Mentor Homes Eavestrough and Siding

I needed a full eaves replacement and Mentor Homes did the work within a month of calling. I recommend these guys.

We had storm damage to our siding May 2022.We called Mentor and he came next day no charge and did temporary repairs.After insurance settled he came back and installed new siding.He and his father did excellent job.Mentor is very honest and straightforward guy.I would highly recommend him.Barbara and Wojtek.

I’m typically one to not write reviews however when its regarding our home and poor quality renovations I felt compelled to. I had Mentor homes do my siding and eaves trough a year ago. From the beginning I was apprehensive when my new front railing was broken from falling debris from my roof as well as old siding and debris crashing down on my ac unit. Fortunately I intervened and was able to limit the damage. Thankfully the railing was repaired under warranty by the installer. This didn’t seem to phase Mentor Homes as the next day they continued to drop siding from the roof impacting my newly repaired railing. I intervened again and wrapped it in styrofoam. One may overlook this however in the case of my facia boards they were to be straightened vertically from the original roof pitch. For the most part they were by eyeballed. I mentioned the inconsistency in this as I could visibly see this and was told not to worry as I would never see it when the job is finished. Most contractors have the proper tools to do the job but when one leaves their level, string line and common sense at home it made the aluminum facia wavy which telegraphed to the new eaves trough. The end result was troughs that leak. Mentor did come back and basically put a bandaid on it to make the facia appear straight but it didn’t work and I had to caulk the gaps between the facia and trough to prevent water dripping between the facia and eavestrough. This is does not include the lack of drip edge between the roof sheathing and facia allowing wood sheathing to be exposed to the weather along with poor flashing between the siding and foundation base again leaving wood framing exposed to the elements.
In the case of the facia the only proper way to fix it is to straighten the facia board as it deviates up an inch. This is what should have been done in the first place, especially when one pays tens of thousands for a job.
In talking to Mentor I expect he has no intention on in repairing this the way it should have been done in the first place leaving one with a typical feeling mistrust of contractors especially now. The funny thing is that I was promised that there would be no leaks…

I needed eavestroughs installed to satisfy conditions imposed by my home insurance, and another company I had booked to do the work backed out on the day they were supposed to do the installation because of the depth of the fascia that would be supporting the eavestroughs. Mentor found time to do the job for us late in the season, and he and his team got it done in one day (which included replacing and building out the fascia before installing new eavestroughs). I would easily recommend Mentor Homes.

We had an issue with our siding. I read the reviews for Mentor Homes and contacted him for a quote. He told me that it was a minor job. He did a great job and explained what he did. I would definitely use Mentor Homes again and would recommend them.
