I had a great experience with Schmidt Roofing replacing my wood shake roof with architectural shingles. Darrin was fantastic to work with, wanting to make sure I picked out the best shingle for my roof. Matt was wonderful on the job site and was anyways very responsive. The crew out at my house worked incredibly hard to get my job done, removing thoes wood shingles was a tough job. The roof was beautifully done and I’m thrilled. There are a lot of roofing companies to chose from, I would recommend Schmidt Roofing to anyone.

Matt was extremely kind and helpful. He came out to inspect a small section of loose siding and determined it was a relatively quick fix. He immediately fixed the issue for us. I will definitely recommend Schmidt Roofing to others based on my experience with Matt. Thank you!

We called about a roof leak by our chimney. Matt came out and helped us diagnose the problem. He was professional and honest about the issue. Came back the next day and sealed everything up. I would definitely reach back out for any future repairs.

Matt was over at my neighbors finishing up and heard a flapping sound on my roof asked to take a look at it. I said if you have time I would love it, there is a beehive up there. He took spray out of his truck and killed the hive and removed it and he was about to figure out the flapping that we have been dealing with for 4 years! Amazing service! Had a leak in the kitchen ceiling. Matt from Schmidt roofing came out and assessed the situation. Discovered my gutters were absolutely full of leaves and debris. He not only cleaned out the gutter that was causing the problem, but also did the rest of the them. Can't stress enough how pleased and grateful I am for such an amazing job.

We needed some additional insulation in our attic and have the soffit vents replaced. Cory and team did a great job and I would recommend their work!

Matt went above and beyond helping with some repairs at my home last week. He did an excellent job fixing damaged siding, and I was especially impressed with how innovative he was in coming up with a solution to install a grate to keep birds out of my soffit. His attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile really stood out. Highly recommend!

We suffered severe hail damage as did our entire neighborhood. This caused a shortage of contractors to go around. Schmidt Roofing was out to do our neighbors roof right away. We Called them with the thought that this was going to takes weeks. Jeff was out to assess our damages in a couple of days. We had a new roof & gutters in a couple of weeks of that visit. Unbelievably fast. The crews were great, respectful, knew what they were doing & worked long, long days to complete the project. We also had 2 patio doors & 4 windows that were damaged. That took longer due to Schmidt Roofing having to get approval & explain to the insurance company that their assessment was unrealistic for our area. Our adjuster was from Louisiana. Schmidt Roofing had a big burden working to get our insurance to up the assessments & a miracle happened, the insurance finally approved the increased costs. As winter approached we had to wait for the custom windows to be manufactured & spring time for installation. That window crew did a phenomenal job. Siding needed to be replaced around them & the inside millwork was replaced as well….. every crew on this job was incredible. The staff (Jeff) & the office people working with our insurance company went above & beyond, they communicated with us even in the evenings & weekends. Questions texted to them were answered immediately. Very experienced, smart, respectful, caring & take pride in their work. As seniors & never experiencing an insurance claim & a very high level of anxiety this situation caused us, Jeff was very patient with us & held our hands throughout this entire mess. We would recommend this company highly. 1,000 stars awarded to them.

Checked with a few places for roof repair, Schmidt gave me the best feeling about how they go about repair and upon choosing them they were able to fix up my roof the following morning before I was even out of bed. They were very responsive and easy to work with, would recommend them for anyone else looking at roofing service!

Quick & reasonable. I had a small wind damage job on the roof facia. It blew off. I called on Sat, talked to Karla, they came out on Monday, fixed it on Tuesday. All high work. While Matt was up there he noticed a few spots the needed to be caulked. He had caulk with him and did it as part of my facia job, no extra charge. Very pleased with his work. I recommend them, everyone was friendly and prompt.

I had a small siding repair job that I needed to get done fast. Cory came out and was able to find the exact match to our 9 year old siding. I discussed the actual job with installer Matt who gave me the utmost confidence in his work and work ethic as well as Schmidt Roofing in general. The finished repair looked excellent.

Very happy about the roof work. My only complaint is my having to go through the invoice over and over to find things that were still in the invoice that were not done. I did give up looking even though I know there were still some furnace/fireplace vents that were $200-$300 each which were in your invoice. I guess I feel that these could have been picked up by your people and not me.

Schmidt Roofing was contacted following a recent hail storm to replace siding and roof on a house and garage. They coordinated with the insurance company and completed the entire project very professionally. We would use them again without hesitation.

