MidCoast Heat Pumps

I saw the other positive reviews and had this company install 3 heat pumps in my house in 2022. We've had multiple problems with our split units since then. I saw the other positive reviews and can only shake my head. This latest problem finally gave me the kick that I needed to write this.

First, the installation wasn't great. The date/time was changed several times and we weren't notified. Also, the guy installing the heat pumps let his dog in our backyard without our permission. I mean, who does that? This was after my husband told him our dog is scared and reactive. This was so unprofessional and just plain weird but we didn't say anything because we were anxious to get the heat pumps in before the summer heat.

Then, we started having free flowing water draining down the interior wall under the heat pump. Didn't notice it at first but mold was already developing after we did. Called and emailed - after a lot of hassle one of the guys came out and said it was installed wrong (I mean you guys installed the thing in the first place!). He said he fixed it. It was draining water down the wall again the next day. I called back many times, emailed twice and spoke with the guy in charge who assured me that they would come back out to fix it. Weeks passed, more calls and voicemails and no response. They ghosted us. I was fed up so I called Dave's World in Augusta and the guy who came out said our installation was done poorly and fixed it - and it stayed fixed this time.

Finally, we've had another issue with the heat pump breaking down. Dave's World came out, fixed it, and said the install was bad and caused the issue. Out of the 3 heat pumps we had installed, 2 have had serious issues and we had to get mold treatment done because of one of them. I didn't even bother contacting MidCoast Heat pumps this time since the experience has been so poor in the past. What's the point? Even if they say they have fixed it, it's probably not actually fixed.

I would not recommend this company to anyone. If there is a problem they will ghost you. I don't expect this review to stay up, but if it does, I'm so disappointed with our experience. Please go with a reputable company and save yourself a lot of heartache.

We have used an oil burner for 20 years to heat our home but felt it would be a good idea to have a backup system ( in case the cost of oil goes thru the roof) that utilizes green energy. And we wanted some ac to cool during the summer.. And the mini split does both utilizing hydro electric power. We called several installers for pricing and Rod Burton/Midcoast Heat Pumps was the quickest responder and best price out of the group. Very neat install and very quick setup..totally pleased with the product and Rod's service and attention to detail. And we will use them on the next addition we have planned.
