Matt Grubbs recently helped us with an emergency repair and was a life saver!
We hired Matt to replace a French door in our living room (that had been leaking) and Matt had scheduled 1 day for his crew to do the work. What we didn’t know was the extent of the damage that was uncovered when the old door was taken out. Water had traveled down the walls to the floor below. As a result of the wet framing, termites had gotten in and created more damage. Windows and doors on multiple levels had to be removed and the exterior and interior walls on the main level and lower level were basically demolished and rebuilt. Part of the hardwood floor and subfloor inside of the leaking door was torn out and replaced. Part of the deck floor and OSB outside of the leaking door was torn out and replaced.
Needless to say, two floors of the house looked like a bomb had gone off. The emergency repair was in our short-term rental on Lake Anna and once the door was removed, Matt and his team had 6 days before guests were checking-in for Thanksgiving. Matt did an incredible job of rallying his team by working late nights and the weekend to get everything done in a very short time frame. Not only was the house ready for the guests, but it also looked incredible. The quality of the work was excellent.
I’m very appreciative for everything Matt did and his responsiveness to the situation. I would highly recommend Matt and his company, MDG Contracting and Design for anyone looking for a quality construction company.
