We worked with Matt on a Master and Guest Bath remodel. First impressions are important and he gave a very positive first impression. After seeing the two bathrooms and understanding the scope of the project, he provided a timely and thorough quote for our review. Regarding questions we had, he outlined each question and provided the answer in red – a very constructive process that gave us confidence in him moving forward.

We received a list of vendors to work with, contact information and a detailed timeline. Matt updated us regularly regarding who was going to be at the house and the work that would be done. The subcontractors were qualified and respectful of our home.

Matt helped us with any questions we had and utilized his expertise to give us other suggestions and cost savings opportunities, without sacrificing quality. We made a couple of adjustments during the process and he never seemed frustrated with us. Issues that came up were addressed promptly and to our satisfaction.

It was a good experience. Matt was honest, experienced and knowledgeable and priced the remodel fairly. We would highly recommend him and utilize his services again for future projects.

I had the most amazing experience working with Matt and his team. From the beginning of getting an estimate and design quote, Matt went over in great detail the scope of the project with my husband and I. We did a kitchen / living room remodel. Matt and his team were all very kind and cleaned up every night. Each and every team member of Matt’s were respectful of my family and our crazy schedule. Matt kept in contact with me frequently and if his team were at my home he would always be there to make sure things were going as planned. He had several professional connections to help me pick paint colors and flooring. I would strongly recommend Matt, MDR.

I decided to go with MDR after talking with one my neighbors who had great things to say about Matt and his team. I am glad I did. Matt came out and gave me an initial estimate on my bathroom remodel including some optional costs of things like in-floor heating.

Once I decided to move forward he sent me to his preferred vendors who were all great in picking out the tiles, quartz countertop, shower glass, tub and all the bathroom finishes from shower heads to toilet paper holders.

While I was doing this Matt was getting everything scheduled including the plumbing and electrical inspectors. They did a good job of sticking to the schedule and things went smoothly. His people were all very courteous and did a great job of cleaning up every day. They were also very respectful of the fact that I was working from home. I was and still am very impressed with the quality of the work and thrilled with the final results of my bathroom. There were no surprises and the time frame and total cost were what I was expecting.

I would not hesitate to use MDR again, in fact we have already talked about a possible project next year.

In early 2023, we were in-process of buying our in-laws home and wanted to gut it and put in an addition before moving in. During the loan closing process things became hectic with the bank since we decided to lock in our interest rate while still in the early steps with Matt. Matt did a great job at turning things around very quickly including same day at times so that we could close on time.

During the remodel, Matt kept us up to date as to where things were at and the timeline going forward. Since the remodel required us to go down to the studs, additional issues were found that Matt either just took care of for no charge or was very transparent about the costs and what we needed to do to fix them. Prior to installing the fixtures or other items, we picked out he made a point of looking at them ahead of time to ensure they were good quality. If the items weren't good quality, he would let us know and/or switch them out for something better.

The contractors he worked with were also great and did a really nice job. Matt made a point of talking with them ahead of time about what needed to be done and inspecting the work afterwards as well to make sure it met the home owners and his requirements. We absolutely loved our painter (Brian).

We had a few touchup items that needed to get fixed after we moved in, which Matt was good about taking care of in a timely fashion.

Again he did a great job and would absolutely go with him again.

Matt and his team restored our faith in General Contracting. We were in the middle of rebuilding portions of our home with another contractor, which fell apart when that contractor started providing unexplainable charges. We reached out, received several new quotes, and went with Matt. Right away we had a great feeling with Matt and his team, and were rewarded with outstanding work and service. He and his team readily communicated what was going on through all stages of our rebuild, and most importantly (to us at least) took the time to help us understand what needed to happen, why it needed to happen, and how much each alternative would cost. Plainly put, he worked WITH us, and thanks to him and his team we have our home back. We've already recommended his services to friends and family, and if we're ever in the need of additional work around our house he and his team will be the first ones we call. Thank you Matt!

Matt was amazing to work with with. He was one of three quotes I got and it was clear to me right away that he really knew what he was doing. We had a long nightmare to deal with with our insurance company, but Matt stuck it out with us and was timely with all the documentation the insurance company needed. We are done now and very happy with it the work in our kitchen and master bath!

Thesis: After talking to a couple of big bathroom remodel companies at shows and having four or five contractors come out, we chose Matt Rondo’s MDR Design-Build-Remodel. He was honest, frank about what would be possible and what wouldn’t based on our budget, and upfront about timeline. He organized all his subcontractors so that there was someone here every day so we didn’t have to live in chaos any longer than absolutely necessary. When the remodel was complete and I’d had a few days to enjoy it, Matt came out for a final review and asked how I liked it. I had to admit to him that I loved how everything turned out, but my water heater wasn’t able to fill the extra deep tub I picked out. He immediately whipped out his phone and called his plumber to find out if there was a more affordable way to improve my hot water supply by enhancing my current water heater instead of replacing it (the answer was yes). We’ve never done a remodel before, but we will definitely choose Matt Rondo and MDR Design-Build-Remodel for our next one!

In July 2017, we began a major town house renovation including a new kitchen and master bath. We originally subcontracted Matt for his skills as an electrician, but as the renovation continued, we needed someone to serve as general contractor while we were out of state. Matt was the logical choice. He always communicated well and responded to our plans, was consistently on or ahead of schedule, worked well with other subs, and demonstrated the trustworthiness required for a general contractor. Matt was a very trustworthy 5 star contractor. I felt secure having him do many things around the house including removing a pergola, electrical work, replacing a toilet, fixing 2 others, replacing soffit vents and securing the soffit which was falling down, painting all the cedar on my stucco house. My wife and I started our kitchen/dining room remodel a few months ago. After numerous meetings with different contractors, we met Matt. He was the only one that really listened to our thoughts, ideas and over all plans for this open air/one room idea.
