I really wish I could give Midwest Siding a better rating but with the number of problems we had with them I can’t. First, we had to wait 2 months to get James Hardy siding and 2 windows. Not once were we contacted with an update. When we finally called 2 months after signing papers and paying a deposit, they were miraculously ready. The siding itself is good. It looks great. It's the installation by workers from Midwest that was the problem. There are just too many to list here so I will just highlight a few. We had an underage worker on site doing everything the other 2 were doing including running the saw. He was there until he stepped on a nail while he was wearing Crocs. Another worker sawed through major electrical wires causing us to lose power in parts of our house. Thank goodness we were home and noticed because he was just going to keep going until we told them to stop. An electrician had to be called by the company and after hours of work was able to
re-establish power to our outdoor electrical box and fuse box. We ended up requesting a different crew to finish the siding. Somehow they caused drywall nails to pop out inside of our house. Time for the caulkers. Just an FYI the caulkers do not remove old caulk . You have to do that yourself. They left several areas totally un-caulked which we ended up doing ourselves also. The painters were the highlight of the whole job. They did a very nice job. They fixed the holes around the windows and the nail pops.

Now the windows. Midwest should not even be selling Hayfield windows. After installation we noticed there is a hole under the lock when the window is open. Who wants to spend thousands of dollars on windows that have holes big enough for bugs to get in? The response was, that’s just the way the windows are made!! Do not buy these windows!!! When we refused to pay for the windows until they fixed them they came out and put foam in the holes which anyone could do. But the point is, there should never have been a hole there to start with.

Through this whole ordeal, the owner was aware of all of the issues we were having. But not until the very end, when they finally fixed the windows, did we hear an apology from him. As an owner, whose business reputation depends on reviews, we felt there should have been numerous apologies throughout our ordeal. We did received 2 yeti cups and multiple gift cards as a form of apology also which was appreciated. Choose Midwest if you want. I’m sure they have some good installation crews. We just didn’t happen to get them. BUT!! We definitely would not get the Hayfield windows!!

The absolute best. From start to finish it was an exceptional experience. Thank you Mark and everyone else that gave me more than what I expected.
If you want siding and windows, and don't use Midwest Siding, you've made a mistake.