Schmidt replaced my roof and gutters a few years ago. The job was completed in a timely manner and the job done was exceptional in quality. They used the materials I requested without hesitation. Their clean-up of my property left nothing to desire. They communicated with me throughout the process, relieving the stess associated with inconvenience and interruption with daily living. Fast forward. I found two caps, one for the kitchen venting and one for a bathroom, to have deteriorated and as risk of water intrusion. I stopped at their office and discussed it with Matt. He said he'd be over in afew days and replace the caps. He came by and completed the job as promised. Even with the roof snowy and slippery. He checked in with me to let me know it was done and no longer a worry. Very professional and personable service. They will be my "go to" organization ways. Five star work, follow through and customer care!

Joey was great to work with got the quote quickly and got the job done. The roofers also did a great job they were in and out in 1 day, very professioal and did a fantastic cleanup.

I wouldn’t hire this company again. The installers damaged my home. Electrical wiring was damaged requiring an electrician to repair the damage. Most of my screens were torn when they took off the old shingles. Tar stains were left all over the house from the removal of the old shingles.

Schmidt Roofing has reroof our home two times in the last seven years. Both times the result of hail storms. We were extremely satisfied both times. Recently Matt came out to check a small leak by the chimney flue. He took care of it even though it wasn’t roof related. We have and will recommended them

Schmidt Roofing just put a new roof on my shed in Plymouth, MN. They found some rot in the wood sheathing and did a good job replacing it. My shed has a gambrel roof and they did a great job at installing the shingles on the different roof angles. Logan gave me a detailed estimate and the crew was very qualified. I was very satisfied, as I was when Schmidt replaced my house roof in prior years.

Cory came out after the storm and answered all our questions. Him and his team worked with the insurance company and once we picked out the shingle color/design the roof was completed in one day.

Schmidt Roofing installed the roof on our home before we bought it, but, during the constant rain storms we had at the beginning of this year, my wife and I noticed a leak had started to seep into our front entryway. Despite the roof being out of warranty, Ron came over and took a look free of charge. He found two holes, patched them, and provided an assessment of what to watch for and do next if anything else came up. He was super kind and professional, and I was impressed that he did this all out of professional courtesy and nothing more. If anything else comes up, I’ll be sure to call Ron and his team and use Schmidt Roofing for our roofing needs!

Had our house, garage and shed shingled this past Monday. They worked from 7a.m. until almost 8:30 p.m. with a very short lunch break! Completed job and completely cleaned up everything. Working with Al & the entire team was a great experience. They took all the stress off us when it came to the insurance company. When the first adjuster wanted to repair our discontinued shingles, the team took care of getting a different adjuster out to our house & made this entire process so easy!

We had decided to replace our shingled roof with a standing seam metal roof. In addition to shingles, we learned that Schmidt Roofing does many metal roofs and are happy we contracted with them. Within a couple of days of the materials showing up on site a large crew showed up and went to work completing the project in two long days. They were hard workers and went at it like a well practiced orchestra. Check out the attached finished photo. I would recommend them.

My 84 year old mother trusted Schmidt roofing to install a new roof on her small farm house in SE MN. It was an absolute nightmare.
It took almost 9 months and 23 visits to complete. She was told repeatedly to pay before the job was completed. Fair warning to those who pick this company.

I cannot speak highly enough of Schmidt Roofing. From their quick and thorough communication to their immediate action to get our roof replaced before moving, they truly put our worries at ease. I would use them time and time again!

Project took a while, I'm a "communicate" person but that doesn't always work out the way I want so have to learn to deal with those issues. The crews that did the work did a very good job, fixing what needed to be fixed, making sure everything was done as we wanted. Both sales and admin were very attentive and extremely helpful with our insurance needs.

UPDATE: "Stone" work on the bottom was not installed correctly, already loose in many areas, top ledge was not secured to the house and ready to fall off, plus gaps between panels, screw holes and other areas need fixing. It has been looked at (twice) and I've been reassured it's going to get fixed but 2 months later nothing has been done. We seem to be getting passed down from one person to the next. Communication is just not a thing, I guess.

Schmidt Roofing is a company I would highly recommend to anyone. Installation was great. Clean up was great. Very competitive pricing. Here is the most important thing. I own a heating and cooling contracting company and when one of my guys or myself overlook something, miss something or make a mistake and it's a costly one, I eat it. I don't ever go back to my customer and try and get them to pay more. Schmidt roofing had a miscommunication with their Installers and the the Installers mistakenly though my detached garage was included. It wasn't. I waited to see how this would be handled by them and you guessed it. They ate it which was probably their profit on the job. You don't find companies like this very often. They do the right thing.

