not one, not two, but four layers of waterlogged shingle sandwich on my roof. The crew shoveled garbage shingle for what seemed like an entire week. Those guys deserve a gold medal for real. Sam also dealt with harassment from my excessively angry neighbor who is the type to be angry no matter what is happening. 0% passing rate on the Mr. Roger’s neighbor scale.

The roof looks excellent and the quality matches the appearance. 10/10 would work with Sam again.

CNS built my deck a couple weeks ago. I included pictures in my review. You’re not going to find many other deck builders who can build a deck this well. They made the process really simple on my end. I look forward to using my deck over the upcoming summers.

I had a bathroom that needed updated. Since it was for a second residence, I had a conservative budget. Sam worked with me and provided a great quote. In addition, Sam communicated well throughout the entire project, even without me being onsite. No project is without challenges, but Sam meets them head-on in a professional way. I appreciate him and his team and will be using CNS again.