Our small community has had two damaging hail storms within two months… it is known as a catastrophic event!! Darrin and his son Luke have personally helped my family ( two houses) and several widows in my neighborhood. I had Schmidt roofing put new windows in my house. a total of 11. Cory gave me a bid which was very reasonable. Have to admit it took a while to get the window. Joe did a Great job installing. Correctly hung gutters and flashing are the service Schmidt Roofing contractors provided today at no cost. Better, the cost was an affirmation of helpfulness on their part and a request to review their work online so here-to-fore.

Upfront a crew of 2 informed that $250 in costs would be likely but that helping out when others have been unresponsive was posed too. This was before any member even got on a ladder. So, no less than 3 hours of work later that included removal then the rehang of gutters poorly hung as part of a $21K+ insurance job by another company in 2022. Who does this stuff?

Last, outgoing demeanors and helpfulness in a handyman sort of way describe my interaction with its crew.

Garage roof work is likely to be content in another review of Schmidt Roofing in the near future.

Had them out to de-ice and remove snow this winter. Quick response, clear billing criteria, staff on site and in the office were friendly and responsive to questions. Good value.

I had them do the roof and siding after a storm. They were great to work with and patient with the insurance company.

Called them on a Tuesday afternoon and Logan had a crew out at 8am on Wednesday to remove the heavy snow crushing my roof. The team was courteous, kind and all the other Scouting words I've forgotten but they definitely saved the day - and I didn't quite realize how fair of a price they offer until after another place called me back with their quote. Sometimes the first time is the charm. I'll be calling them again. Though I hope next winter is kinder. Trust in advertising should be rare - these guys are the real deal.

Well, where to start? They were great...until they weren't. Everything started out great with them, Tristan was on top of things and took charge with the inspectors from the insurance company. He was great with communication, showed up on time and was friendly to work with.
Then, when it was all approved and we paid the first check everything went downhill FAST. Communication stopped and if we wanted an update we had to reach out. We heard several times, "that's now my responsibility so I don't know," from a few people. No one updated us on a timeline for when the roof would be done, and then again when we waited for the siding. And when we tried to get answers it was clear the left hand was not talking to the right hand, in fact it seemed all hands were just plain tied. It was very frustrating.

The roof finally was replaced and that was a relatively painless process, but we never talked with any kind of supervisor and the crews just showed up and did their job and left. All fine, it was done, and it turned out well, the crew was nice enough with any interactions.

Then we waited for the siding to be completed, and waited, and waited and no one had any clue when it would be complete. The crew finally showed up and where they were nice it would have been great to have a heads up that they can cut out any bushes, tree branches, or anything else to do the job. I understand to a degree, but it would have been great to have some conversation that items would be killed at their whim. I think my bigger issue is there is no regard for any personal property. All of our landscape lights were trampled and destroyed. These lights were visible, and had we been told they would be in the way we could have made an effort to remove or at the very least cover with buckets for some kind of protection. There was not and has not been an apology yet for this damage. We did call to inform them at the time, and someone came out to look, not much conversation and no response. Tristan said he would come out a few weeks ago to look and has not, and there is still no resolution on our destroyed lighting.

Communication has just been absolutely terrible since we gave them the initial money. Apart from the destroyed shrubbery, destroyed lighting, there were things not completed on time, and the exterior lighting on the garage was hung crooked. We also needed to reinstall our own exterior outlets as no one ever showed up to put them back. And don't get me started on the number of nails left daily in the driveway. I get it a few should linger, but I was starting to wonder if they were just dumping out buckets before they left?

All I can say is I am glad we have not paid them yet for the remainder of their work. Keep your money and do your research. This is a Jeklyll and Hyde show.

Three months of repeated unreturned and unanswered phone calls.

Three weeks of unanswered emails.

Twice a Schmidt Roofing employee came onto my property unannounced and without permission to address some concerns, one of those times we weren't even home. We have a skylight in our main bathroom and this random person was on our roof unannounced.

This nonsense had been going on for four months at that point, how dare they place any blame on me for them, and their employees lack of communication, and then threaten me on top of it. (I withheld final payment because of the lack of response. They threatened to put a lein on my property for non payment.)

The service and respect their non-sales employees have to their customers has been very disappointing.

No part of me was interested in leaving any kind of review and just letting it go, after today, no thank you.

Also, they unabashedly pay $100 per five star review on Google.. So consider that if you think about using Schmidt in the future.

Schmidt roofing took care of us after hail damage in the st cloud area. There were alot of houses hit in the area and it was during covid so everything took a while to get completed but they did their best. Joey Kents responsiveness and customer service was top notch! would use again.
